Today in Ring of Honor History: February 12 - 2017: Ring of Honor held "The Experience" in Columbus, OH. The concept was similar to Cyber Sunday, with fans voting on matches and stipulations. As a result, The Kingdom ended up defending the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship against one of the most random trios in ROH history: Jay Briscoe, Chris Sabin and Cheeseburger. A Proving Ground match between Lio Rush and ROH World Television Champion Marty Scurll saw the fans vote for a Two out of Three Falls match, while the grudge match between Jay Lethal & Bobby Fish against Bullet Club's Adam Cole & Adam Page saw them vote for a Falls Count Anywhere match. In two first time ever matches, Dalton Castle took on secret Boy cosplayer Cody, while The Young Bucks defended the ROH World Tag Team Championship against War Machine. Scarlett Bordeaux made her final appearance, taking on Kelly Klein in a grudge match to end their feud that began in May 2016. In between matches, Larry Mercer hosted live Q&A sessions with the wrestlers. - 2021: ROH aired their latest episode of television from Baltimore, MD. After the chaotic ending to the previous week's episode, The Foundation decided to split in two and team with Fred Yehi and Wheeler Yuta respectively in a Six-Man Tag Team match to prove Ring of Honor is about pure, clean wrestling. LSG took on Tony Deppen, who pinned him in a Four Corner Survival match at "Final Battle 2020". And Quinn McKay tried to play peacemaker for Gilligan and the Skipper, a.k.a. The Briscoes.

Today in Ring of Honor History: February 13 - 2010: Ring of Honor held the "8th Anniversary Show" in New York, NY. After what felt like 57 tries, Tyler Black finally won the ROH World Championship. Following their one hour draw in a blizzard at "Final Battle 2009", Black faced Austin Aries in a rematch for the title, this time with Jim Cornette, Roderick Strong and Kenny King acting as judges to decide a winner if it went to another draw. Earlier in the night, Strong took on returning Founding Father Brian "Spanky" Kendrick in their only singles match ROH. Colt Cabana and Kevin Steen met in the first match of the year-long Steen/Generico feud. Meanwhile, El Generico seemed to finally earn Davey Richards' respect following their nearly year-long feud in 2009. The Dark City Fight Club challenged The Briscoes for the ROH World Tag Team Championship. And Necro Butcher teamed with Eddie Kingston to take on The Embassy in a No Disqualification match that featured Necro's mentor, hardcore wrestling pioneer Gypsy Joe.

Today in Ring of Honor History: February 14 - 2004: Ring of Honor held the "Second Anniversary Show" in Braintree, MA. The focus of the show was an eight-man tournament to crown the first ROH Pure Wrestling Championship. AJ Styles won the tournament, beating CM Punk in the finals. In a move that was famously reused during his feud with Jeff Hardy in WWE, Punk started the show coming out dressed like Christopher Daniels to fake out the fans and continue building the feud between the Second City Saints and The Prophecy. Also taking part in the tournament were the returning Doug Williams, Field of Honor tournament winner Matt Stryker, Chris Sabin, John Walters, Josh Daniels, and AJ Styles' protegee Jimmy Rave. The creation of the title began an instant rivalry with Samoa Joe, who felt the title was only created because no one could defeat him for the ROH World Championship. On the show, Joe defended his title against Low Ki, and The Prophecy's Dan Maff and BJ Whitmer in a Four Corner Survival match. The Briscoe Brothers defended the ROH Tag Team Championship against The Backseat Boyz. While Trent Acid would continue on in ROH as a singles wrestler for the rest of 2004, this would be Johnny Kashmere's last match, making it the last appearance of The Backseat Boyz in ROH. The feud between Carnage Crew and Special K became extra personal with the introduction of DeVito's daughter. There were also several promos sent into the show, with the likes of recently released WWE wrestler and ROH Founding Father Spanky (last seen in 2002), Jerry Lynn, and the returning Dusty Rhodes, as well as the first on-screen appearance of future ROH World Television Champion and multi-time ROH World Tag Team Champion Bobby Fish.

Man, I remember the day that "Terry Funk ain't wear no mouth piece" promo dropped. Those 2012 Briscoe promos were the hottest thing they had in Steen's absence.
Also, a few days late but that 2017 The Experience show is an absolute blast to watch. I got it as a random inclusion in one of those ROH boxing day mystery boxes and I'm so glad I did. The Larry Legend hosted Q&As are a hoot, especially the Dalton Castle and Christopher Daniels ones. Plus, Cody vs Dalton is really, really good. A hidden gem in a great era of the company.

Today in Ring of Honor History: February 16 - 2007: Ring of Honor kicked off a six-show anniversary celebration with "Fifth Year Festival: NYC" in a New York, NY. The show was the start of the "Samoa Joe Farewell Tour", and saw Samoa Joe take on Pro Wrestling NOAH's Takeshi Morishima in his ROH in-ring debut. The match was the first in Joe's feud with NOAH, which thanks the TNA pulling Joe from ROH, they were now having to do the short, short version (to steal a phrase from Spaceballs). Morishima's first appearance in ROH was at "Glory by Honor V: Night 2" [9/16/06], where he got into an altercation with Joe following an in-ring tribute to legendary Japanese referee Joe Higuchi. At "The Bitter End" [11/4/06], Joe slapped KENTA as a message to NOAH, but after receiving no response, Joe took a less subtle approach and issued a direct challenge to NOAH at "Final Battle 2006" [12/23/06], resulting in the match with Morishima. Homicide defended the ROH World Championship against Jimmy Rave in a match that saw Rave bust out the banned Rave Clash (more on that tomorrow). Christopher Daniels and Matt Sydal defended the ROH World Tag Team Championship against Austin Aries and Roderick Strong in what turned out to be the last stand for the former Generation Next. Following the match, Strong turned on Aries and joined with Davey Richards to form the No Remorse Corps. As part of his larger feud with Jimmy Jacobs, BJ Whitmer took on Brent Albright in ROH's first "Tables Are Legal" match (where unlike tradition Table matches, you don't win by putting your opponent through a table, you just aren't disqualified for using them). And former ROH Champion Xavier made what would be his final appearance in Ring of Honor as the surprise participant in a Four Way Fray. [Xavier was scheduled to return for "Past vs. Present" in March 2020, but the show was canceled due to the COVID pandemic, and Xavier passed away a few months later.] - 2013: ROH held "Honor vs. Evil" in Cincinnati, OH. With most of the buildup heading into the "11th Anniversary" done on television, the show was mainly made up of exhibition matches. In the namesake match, Ring of Honor All-Stars Davey Richards, Michael Elgin and ROH World Television Champion Adam Cole teamed up to face S.C.U.M. in a Six-Man Elimination Tag Team match. Mark Briscoe took on longtime indy wrestler Nate Webb, a supporting player in the ROH/CZW feud. Semi-retired since 2008, the match was Webb's first in over two years, and unfortunately it clearly showed. Charlie Haas took on Pepper Parks (a.k.a. AEW's The Blade), Roderick Strong faced newcomer ACH, and BJ Whitmer took on Kyle O'Reilly, who was steadily growing douchier as one-half of reDRagon. The only bit of real story progression was when Truth Martini hosted the premiere episode of "Hoopla Uncut" (with what I believe is the debut appearance of Scarlett Bordeaux), featuring an interview Adam Cole his upcoming ROH World Television Championship match against Matt Taven. You could say the segment hasn't aged that well in the past nine years…but most would argue it was just bad to begin with.

Today in Ring of Honor History: February 17 - 2007: Ring of Honor held "Fifth Year Festival: Philly" in a Philadelphia, PA. In his second night in the promotion, Takeshi Morishima beat Homicide to win the ROH World Championship. As a promotion that actually paid attention to continuity, Jimmy Rave was suspended for using the banned Rave Clash the night before, but Samoa Joe, who had some pull backstage due to the "Samoa Joe Farewell Tour", got them to left the suspension because he wanted revenge on Rave for attacking him at "Final Battle 2006". The war between former Generation Next member Austin Aries and Roderick Strong heated up, with Aries vowing to form his own new faction. Jack Evans, not wanting to take sides but also not wanting to be left out of the fun of gang warfare, decided he should start a new group too. In addition to his feud with Aries, Strong went and started another one when he defended the FIP Heavyweight Championship against Delirious. Jimmy Jacobs and Lacey teamed with Adam Pearce to take on Colt Cabana, BJ Whitmer and Daizee Haze in a Street Fight, with Cabana and Jacobs both getting something they weren't expecting that night. And there was a PWG invasion as Nigel McGuinness took on the returning TJ Perkins (who made several appearances as Puma in 2005), while The Briscoes took on the returning Kevin Steen and El Generico in their first ever match against each other. Steen and Generico came looking for full time spots on the roster, and the fans thought they should have them. - 2012: ROH held "Rise & Prove", their debut show in Cincinnati, OH. The show featured mini tag team tournament, with the winners (rise) getting a future Proving Ground match for the ROH World Tag Team Championship (prove). Included in the tournament were the returning Alabama Attitude and Australian wrestlers TMDK, who years later would go on to be known as The Mighty in NXT. The Briscoes defended the ROH Tag Team Championship against "Team Mouthpiece" Davey Richards and Kyle O'Reilly. At "Homecoming 2012" [1/20/12], Eddie Edwards was booked to faced Roderick Strong in a No Holds Barred match, but was sidelined with a staph infection. Adam Cole took his place in the match that night, which ended with him being attacked by Michael Elgin. As a result, on this night the now medically cleared Edwards got his No Holds Barred match against Strong, while Cole and Elgin met in their first ever singles match against each other. And Cincinnati wrestler and former longtime ROH staple BJ Whitmer made his return after four years, taking on ROH World Television Champion Jay Lethal in a Proving Ground match.

Today in Ring of Honor History: February 19 - 2005: Ring of Honor held "Do or Die IV" and the "Third Anniversary Celebration: Part 1" in Elizabeth, NJ. The shows turned out be ROH's last in the RexPlex, one of ROH's most prominent locations since 2003. Their last night in the building turned out to be one ridiculously long night of wrestling with twenty matches taking place (clocking in at nearly 5 1/2 hours just on DVD). The double main event of the Anniversary show was back to back cage matches. Austin Aries defended the ROH World Championship against Colt Cabana to end their feud which began with the war between the Second City Saints and Generation Next, while the last match of the night was the third and final Scramble Cage match, where platforms were placed over the corners of the cage in order for wrestlers do to dives off them. Featuring the Carnage Crew, Generation Next, The Ring Crew Express, and both warring halves of Special K, the stipulation for the match was the team that was pinned/submitted would suspended for 90 days. Thus the Carnage Crew wound up spending three months at home with their ugly wives and nagging kids thanks to longtime frenemies the Ring Crew Express, which ignited a feud between them that would last until August. Dan Maff and BJ Whitmer not only defeated The Rottweilers to win the ROH World Tag Team Championship, they finally got out from under the thumb of Allison Danger, ended their feud with her which began when they abandoned "The Prophecy" name. It was feuds galore for the rest of the show, with Bryan Danielson and Homicide competing in the second match of their Best of Five Series, Jay Lethal wresting back-to-back matches against The Embassy in an effort to win the ROH Pure Championship, Alex Shelley trying to show he'd turned a new leaf in a match against former friend turned hated rival Jimmy Jacobs, Steve Corino taking on Roderick Strong in a grudge match, and the final showdown between Samoa Joe and Mick Foley. The plan was for Joe to face a mystery WWE Superstar, who would ultimately turn out to be Foley, but after Mick ended up kicking his own ass at "It All Begins" [1/15/05], Foley went out and got the man, the myth, the (new hardcore) legend himself, Ebessan Jack! Oh yeah, it was also legendary Japanese comedic wrestler Kikutaro's [then still Ebessan] debut appearance. Even one of the two exhibition matches resulted in a feud when, after a loss to Spanky, that fool CM Punk went and put his common hands on Prince Nana. That act of disrespect would lead to a match between Punk and Jimmy Rave at the "Third Anniversary Celebration: Part 3" [2/26/05] and heated feud that lasted for months. "Do or Die IV" was both a regular Do or Die as well as a showcase for ROH's sister promotion Full Impact Pro, and featured a number of notable appearances. In a true "Before They Were Stars" appearance, Homicide defended the FIP Heavyweight Championship against Antonio Banks, who would debuted in WWE a year and a half later as Montel Vontavious Porter. Due to FIP being sort of a bizzaro world to ROH, the follow up was a bit awkward in terms of the overall night. Following the match, CM Punk, who for the rest of the evening was a babyface, attacked Homicide, who for the rest of the night was a heel, and stole his title, because in FIP Homicide's the face and Punk's the heel. Of the wrestlers who made their debuts on the show, the two that would go on to have the biggest success in ROH (and pro wrestling in general) were Kevin Steen and El Generico [though technically Generico made his debut as "Final Battle 2004" as The Weapon of Mask Destruction #2]. Also appearing on the show were prominent indy wrestlers B-Boy and Arik Cannon, as well as the two men who open ROH's debut show, the Christopher Street Connection, it what was their final appearance. - 2016: ROH traveled to Tokyo, Japan to partner with New Japan Pro Wrestling for night one of the first ever "Honor Rising". Roderick Strong's ROH World Television Championship reign came to a shocking end when his "Roddy vs. The World" Tour brought him face to face with Tomohiro Ishii. ROH World Champion Jay Lethal teamed with Los Ingobernables de Japon's Tetsuya Naito to take on IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada and YOSHI-HASHI of CHAOS. Bullet Club's Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows faced The Briscoes, while The Elite of the Bullet Club took on reDRagon and Katsuyori Shibata in a Six-Man Tag Team match. And in a match that makes you question the booking, Delirious took on Gedo. - 2021: ROH aired their latest television episode from Baltimore, MD. Following the cancelation of the their match at "Final Battle 2020" due to COVID, Shane Taylor Promotions finally got their shot at MexiSquad and the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship. Mike Bennett took on Bateman to continue the feud between The OGK and The Righteous, while The Briscoes wrestled La Facción Ingobernable in a match to determine the #1 Contenders for the ROH World Tag Team Championship. And EC3 made his return from COVID.

Do Or Die IV and Third Anniversary Celebration Night 1 are the first and second ROH shows I ever attended! I have a handful of vague recollections from the day: 1. Vordell Walker was very over on the Do Or Die card, getting a "PLEASE COME BACK!" chant. Then on 3rd Anni. he basically got squashed in minutes. 2. In between shows, I was chilling with my friends at the RexPlex's food court, and I saw Austin Aries walking through with some other wrestlers and got a little starstruck. He caught me staring at him and gave an apprehensive wave. I waved back before snapping out of my haze and getting back to the conversation with my friends. 3. The day before I was at CHIKARA's Tag World Gran Prix Night 1, wearing bandanas on my legs like the Ring Crew Express. It was a very small show and I was in the front row so they easily noticed me. The next night (3rd Anni.), I wore the bandanas on my legs again and briefly talked with Marcos during the intermission. That was cool. Even cooler was seeing my boys in RCE win the main event! 4. After the show, I was hanging out with my friends outside the RexPlex and wound up meeting HMARK Center, the guy from this very forum! I was young and awkward and the conversation was brief. Still, we've met!

Today in Ring of Honor History: February 20 - 2016: New Japan Pro Wrestling and Ring of Honor closed out the first "Honor Rising" in Tokyo, Japan. ROH World Champion Jay Lethal joined Los Ingobernables de Japon after they helped him retain his title against Tomoaki Honma. The Elite won the NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team Championship from Toru Yano & The Briscoes. Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows wrestled their last matches for New Japan before heading to WWE. And in a questionable booking decision, someone decided Delirious and Gedo should team up to face Jushin Liger and Matt Sydal.

Today in Ring of Honor History: February 21 - 2014: Ring of Honor returned to its original home of Philadelphia, PA for the "12th Anniversary". In the double main event, Adam Cole defended the ROH World Championship against the recently returned Chris Hero, while the final match of the night was an unsanctioned Street Fight between Kevin Steen and Cliff Compton. AJ Style and Jay Lethal, despite having similar styles and both being in the promotion at the same time for a number of years, wrestled each other for the first time ever in ROH. After winning a Proving Ground match at "State of the Art" [2/8/14], Adrenaline RUSH challenged reDRagon for the ROH World Tag Team Championship. Hanson received his title shot for winning the 2014 Top Prospect Tournament and challenged Tommaso Ciampa for the ROH World Television Championship. "Real ROH World Champion" Jay Briscoe continued his feud with ROH World Champion Adam Cole by taking on his new buddy Michael Bennett. Michael Elgin was scheduled to face Cole's other buddy Matt Hardy, but due to Hardy's flight being cancelled, Elgin took on newcomer Raymond Rowe instead. Before the show, ROH held #HonorCon featuring a Meet & Greet, live Q&A's with the wrestlers, an arm wrestling tournament (made even more entertaining by the antics of reDRagon), and capped off by the major announcement that Ring of Honor had entered into a partnership with New Japan Pro Wrestling, and they would be co-promoting two shows in May. - 2015: ROH held the final night of the "Winter Warriors Tour" in Atlanta, GA. The Briscoes and The Kingdom ended their feud in an Armageddon Two out of Three Falls match, with each fall having a different stipulation. AJ Styles took on Bobby Fish in their only match against each other. In the last stop before their Four Corner Survival match for the ROH World Championship at the "13th Anniversary", Hanson, Michael Elgin and Tommaso Ciampa met in a Six Man Mayhem match that included ROH World Television Champion Jay Lethal, Cedric Alexander and Will Ferrara. Longtime rivals Matt Sydal and Delirious wrestled their first match against each other since Sydal's farewell match in September 2007. ACH took on Moose in a match that was setup at "Winter Warriors Tour: Dayton, OH" [1/31/15]. And after his debut in the inaugural Top Prospect Tournament in 2011 and a dark match in the summer of 2014, Jonathan Gresham made his return to ROH, teaming with Corey Hollis to face The Decade.

Today in Ring of Honor History: February 22 - 2008: Ring of Honor held what became "Eye of the Storm" in Deer Park, NY. Due to a major winter storm in the area, the original card had to be scrapped after a number of wrestlers were unable to attend. Not wanting to do another "Unscripted" so close to the last one ["Unscripted III" - 12/1/07], ROH decided to hold an eight-man tournament, with the winner receiving a future shot at the ROH World Championship. Kevin Steen would win the tournament, beating Pro Wrestling NOAH's Go Shiozaki in the finals. The show was Shiozaki's first in his American excursion that would last for the rest of the year. The other participants included Austin Aries, Bryan Danielson, Delirious, El Generico, Necro Butcher, and Rocky Romero. Zach Gowen became the newest member of The Age of the Fall, replacing Necro Butcher in a tag team match against The Vulture Squad. Human Tornado made his return; originally booked to face Tyler Black, he ended up wrestling Jason Blade, Mitch Franklin and Pelle Primeau in a Four Corner Survival match. And ROH caved into the great Larry Sweeney's demands and gave him a platform where he could pontificate and elaborate upon every important subject in professional wrestling, "The Larry Sweeney Show: Starring Larry Sweeney". - 2014: ROH finished out their weekend in Philadelphia, PA with a television taping. With the "12th Anniversary" done, ROH began the push towards their next big show, "Supercard of Honor VIII" [4/4/14]. After announcing the main event of SoH8 would be a Ladder War to determine the undisputed World Champion, "Real ROH World Champion" Jay Briscoe teamed with his brother Mark Briscoe to take on ROH World Champion Adam Cole and his new ally Michael Bennett. In a first time dream match, Michael Elgin (who everyone was still super stoked on at the time) wrestled AJ Styles to a 30-minute draw. Jay Lethal challenged Tommaso Ciampa for the ROH World Television Championship, in a continuation of their Three-Way match with Matt Taven at "Wrestling's Finest" [1/25/14]. Roderick Strong saw Adam Page as a possible future young boy for The Decade, while Outlaw, Inc.'s attempts to recruit Kevin Steen didn't turn out too well. Takaaki Watanabe (a.k.a. former IWGP Heavyweight Champion EVIL) made his debut in a bonus Four Corner Survival match against Caprice Coleman, Matt Taven and Silas Young. And happy 8th Anniversary to War Machine (a.k.a. The Viking Raiders), who teamed together for the first time, taking on Team Benchmark (Bill Daly and Will Ferrara, in his debut match). - 2019: ROH returned to New Japan to begin what was the last "Honor Rising: Japan" tour, taking place in Tokyo. ROH World Champion Jay Lethal teamed with Kazuchika Okada and Hiroshi Tanahashi to face The Kingdom. Jeff Cobb defended the ROH World Television Championship against Hirooki Goto, while Will Ospreay defended the NEVER Openweight Championship against Dalton Castle. Colt Cabana, Delirious and Cheeseburger challenged Togi Makabe, Ryusuke Taguchi and Toru Yano for the NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team Championship. The Briscoes teamed with Guerrillas of Destiny in an Eight-Man Tag Team match, and Jonathan Gresham teamed with the legendary Jushin Liger.

Today in Ring of Honor History: February 23 - 2002: Day One. Ring of Honor held their debut show "The Era of Honor Begins" at the Murphy Rec Center in Philadelphia, PA. In the main event, Low Ki, Christopher Daniels, and "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson wrestled in a Three-Way match that was awesome then, awesome now, and set the tone for the promotion. Though the obvious choice now, the match was questionable at the time as everyone expected the main event to be the dream match Eddie Guerrero and Super Crazy. 18-year-old Jay Briscoe, backed up by his brother Mark Briscoe (who was too young to legally wrestle in Pennsylvania at the time), took on The Amazing Red in the first official match in ROH. Homicide began his ROH career as one half of the Natural Born Sinner, and brought an end to HC Loc's tenure as "The Extreme Official". Prince Nana, then a wrestler, was one of the first to be disrespected by the fools running ROH, as instead of a top quality opponent, he was stuck wrestling "Towel Boy" Eric Tuttle. Spanky put in a strong showing for Shawn Michaels' Texas Wrestling Academy, winning a contract in a tag team match against fellow TWA student (and Shawn Michaels' cousin) Michael Shane. In a tasteful segment, Da Hit Squad sent the Christopher Street Connection a message their kind wasn't wanted here (the over-the-top gimmick part, not the gay part). Xavier, back when people still like him, began a rivalry with Scoot Andrews that would last until August. And dissention quicky rose between Mikey Whipreck's students, when ROH's first super flippy high flying match saw The S.A.T. accidently turn on their cousin and partner Amazing Red, while Chris Divine and Quiet Storm turned on their regular partner Brian XL (who Whipwreck didn't care for because he's not his student). The match set the stage for the creation of the Tag Team Scramble match, the formation of Special K, and a feud that one year later was still going strong ["One Year Anniversary Show" - 2/8/03] - 2007: Five years to the day of their first show, ROH held "Fifth Year Festival: Dayton" in Dayton, OH. New ROH World Champion Takeshi Morishima made his first title defense, taking on hometown(ish) hero BJ Whitmer. The "Samoa Joe Farewell Tour" saw Samoa Joe take on Davey Richards in their only singles match in ROH. The match was on the periphery of his feud with Pro Wrestling NOAH, as Richards was the protégé of NOAH star KENTA. Christopher Daniels, Homicide and Jay Briscoe, three of ROH's founding fathers, faced off in a Three-Way match. Matt Sydal defended the Open the Brave Gate Championship against Austin Aries. Nigel McGuinness partnered with Colt Cabana in his match against Jimmy Jacobs and Brent Albright, with Cabana once again being nearly murdered in the ring. Lacey and Daizee Haze wrestler their first singles match against each other in ROH, and Larry Sweeney hired Tank Toland as the new personal trainer for his clients. - 2008: ROH held the "Sixth Anniversary Show" in New York, NY. After steadily losing fan support since winning the ROH World Championship in October, Nigel McGuinness turned full blown heel in a long awaited title defense against Bryan Danielson. No Remorse Corps' Davey Richards and Rocky Romero defended the ROH World Tag Team Championship against The Vulture Squad's Ruckus and Jigsaw; as a added bit of motivation for Jigsaw, Julius Smokes decreed if they don't win the titles he'll have to unmask (an extremely questionable decision). ROH's sister promotions were represented when Roderick Strong defended his newly regained FIP World Heavyweight Championship against Erick Stevens and Necro Butcher in a No Disqualification match, while Sara Del Rey defended the SHIMMER Championship against Daizee Haze. The Age of the Fall took on Delirious and Human Tornado before making another push to sign Austin Aries; also vying for his attention was Tammy Sytch, who was offering a couple of perks AOTF hadn't thought of. And after nearly a year, Allison Danger returned to participate in one of the most controversial moments in ROH history. During an appearance on Larry Sweeney's new talk show, Sweeney (in character) painted Danger as the biggest ring rat in wrestling history, before knocking her out and shoving Bobby Dempsey on top of her. After an outcry from a small percentage online, Gabe Sapolsky apologized for the segment and pulled it from the DVD release, before ultimately restoring it and letting fans judge for themselves. While it was in extremely bad taste, it was nowhere near as bad as it was made out to be (i.e. Dempsey raped Danger). - 2018: ROH returned to New Japan for "Honor Rising: Japan 2018" in Tokyo. Bullet Club was not fine when BC leader Kenny Omega teamed with his Golden Lover partner Kota Ibushi and fellow BC member Chase Owens to take on Bullet Club "leader" Cody, Mart Scurll and Adam Page. Jushin Liger teamed with Delirious and Cheeseburger to take on the Guerrillas of Destiny and their younger brother Hikuleo. Beer City Bruiser challenged Hirooki Goto for the NEVER Openweight Championship. The Young Bucks faced FinJuice, and ROH World Champion Dalton Castle teamed with his upcoming challenger Jay Lethal and Ryusuke Taguchi to face Jay White and Best Friends. - 2019: ROH held their last show in Japan, teaming with New Japan to present the second night "Honor Rising: Japan 2019" in Tokyo. The Briscoes retained the ROH World Tag Team Championship against FinJuice, while the Guerrillas of Destiny beat Los Ingobernables de Japon's EVIL and SANDA to win the IWGP Tag Team Championship, setting up a Title vs. Title match at the co-promoted "G1 Supercard" [4/6/19]. Jay Lethal defended the ROH World Championship against Kingdom member TK O'Ryan, while O'Ryan's stablemates Matt Taven and Vinny Marseglia faced Tetsuya Naito and Shingo Takagi of Los Ingobernables de Japon. Dalton Castle and Jeff Cobb teamed to face Hirooki Goto and Will Ospreay; Jonathan Gresham and Toa Henare faced Zack Sabre Jr. and TAKA Michinoku; and Toru Yano and Colt Cabana faced Delirious and Cheeseburger.

I have absolute zero memory whatsoever of Tammy Sytch and Austin Aries sharing an ROH ring, and I wonder if they'll revisit this in EC3's Control Your Narrative.

Today in Ring of Honor History: February 24 - 2007: Ring of Honor presented the "Fifth Year Festival: Chicago". It was their first show in area not held at the Frontier Fieldhouse, their Chicago home from 2004 to 2017. The show was headlined by two big matches. The final match of the night featured a very emotional Samoa Joe, who was making his final US appearance as a member of the roster, teaming with longtime friend and rival Homicide to face ROH World Champion Takeshi Morishima and Nigel McGuinness. In the semi-main event, Colt Cabana met Jimmy Jacobs in a bloody Windy City Deathmatch to end their violent feud that began with Cabana dating (and dumping) Lacey. After a year of struggle, The Briscoes finally accomplished their goal and defeated Christopher Daniels and Matt Sydal to once again become the ROH World Tag Team Champions. Their third reign would not turn out to be the great success they thought it would.
