I don’t like Swole. I thought she was bad in the ring and wasn’t sad that she left. If you take color out of it, there were plenty of women who are more talented in the ring and don’t phone in their performances on DARK and Elevation. Sure, Britt was terrible in ring too and then got the Reigns push, but that doesn’t negate the fact that there were women who were busting their ass in every match who deserved a spot, not just Swole. I think how she carried herself, especially with the TBS Title announcement and switching it up once the person she tried to dismiss entered the conversation, speaks volumes on her character. That said? TK should directly apologize to her for what he said. It’s one thing for a fan to say “oh they aren’t good”, it’s damn near detrimental to a wrestler’s career for a promoter to say “yeah they suck”. I don’t see Vince responding in that manner to released talent, or even speaking about it on investor’s calls. But since TK said something publicly, he should swallow his pride and apologize. Does he need to do it publicly? I don’t think so. I don’t think he should make this grand gesture. If he wants to, cool. If he decides to do it privately in a one on one setting, that’s his right. I don’t get to tell him how he should apologize so that I feel appeased, nor should anyone. The apology, much like this whole conversation, should be between Swole and TK. Going public about it has only shifted the topic from what it originally was to questions of racism, attacks on POC who have shared their stories and people deciding they were in the wrong, and people going so far as to make stuff up and offer halfhearted apologies when called out, just to try and force an apology. An apology shouldn’t be performance, it should be genuine, and however TK decides to go about it (if he does at all) should be reflective of that. But again, who am I to tell him how to do it?
Khan couldve just clarified and say something like Swole not living to her full potential and disrespecting the AEW Dark talent by claiming they were not on par with her and show examples like the Megan Bayne match(which after 1 month after Revolution after Khan praised her as "great wrestler"), how she went into business for herself.

Khan is CEO. He can't get down and dirty flinging mud at former employees who he feels wronged him. Even if it's justified, it makes him look small and petty.
Then again, it really does seem like wrestling promoters and a number of sports teams owners can't help themselves doing this sort of thing.

Even the “have players/wrestlers respond on behalf on the people that should really be saying something” is a page of the Vince McMahon playbook borrowed by those same owners. It’s sadly not a new thing. EDIT: Hell, from personal experience, that tactic is why 4 of my friends from wrestling school who were the future of Irish wrestling are now retired from the business.

But it's the same thing as "WWE trusted sources" leaking that Keith Lee and Bray Wyatt are difficult to work with.

I check in Monday and seems like all is good again. I wake up this morning and it’s 15 pages higher. What happened this time?

Will Hobbs seems like a really good stand up dude.
Brian Cage on the other hand
Unlike Swole, Cage actually deserves that burial for being a total idiot.
Brian Cage is all "Why haven't you fired me yet, boss man?!"

Nothing against Will, but as someone who worked in PR for awhile, this is definitely not something he would write on his own. It hits way too many company keywords and feels incredibly corporate. While he may actually feel the way in the message that was released, this feels like something a PR firm told him to tweet out. It feels more like they are trying to paper over Tony's outburst, because he refuses to actually apologize for it. And that's not going to happen. He refused to apologize for the Urban Meyer stuff, and constantly gets into very public slapfights with fans and players of his other sports teams (Fulham and Jaguars). The dude is a complete embarrassment and like I've been saying for months, he desperately needs to hire on a PR firm (AEW executives in particular seem to constantly blunder on the PR front to varying degrees), and either hand over all of his social media accounts to a handler (who is trained in this stuff), or start taking classes. Or he could just be very well spoken and a good writer? This AEW PR are cleaning up through wresters tweets conspiracy seems a bit far fetched.

Not really sure what Urban Meyer had to do with AEW, besides the Tony Khan link, so let’s move on from that, yeah?

I rather hear about Oscar Mayer than Urban Meyer at this point.

Been seeing some "interesting" takes regarding Will Hobbs' statement. Like 'come on, he doesn't look like he writes like that'. (Said to me in Twitch chat last night)
Hmmm, what about his appearance would give this person that impression?

But the opposite is also true. The implication that Hobbs is being coerced into giving positive PR statements - or worse, that his statements were not even written by him - completely robs him of his agency. I've seen both arguments made in this thread, and even without any racist elements, they're gross as hell.

It all boils down to Swole gave her criticism of AEW and for whatever reason Tony reacted poorly. I have seen a lot of people attack black roster members for not publicly backing Swole or if they do respond saying "I've never had the negative experience"

Yeah, I’m also uncomfortable with people writing off what Hobbs and others say as PR not written by them. It immediately writes off the very real possibility that it’s how he feels. If that’s the case, it shouldn’t be surprising. Big Swole and Hobbs can still be totally right.
Imagine if you’re Hobbs and you sit down and write out your nuanced, real feelings about an issue you care about in your job. Some people’s immediate reaction is that you couldn’t have written it and/or that you allowed your name to be slapped on something you don’t agree with. Every variation of it is insulting to him.

Ruby Soho On Big Swole And Tony Khan: “I can only speak from my personal perspective,” she said. “My personal perspective and my experience has showed me with Tony (Khan), Tony giving me a lot of creative freedom to be able to be the exact person that I want to be and to represent myself, the exact way that I want to be represented."
“That’s really all I can speak to, and that’s the experience that I have,” Ruby added. “Having the creative freedom that I was not granted before and to be trusted. I’m grateful for that and that’s something as a performer that I do not take for granted by any means.
