As with the night before, the new Pick 6 Contender Series was a large of focus of the show. Roderick Strong managed to hold on to the #2 ranking when his match against the #3 ranked Tyler Black ended in a time limit draw. However, the two of them would be knocked down a peg later on when Kevin Steen defeated Chris Hero to claim the #1 spot. Colt Cabana picked up some momentum heading into his upcoming ROH World Championship showdown ["Reverse the Curse" - 12/5/09], winning a Four Corner Survival match over Delirious, Claudio Castagnoli and Grizzly Redwood. The Briscoes came out on the losing end in a match against The Embassy's Erick Stevens and Joey Ryan, Rhett Titus and Kenny King squared off with The Super Smash Bros., and The Young Bucks took on local tag team The Flatliners. After advancing over Adam Cole and Moose in a Three-Way match the night before, 2011 winner Michael Elgin outlasted ACH, Christopher Daniels, Jay Briscoe and Silas Young to become the first and only two-time Survival of the Fittest winner. ROH World Television Champion Roderick Strong was scheduled to participate in the finals, but had to withdraw due to suffering a concussion the night before. As such, the 2015 tournament become the second Survival of the Fittest to have a Five-Way Elimination match instead of the traditional Six-Way finals ["Survival of the Fittest 2006" - 10/6/06]. In non-tournament action, ROH World Champion Jay Lethal teamed up with fellow House of Truth member Donovan Dijak in a losing effort against reDRagon. AJ Styles took on his one-time tag team partner Matt Sydal, while his Bullet Club teammates The Young Bucks faced off with The All-Night Express. Moose teamed up with War Machine in a Six-Man Tag Team match against The Kingdom. With their respective tag team partners occupied with the finals of Survival of the Fittest, Mark Briscoe and The Addiction's Frankie Kazarian met in a singles match. Dalton Castle squared off with Adam Page, Cedric Alexander took on Will Ferrara, and Cheeseburger wrestled Joey Daddiego. And in a continuation of his feud, BJ Whitmer publicly accused ROH's new commentator Mr. Wrestling 3 of really being a masked Steve Corino, who had been suspended from commentary. - 2021: ROH aired "Honor for All 2021" from Baltimore, MD. ROH World Champion Bandido was in non-title action, ending his feud with his former MexiSquad partner Demonic Flamita in a No Disqualification grudge match. Meanwhile The Foundation's Jonathan Gresham bested VLNCE UNLTD leader Brody King to become the number one contender for the ROH World Championship, earning a shot at the title at "Final Battle 2021: The End of an Era" [12/11/21]. Despite losing, King earned the respect of Gresham, who acknowledge there was honor in violence. Seven years since their first reign, The OGK defeated ROH World Television Champion Dragon Lee and Kenny King of La Facción Ingobernable to once again become the ROH World Tag Team Champions. The OGK won in part due to the assistance of Max the Impaler and Amy Rose, who finally got her revenge on La Facción Ingobernable for violently kicking her out of the group earlier in the year ["19th Anniversary" - 3/26/21]. Holidead came out on top in a Four Corner Survival match against Quinn McKay, Trish Adora and Vita VonStarr to earn a title shot for the ROH Women's World Championship. Today in Ring of Honor History: November 15 - 2013: Ring of Honor held "Pursuit: Night 1" in Dearborn, MI. Following the completion of his Trial Series, Jimmy Jacobs not only earned the his job back in Ring of Honor, but also his first shot at the ROH World Championship in nearly five years ["Eliminating the Competition" - 2/27/09], challenging Adam Cole. Matt Taven made another successful defense of the ROH World Television Championship, retaining against Zach Gowen in what would be his final Ring of Honor appearance. ROH World Tag Team Champions reDRagon and two of their top contenders, Adrenaline RUSH and C&C Wrestle Factory, split up for the night to compete in two Three-Way matches. C&C Wrestle Factory would end up coming out on top in both, with Caprice Coleman winning over ACH and Kyle O'Reilly, while Cedric Alexander won against Bobby Fish and Tadarius Thomas. With their time in Ring of Honor drawing to a close, American Wolves partners Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards both competed in their final singles matches for the promotion, with Edwards facing Jay Lethal, while Richards squared off with his former No Remorse Corps teammate turned longtime rival Roderick Strong one last time. Silas Young's feud with Mark Briscoe would lead him to challenge Jay Briscoe for the "Real ROH World Championship", with the ending of their match spilling over into Mark's match against Michael Elgin. And after losing every single match he'd had in Ring of Honor all year, RD Evans finally picked up a win, besting local wrestler Hakim Zane. He would immediately follow that up with a count out victory over Tommaso Ciampa, his second win in a very long streak.
- 2014: ROH held "Glory by Honor XIII" in San Antonio, TX. The main event saw Texas' own ACH challenge Jay Briscoe for the ROH World Championship. reDRagon made another successful defense of the ROH World Tag Team Championship, retaining against Michael Bennett and Matt Taven of The Kingdom. With an astonishing record of 173-0, RD Evans finally got a shot at a title, challenging Jay Lethal for the ROH World Television Championship. However, on the one year anniversary of its beginning, #TheNewStreak came to a shocking end when Evan's frequent tag team partner Moose, who was in cahoots with Stokely "Ramon" Hathaway, attacked Evans and cost him the match. Besides ruining Evans' streak, for his part on the show Moose competed in a Four Corner Survival match against BJ Whitmer, Hanson and Mark Briscoe. Adam Cole and Christopher Daniels, who would feud over the ROH World Championship years later, squared off in their first singles match. After Adam Page cost Roderick Strong his match against Frankie Kazarian, Strong returned the favor by costing Page his match against Will Ferrara. And Tommaso Ciampa picked up a win over The Romantic Touch.

Today in Ring of Honor History: November 16 - 2002: Ring of Honor held "Scramble Madness" in Wakefield, MA. The show was named after that evening's Tag Team Scramble match, which was the largest one held up to that point. The Whipwreck crew of The Amazing Red, Divine Storm and The SAT joined forces in a 10-Man Scramble against Special K: Izzy, Joey Matthews, and debuting members Deranged, Angel Dust and Slim J. Special K would not be the only faction to grow that night, as The Prophecy and the Carnage Crew both added a new member. Back in Massachusetts where there was no age restriction, 17-year-old Mark Briscoe once again faced off with his older brother Jay Briscoe, this time in a Dream Partner Tag Team match. Jay would choose The Amazing Red as his partner, while Mark turned to the dark side and joined The Prophecy, selecting ROH Tag Team Champion Christopher Daniels as his. Meanwhile the Carnage Crew added Masada to their ranks, teaming with him in a Six-Man Tag Team match against Alex Arion and Texas Wrestling Academy students Don Juan and Fast Eddie Vegas. Besides new faces, the show saw a number of rivalries continue or begin. In the main event, "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson and Doug Williams met in a rematch from "Road to the Title" [6/22/02], this time a 30-min. Iron Man match. Following the loss, Williams challenged Danielson to one more match, the best Two out of Three Falls, but ultimately it did not come to fruition in Ring of Honor (the match ended up taking place at an FWA show in England in June 2003). With their newly created Number One Contender's Trophy, ROH quickly put it to work as a secondary title by having AJ Styles defended it against Christopher Daniels in their second (and final) singles match in Ring of Honor. After taking care of some Prophecy business by beating The Ring Crew Express in a handicap match, Samoa Joe squared off with Homicide in their first ever singles match. Besides being the first singles match of their rivalry, their match was also the first match in the greater Homicide/Corino feud, as Joe challenged Homicide in order to get payback for him stabbing his good friend Steve Corino in the eye with a fork at "All-Star Extravaganza" [11/9/02]. The feud between Paul London and Michael Shane came to a close, with London teaming with their trainer Rudy Boy Gonzalez to defeat Shane and Bio-Hazard in a Street Fight. Alexis Laree continued her feud with the Christopher Street Connection, besting Mace in ROH's first intergender singles match. ROH Champion Xavier was back in non-title action, taking on Jeremy Lopez. And Da Hit Squad pulled out a victory over Tony Mamaluke and Matt Thompson. - 2013: ROH held "Pursuit: Night 2" in Columbus, OH. In the main event, C&C Wrestle Factory challenged reDRagon for the ROH World Tag Team Championship. Their eighth failed attempt trying for the titles, Caprice Coleman and Cedric Alexander saw the writing on the wall and amicably ended their partnership after the loss, going their separate ways to compete as singles wrestlers. Adam Cole held off a potential challenger to his ROH World Championship, defeating ACH in a Proving Ground match. Meanwhile Michael Elgin picked up some momentum heading into the ROH World Championship showdown at "Final Battle 2013" [12/14/13] by winning a Four Corner Survival match over Jay Lethal, ROH World Television Champion Matt Taven and Roderick Strong. Mark Briscoe came up short against Tommaso Ciampa, while his upcoming opponent for Final Battle Silas Young came out on top against Tadarius Thomas. And Jimmy Jacobs rebounded over his ROH World Championship loss the night before with a victory over local wrestler Rik Matrix. The most noteworthy aspect about the show is that it saw the final Ring of Honor appearance of former ROH World Champion Davey Richards, who teamed with his American Wolves partner Eddie Edwards in a losing effort against Outlaw, Inc. It had been known for a while The American Wolves were leaving the promotion, with the original plan being to have their farewell at "Final Battle 2013". However, a few days before the "Pursuit" weekend, the latest issue of Total Wrestling magazine was released, which featured an interview with Richards in which he buried Ring of Honor. Surprisingly the ROH office and locker room weren't too happy about that. In response, Ring of Honor management decided to essentially fire Richards by pulling him from the two "Pursuit" shows and "Final Battle 2013", but he retracted his comments from the magazine and managed to get ROH to allow him back on the shows. Over the course of the weekend, Richards made a speech to the locker room apologizing for what he said in the interview (supposedly stating at one point that what they wrote was incorrect and taken out of context), but it went over like a lead balloon. Ultimate, however, rumblings about Richards being unhappy about the plans for The American Wolves' farewell (Richards & Edwards vs. Roderick Strong & Jay Lethal in a match built off of "Pursuit: Night 1") combined with his habit of being outspoken and sometimes unpredictable led Ring of Honor to once again pull him from "Final Battle 2013". ROH had intended to remain quiet on the reason Richards had been pulled and simply kayfabe it by saying he was injured, but Richards went public after finding out he was no longer booked, leading Ring of Honor to release a statement stating he was removed due to being unprofessional and unreliable. PWInsider's report on the departure of Richards: www.pwinsider.com/ViewArticle.php?id=81915Wrestezone's report on the locker room's reaction: www.wrestlezone.com/news/435281-reaction-to-davey-richards-leaving-rohThe statements from Richards and Ring of Honor on his departure: www.ewrestlingnews.com/news/roh-issues-statement-on-davey-richards-not-happy

Today in Ring of Honor History: November 17 - 2017: Ring of Honor held "Survival of the Fittest 2017: Night One" in San Antonio, TX. The event drew a sold out crowd despite WWE deciding to run a competing NTX show in the same city that night. While the past three Survival of the Fittest tournaments had been held over two night, for the 2017 edition ROH decided to pushed it to the limit, holding it over three nights for the first and only time. In abandoning the two show formula, ROH spread the opening round matches out over the first two nights instead of doing them all in a single day. But even though it was far removed from the original one night format, the 2017 tournament did revert back to one tradition, having only singles matches in the opening rounds instead of multi-man matches. As such, the fans in San Antonio saw Punishment Martinez advance over Jay Lethal, Shane Taylor advance over Beer City Bruiser, and Silas Young advance over his future tag team partner Josh Woods. In the main event, "Green Arrow" actor Stephen Amell made a special appearance, teaming with Bullet Club members Kenny Omega, ROH World Champion Cody, and ROH World Six-man Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks in a 5-on-4 Handicap match against The Addiction, Flip Gordon and Scorpio Sky. Kenny King defended the ROH World Television Championship against disgraced wrestler Joey Ryan, who returned to Ring of Honor for what would be his final weekend. ROH World Tag Team Champions the Motor City Machine Guns and Jonathan Gresham teamed together for the final time as Search and Destroy, coming up short in a Six-Man Tag Team match against The Kingdom. Dalton Castle squared off with Marty Scurll, The Dawgs took on CMLL wrestlers Esfinge and Rey Cometa, and Deonna Purrazzo faced Britt Baker. - 2021: On Women's Division Wednesday, Sumie Sakai took on Ashley Vox.

Today in Ring of Honor History: November 18 - 2011: Ring of Honor held "Survival of the Fittest 2011" in Dayton, OH. After advancing over Adam Cole, Kenny King and Tommaso Ciampa in a Four Corner Survival match in the opening round, Michael Elgin outlasted Eddie Edwards, Jay Briscoe, Kyle O'Reilly, Mark Briscoe, and Elgin's House of Truth teammate 2005 winner Roderick Strong to win Survival of the Fittest for the first time. 2010 winner Eddie Edwards was able to redeem himself from his unfortunate lackluster performance the year before [11/12/10], singlehandedly eliminating Strong and the Briscoes. In non-tournament action, ROH World Champion Davey Richards and ROH World Television Champion Jay Lethal teamed up to face ROH World Tag Team Champions Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team in a Champions' Challenge match, while former enemies El Generico and Steve Corino faced each other one last time, wrestling to a time limit draw. - 2016: After dipping their toe in the water with tours with Preston City Wrestling in 2014 [11/28-11/30] and 2015 [11/27-11/29], Ring of Honor ran their first show in the United Kingdom in nearly ten years ["Fifth Year Festival: Finale" - 3/4/07], kicking off the "Reach for the Sky" tour in Liverpool, England. The show would see the debut of three wrestlers who would have an impact on ROH (albeit one of them a few years later), with Marty Scurll taking on Dalton Castle for the first time, and Joe Hendry facing Donovan Dijak. Will Ospreay would make the biggest impact that night, defeating Bobby Fish to become the new ROH World Television Champion. With the clock counting down to their dates with destiny at "Final Battle 2016" [12/2/16], Bullet Club members ROH World Champion Adam Cole and ROH World Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks came up short in a Six-Man Tag Team match against their respective number one contenders, Kyle O'Reilly and The Briscoes. Jay Lethal and Chris Sabin, who were frequent opponents during their time in TNA, squared off in their first singles match in ROH. And The Addiction had a bad night, with Christopher Daniels falling to Jay White, while Frankie Kazarian lost to Lio Rush. - 2017: ROH held "Survival of the Fittest 2017: Night Two" in Dallas, TX. With Punishment Martinez, Shane Taylor and Silas Young having already advanced to the finals of the Survival of the Fittest tournament, three more wrestlers joined them, with Flip Gordon advancing over Kingdom member TK O'Ryan, Jonathan Gresham advancing over Kingdom member Vinny Marseglia, and Kingdom leader Matt Taven advancing over Cheeseburger. Christopher Daniels wrestled what is to date his last match for the ROH World Championship, challenging Cody in a Texas Death match. Kenny King defended the ROH World Television Championship against longtime indy veteran and Ring of Honor newcomer Scorpio Sky, while the Motor City Machine Guns put the ROH World Tag Team Championship on the line in a Four-Way Tag Team match against The Dawgs, Silas Young and Beer City Brusier, and the CMLL duo of Esfinge and Rey Cometa. A month away from challenging for the ROH World title at "Final Battle 2017" [12/15/17], Dalton Castle teamed with former champion Jay Lethal to take on ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks. Marty Scurll faced off with Josh Woods in an exhibition match. And Deonna Purrazzo ended her feud with Karen Q, besting her in a Street Fight match. Meanwhile, up in Philadelphia, PA, The Briscoes invaded House of Hardcore to attack Tommy Dreamer ahead of their Street Fight against him and Bully Ray at "Final Battle 2017".

Today in Ring of Honor History: November 19 - 2005: Ring of Honor held "A Night of Tribute" in Long Island, NY. The show was held in memory of Eddie Guerrero, who was the main attraction on ROH's debut show ["The Era of Honor Begins" - 2/23/02] and had passed away on November 13. After winning a Three-Way match against AJ Styles and Matt Sydal, Christopher Daniels challenged Bryan Danielson for the ROH World Championship in what was their second and final singles match in Ring of Honor. The match was Danielson's second of the evening as well, as earlier in the show he defeated Azrieal in a non-title match. On the last stop before "Steel Cage Warfare" [12/3/05], Generation Next and The Embassy looked to have a break from their feud for the night, with Austin Aries and Roderick Strong taking on Samoa Joe and Jay Lethal to determine the number one contenders for the ROH Tag Team Championship, while Jimmy Rave faced Davey Andrews. However, Rave jumped Matt Sydal backstage and hung him from a ladder, then attacked Generation Next after their match, giving Strong a Greetings from Ghana (Pedigree) on the entrance ramp. This followed news earlier in the show that Generation Next's valet Jade Chung was out of professional wrestling after Rave attacked her in the parking lot after "Vendetta" [11/5/05], where he gave her a Pedigree, causing her to suffer a broken cheekbone. With their last couple of matches being cancelled due to them destroying each other before the bell, Colt Cabana and Homicide finally faced off in a sanctioned match, albeit a no disqualification one. After trying to cut Cabana's tongue out at "Vendetta", Homicide escalated things in the match by trying to kill Cabana by strangling him with a wire coat hanger. It would not be the last time Homicide tried to murder Cabana. Claudio Castagnoli and Milano Collection A.T. squared off in an exhibition match, The Ring Crew Express took on the new duo of Jason Blade and Kid Mikaze, and Eric Martin became the latest victim to be murdered by Ricky Reyes. - 2011: ROH held "Glory by Honor X" in Chicago Ridge, IL. Having held the title for nearly five months, Davey Richards finally made his second defense of the ROH World Championship in Ring of Honor, retaining against El Generico. Meanwhile, with just over a month to go until their title showdown at "Final Battle 2011" [12/23/11], Richards' estranged tag team partner Eddie Edwards took on his protégé Kyle O'Reily in a warm up match. Two weeks after winning their Proving Ground match [ROH TV: Ep. #12 - taped 11/5/11], The All-Night Express received their title shot against Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team for the ROH World Tag Team Championship. ROH World Television Champion Jay Lethal was the only Ring of Honor champion not to put his belt on the line that night, instead facing Roderick Strong in a Proving Ground match. Now back in ROH for good, The Young Bucks renewed their rivalry with The Briscoes, with the two brother tag teams facing off against each other for the first time in a year and a half [Pro Wrestling Guerrilla - 4/10/10]. Michael Elgin followed up his Survival of the Fittest victory the night before with a win over Adam Cole, Grizzly Redwood and Mike Bennett in a Four Corner Survival match. And after his scheduled match was ruined, Tommaso Ciampa continued his undefeated streak in singles matches by squashing Harlem Bravado. Ciampa initially took on Jimmy Jacobs, but the match was thrown out when ex-ROH wrestler Kevin Steen, who was sitting in the front row after buying a ticket, threw a bottle of water at Jacobs, leading to a brawl pitting Steen against Jacobs and Steve Corino. After being ejected from the building, Steen would return at the end of the show, getting into a fight with ROH World Champion Davey Richards. - 2016: ROH continued the "Reach for the Sky" tour in Leicester, England. After winning the ROH World Television Championship the night before, Will Ospreay received another shot at a Ring of Honor title, teaming with Marty Scurll to challenge The Young Bucks for the ROH World Tag Team Championship. ROH World Champion Adam Cole was in non-title action, facing Chris Sabin in their only singles match ever against each other. Meanwhile, having defeated Sabin the night before, Jay Lethal repeated the feat with the other half of the Motor City Machine Guns, Alex Shelley. Two of ROH's top tag teams faced off for the final time, with reDRagon once again coming out on top against The Briscoes, making them 5-0 against Dem Boys. Despite being on the other side of the ocean, Ring of Honor managed to track down Delirious, having him team with Dalton Castle against The Addiction. Lio Rush and Donovan Dijak met in a rematch from ROH television [Ep. #256 - taped 7/16/16]. And Jay White took on Joe Hendry. - 2017: ROH held "Survival of the Fittest 2017: Night Three" in Oklahoma City, OK. After advancing over Jay Lethal the first night, Punishment Martinez outlasted Flip Gordon, Jonathan Gresham, Matt Taven, Shane Taylor and Silas Young to win the Survival of the Fittest tournament. ROH World Champion Cody was in non-title action, taking on Beer City Bruiser. ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks picked up a win over Vinny Marseglia and Matt Taven of The Kingdom, while their Bullet Club buddy Marty Scurll did likewise over Rhett Titus. Despite getting badly banged up in his Texas Death match for the ROH World title the night before, Christopher Daniels was in action facing the number one contender for the title, Dalton Castle. Having sent their message to Tommy Dreamer at House of Hardcore, the Briscoes returned to ROH, with Jay Briscoe taking on Cheeseburger after interrupting his originally scheduled match. Jay Lethal squared off with Josh Woods. Joey Ryan wrestled his final match in ROH, defeating the returning Kikutaro. And nine years after her last match ["Southern Hostility" - 12/6/08], when she was still known as "Ashley Lane", Madison Rayne returned to Ring of Honor to take on Deonna Purrazzo. - 2021: ROH aired their latest episode television from Philadelphia, PA . One week after losing the ROH World Tag Team Championship, Dragon Lee lost his other title belt when Dalton Castle defeated him to become the new ROH World Television Champion. Mandy Leon came out on top over Allysin Kay and Trish Adora in a Three-Way match to earn a title shot for the ROH Women's World Championship. And former ROH Pure Champion John Walters returned to Ring of Honor for what would be his final appearance, facing Brian Johnson in a Pure Rules match.

Today in Ring of Honor History: November 20 - 2015: Ring of Honor held a television taping in Nashville, TN. Several wrestlers would pull double duty that night, as in addition to recording the last episodes before "Final Battle 2015" [12/18/15], ROH held a special "Christmas Surprise" 10-Man Tag Team match, which saw ROH World Television Champion Roderick Strong lead Cedric Alexander, Mark Briscoe, Matt Jackson and Moose to victory over ROH World Champion Jay Lethal, Adam Page, Cheeseburger, Cliff Compton (in his final ROH match) and Jay Briscoe. Strong would also make a successful defense of the TV title, retaining against Samson Walker. The Briscoes and The Young Bucks added another chapter to their long rivalry, with the Bucks walking away the winner. After the match, the two teams would get into a brawl with The All-Night Express, setting up a Three-Way showdown at "Final Battle 2015" with the number one contendership for the ROH World Tag Team Championship on the line. For their part on the show, The All-Night Express took on Donovan Dijak and Ken Phoenix. With their Best of Five series concluded ["Survival of the Fittest 2015: Night One" - 11/13/15], Matt Sydal and ACH resumed teaming together, with the two defeating Roppongi Vice. Following their loss to reDRagon, Silas Young and Beer City Bruiser were attacked by Dalton Castle, who made an appeal to get The Boys back. However, The Boys turned him down, choosing to leave with Young. Young would get payback on Castle later that night, attacking him with the help of The Boys after Castle's match against "P-Dawg" Mike Posey. Adam Cole defeated Corey Hollis, War Machine squashed The Washington Bullets, and Caprice Coleman squared off with Will Ferrara. Former ROH World Champion Jerry Lynn made a special appearance to give his thoughts on the upcoming World title match between Jay Lethal and AJ Styles. And the mystery of the masked man who cost The Addiction the ROH World Tag Team Championship at "All-Star Extravaganza VII" [9/18/15] was finally revealed, with Chris Sabin being shocked to learn it was his former Motor City Machine Guns partner Alex Shelley. - 2016: ROH closed out the "Reach for the Sky" tour in London, England. Will Ospreay went down in history as having the shortest ROH World Television Championship reign history, as after only two days as champion, he lost the title in his first defense to Marty Scurll. Jay Lethal finally received his rematch for losing the ROH World Championship ["Death Before Dishonor XIV" - 8/19/16], challenging Adam Cole in the main event. The Briscoes and ROH World Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks added yet another chapter to their long rivalry, this time with the Briscoes walking away the winners in a non-title match. One year after his shocking return, the Motor City Machine Guns defeated Chris Sabin's former friends The Addiction. Kyle O'Reilly took on New Zealand wrestler Travis Banks, Dalton Castle faced Lio Rush, and Jay White and Donovan Dijak squared off in a rematch from "Glory by Honor XV: Night 2" [10/15/16]. - 2020: ROH aired their latest episode of television from Baltimore, MD. Today in Ring of Honor History: November 21 - 2008: Ring of Honor held "Escalation" in Dayton, OH. The show was the start of Adam Pearce's second weekend as booker, and coincidentally saw an escalation of questionable booking decisions. Heading into the show the advertised main event was Nigel McGuinness defending the ROH World Championship in a Three-Way match against Austin Aries and Tyler Black. However, due to the unpredictable nature of multi-man title matches, which can see a champion lose the title without being the one pinned or submitted, McGuinness announced to the fans he was changing the match to be non-title in order to ensure he was still the ROH World Champion when he faced Bryan Danielson at the pay-per-view taping in Chicago the next night. As such, this would be the second Dayton show in a row where a wrestler basically flat out told the fans Chicago is more important ["Battle for Supremacy" - 6/27/08]. Despite being a blow to the fans, the move was a smart one for McGuinness, as Aries would win the match by pinning Black. With the World title match cancelled, the only title match the fans would see was Kevin Steen and El Generico defending the ROH World Tag Team Championship against Jimmy Jacobs and Delirious of The Age of the Fall. The champions would retain after Steen, a babyface, hit a low blow on Delirious, a heel, when the referee wasn't looking. As part of the ongoing feud pitting Sweet n' Sour, Inc. against pretty much all of Ring of Honor, Chris Hero was given the opportunity to prove he really was "That Young Knockout Kid" by facing Roderick Strong in a Lights Out match (a Last Man Standing match). Strong would seeming have the match won after knocking out Hero with his own loaded elbow pad, but the match would be thrown out when all of Sweet n' Sour, Inc. ran out and attacked Strong before the referee could count Hero out. With Hero's match ending in a no contest, Sweet n' Sour, Inc. would have a record of 1-1-1 for the night, as Go Shiozaki won a Four Corner Survival match over Grizzly Redwood, Rhett Titus and the debuting Sami Callihan, while Davey Richards came up short in a singles match against Brent Albright. Bryan Danielson squared off with Castagnoli in a grudge match. And a year after their last appearance ["Man Up" - 9/15/07], Irish Airborne returned to Ring of Honor, losing their fourth and final match against The Briscoes.

Today in Ring of Honor History: November 22 - 2008: Ring of Honor held "Rising Above 2008", their final pay-per-view taping of the year, in Chicago Ridge, IL. The biggest news of the show would be the one night return of ROH icon Samoa Joe, who took on Tyler Black in special dark match, their first time facing each other. Joe would not be the only one returning on the show. During the brutal feud ending "I Quit" match between Austin Aries and Jimmy Jacobs, Lacey made her surprise return after a seven month absence to support Aries. In the process, Lacey would create a rift between Jacobs and Tyler Black, who was acting as Jacobs' second, that would eventually lead to the end of their partnership. Heading into the match The Age of the Fall had decided that if Jacobs was to get in trouble without a way out, Black would throw in the towel for him, thereby saving Jacobs from the shame of having to quit to Aries. However, when the time came to do so, Lacey stopped Black from throwing in the towel, leaving Jacobs no choice but to say he quits. Lacey's appearance during the "I Quit" match would be her last in ROH, until returning one final time during Jacobs' farewell match at "Supercard of Honor IX" [3/27/15]. There would be one more return on the pay-per-view, as Roderick Strong and Brent Albright's mystery partner in their Six-Man Tag Team match against Sweet n' Sour, Inc. was revealed to be former Second City Saint member Ace Steel, who was making his first appearance in ROH since "The Chicago Spectacular: Night Two" [12/9/06]. The night's title matches saw the continuation of two of the greatest rivalries in Ring of Honor history, as Nigel McGuinness defended the ROH World Championship against Bryan Danielson, while Kevin Steen and El Generico defended the ROH World Tag Team Championship against The Briscoes. The SHIMMER Championship was on the line as well, as MsChif defended the title against former champion Sara Del Rey in a rematch from "SHIMMER: Volume 18" [4/26/08]. Claudio Castagnoli won a Four Corner Survival match over Alex Payne, Sami Callihan and Alex Payne. And Delirious ended his feud with Rhett Titus, defeating him in a bonus grudge match. - 2011: Bison Smith, who competed in Ring of Honor from January 2009 until March 2010 as a member of The Embassy, passed away at the age of 40. - 2014: ROH held their last television taping of the year in Baltimore, MD. The taping would see the return of the Tag Wars tournament, which was last held in 2010 [8/28/10]. ROH World Champion Jay Briscoe and his brother Mark Briscoe advanced to the finals by defeating ROH World Television Champion Jay Lethal and J. Diesel of The House of Truth, while The Addiction would advance over Jimmy Jacobs and BJ Whitmer of The Decade, and Matt Sydal and ACH advancing over The Young Bucks. However, all three teams would fall during the finals, with reDRagon outlasting them in a Four-Way Elimination Tag Team match to retain the ROH World Tag Team Championship and win the tournament. ROH founding father Brian Kendrick returned for what would be his final main show match, facing Adam Cole in their only match together [Kendrick's final ROH match period would be an online exclusive match against Will Ferrara at the television taping on February 27, 2016]. Following their encounter a week earlier at "Glory by Honor XIII" [11/15/14], Hanson took on Michael Elgin in their only singles match ever against each other. Cedric Alexander squared off with Tommaso Ciampa in a No Disqualification rematch from the November 8 episode of television [taped 10/25/14]. Roderick Strong took on Papadon, and Brutal Burgers faced Caprice Coleman and Will Ferrara.

Today in Ring of Honor History: November 24 - 2006: Ring of Honor held "Black Friday Fallout" in Lake Grove, NY. The show's name came from it being held on Black Friday. One night before their match challenging for the ROH World Tag Team Championship, Christopher Daniels and Matt Sydal looked to pick up some momentum by taking on Delirious and Davey Richards. Meanwhile, the Kings of Wrestling defended the Tag Team Championship against Austin Aries and Roderick Strong, who were getting their final shot at the titles in a No Disqualification match. Jay Briscoe and Samoa Joe squared off in their first singles match since their bloody Steel Cage match over two and half years earlier ["At Our Best" - 3/13/04], while Mark Briscoe took on Shingo in an exhibition match. Jimmy Rave scored an upset over Homicide, bringing an end to his four-month long losing streak. Nigel McGuinness won a Gauntlet match over BJ Whitmer, Brent Albright, Jason Blade, Jimmy Jacobs and Pelle Primeau. Today in Ring of Honor History: November 25 - 2006: Ring of Honor held "Dethroned" in Edison, NJ. The show was named after the Kings of Wrestling, who had been having a rough go of it lately. Just two weeks prior they were simultaneously the ROH World Tag Team Champions, CZW World Tag Team Champions, and CHIKARA Campeonatos de Parejas. However, they lost the CZW titles on November 11, then lost the CHIKARA titles on November 17. That night in Edison, their fall from grace was complete when Christopher Daniels and Matt Sydal defeated them to become the new ROH World Tag Team Champions. Despite being the show's namesake, their match was not the main event of the evening. That spot went to Samoa Joe and Homicide, who ended their feud with The Briscoes in a Falls Count Anywhere Elimination Street Fight. Roderick Strong made the first defense of his newly won FIP Heavyweight Championship [FIP "All or Nothing" - 11/10/06], retaining it against Shingo in an "Anything Goes" grudge match. Davey Richards scored what was then the biggest win in his Ring of Honor career, besting former ROH World Champion Austin Aries in a rematch from "Glory by Honor V: Night 1" [9/15/06]. Nigel McGuinness and Jimmy Rave squared off in a hard fought match built off their tag team encounter at "The Bitter End" [11/4/06]. The two seemingly settled their issues after the match, but it all came undone when McGuinness threw a roll of toilet paper at Rave. While McGuinness clearly meant it as a joke, Rave didn't take it that way, and immediately left the building in anger. BJ Whitmer and Jimmy Jacobs were scheduled to take part in a grudge match, but it was never officially started as the two nearly killed the referee when he foolishly tried to stop them from killing each other. Their encounter did see one major development in their feud, as former Embassy valet Daizee Haze officially turned babyface again by coming to Whitmer's aid when he was attacked by Lacey. In doing so, Haze reignited her rivalry with Lacey, which would continue until Lacey left Ring of Honor in 2008. Delirious took on Jason Blade, Brent Albright faced El Generico (who was making his first appearance since "Dragon Gate Invasion" [8/27/05]), and Shane Hagadorn put the Top of the Class Trophy on the line in a match with Bobby Dempsey.

Today in Ring of Honor History: November 26 - 2021: Ring of Honor aired their latest episode of television from Philadelphia, PA. Rok-C made a successful defense of the ROH Women's World Championship, retaining against Gia Scott. While she had already made half a dozen title defenses in other promotions, due to the limitations on ROH conducting matches during the COVID pandemic, this was the first time Rok-C defended the belt in Ring of Honor since winning it at "Death Before Dishonor XVIII" [9/12/21]. The Briscoes took on Danhausen and PCO. And in the main event, Jay Lethal squared off with EC3. If Lethal hadn't replaced Bandido in the main event of "Final Battle 2021: End of an Era" [12/11/21], this would've been his last match in the pre-Tony Khan Ring of Honor as by the time it aired he had already left the promotion and signed with All Elite Wrestling.

Today in Ring of Honor History: November 28 - 2003: Ring of Honor kicked off their first double shot weekend with "The Conclusion" in Fairfield, CT. The show was named after the main event, where after two failed attempts ["Death Before Dishonor" - 7/19/03; "Beating the Odds" - 9/6/03], the eight month long feud between Raven (in his final ROH appearance) and CM Punk at last came to an end. To determine the stipulation for their last encounter, a "Lottery from Hell" was held, which resulted in them facing in a Steel Cage match. Having learned from their mistakes with the disastrous "Clockwork Orange House of Fun" Cage match at "Beating the Odds", this time ROH kept it simple with a traditional Cage match. Despite being named in reference to the Raven match, the feud was largely an afterthought on the show, as much of the night was instead focused on Punk trying to discover who attacked Lucy at "Wrath of the Racket" [8/9/03], with him repeatedly appearing throughout the show to question various wrestlers. One night before their scheduled title match against each other, ROH World Champion Samoa Joe and Number One Contender Trophy holder AJ Styles teamed up to unsuccessfully challenge the Briscoe Brothers for the ROH Tag Team Championship. Meanwhile, The SAT won a Tag Team Scramble match over the Carnage Crew, Special K (accompanied by special guest Fred the Elephant Boy from The Howard Stern Show) and the Texas Wrestling Academy's Fast Eddie Vegas and Hotstuff Hernandez to become the number one contenders for the Tag titles. In the last stop before their No Rope Barbed Wire match, Homicide won an exhibition match over John Walters, before causing Steve Corino to lose his warm up match against Josh Daniels. In doing so the main event for the next night was thrown in doubt, as (in a worked shoot) an irate Corino quit Ring of Honor, breaking kayfabe and saying ROH screwed him on the finish when he was supposed to go over. The finals of the Field of Honor tournament were set when Matt Stryker defeated Xavier to win Block A, while BJ Whitmer won a Three-Way match against Colt Cabana and Dan Maff to win Block B. Christopher Daniels and Jimmy Rave wrestled the only singles match the two ever had against each other. And The Backseat Boyz squared off against The Outcast Killaz. - 2014: ROH returned to the United Kingdom for the first time in nearly eight years ["Fifth Year Festival: Finale" - 3/4/07], invited over by Preston City Wrestling to take part in the "SuperShow of Honor" tour. Kicking off the first night, reDRagon put the ROH World Tag Team Championship on the line in a Four-Way Tag Team match against PCW's Team Single and ROH's The Briscoes and Roderick Strong and BJ Whitmer of The Decade (marking the last time Strong teamed as part of the group). Adam Cole faced Dave Mastiff for the first time, Delirious took on Mad Man Manson, Tommaso Ciampa squared off with Uhaa Nation, and Joey Hayes won a Six-Way match over ACH, Cedric Alexander, Charlie Garrett, Dean Allmark and El Ligero. In addition to special appearances by the ROH wrestlers, Lance Storm took on Martin Kirby, Paul London wrestled Bubblegum, and former WWE star Brodus Clay battled Michael Elgin. - 2015: ROH took part in PCW's "SuperShow of Honor #2" double header in Preston, England. In the main event of the afternoon show, Doug Williams challenged Jay Lethal for the ROH World Championship, his first time wrestling for the title in eleven years ["Glory by Honor 3" - 9/11/04]. Dave Mastiff put the PCW Championship on the line against Silas Young, while Team Single defended the PCW Tag Team Championship in a Four-Way Tag Team match against PCW's Martin Kirby and Joey Hayes and ROH's reDRagon and War Machine. Adam Cole made his first defense of the PCW Cruiserweight Championship, retaining against Ashton Smith. Roderick Strong won a Six-Way match over Bubblegum, Charlie Garrett, Dave Rayne, El Ligero and Kenny King. Delirious took on Lionheart, Dalton Castle faced Sha Samuels, and Cedric Alexander squared off against Noam Dar. On the evening show, PCW Cruiserweight Champion Adam Cole tried to pick up more gold by challenging Dave Mastiff for the PCW Championship in a 30-minute Iron Man match. He would prove unsuccessful when the match ended in a draw after both wrestlers were disqualified when the match went into overtime. Jay Lethal made another successful defense of the ROH World Championship, retaining against Joey Hayes. Roderick Strong took on Lionheart, Delirious faced Sha Samuels, Kenny King squared off with El Ligero, and Dalton Castle won a Six-Way match over Ashton Smith, Cedric Alexander, Charlie Garrett, Martin Kirby and Silas Young. In addition to the Ring of Honor wrestlers, the show also saw three other special appearances. Scott Hall seconded X-Pac when he teamed with Dave Rayne and The Hooligans in an Eight-Man Tag Team match against Team Single, Bubblegum and Iestyn Rees. And Drew Galloway competed in a singles match against Noam Dar.

Today in Ring of Honor History: November 29 - 2003: Ring of Honor held "War of the Wire" in Framingham, MA. The show was named after the main event, which saw Homicide and Steve Corino face each other in ROH's first No Rope Barbed Wire match. Originally the match was supposed to be the end of their feud, which had been going since "Glory by Honor" [10/5/02], but after losing Homicide went off script and refused to shake Corino's hand. As such, the feud carried on and would last another three years before finally ending at "The Bitter End" [11/4/06]. Samoa Joe made his tenth successful defense of the ROH World Championship, retaining against AJ Styles. Christopher Daniels received what would be his last title shot during his initial run, teaming with Dan Maff to challenge the Briscoe Brothers for the ROH Tag Team Championship. Fans got a preview of the finals of the Field of Honor tournament when Matt Stryker and a noticeably more aggressive BJ Whitmer met in that night's Gauntlet match. Also participating in the Gauntlet were Second City Saints members CM Punk and Colt Cabana, as well as Jimmy Rave (as a result, the Gauntlet saw the first one-on-one meeting between Punk and Rave in ROH). After three failed attempts, John Walters finally got a win over former ROH Champion Xavier. While he may have won the battle, he lost the war as Xavier brutally attacked him post-match with multiple Kanyon-esque chair shots. United against a common enemy, the Carnage Crew, The SAT and former bodyguard Slugger (in his final ROH match) teamed up in a Tag Team Scramble match against Special K. Unfortunately the egos between the Carnage Crew and The SAT ended up costing them the match, as they went so far as to break up each other's pin attempts in order to be the one to win it for their side. The Backseat Boyz took on Fast Eddie Vegas and Hotstuff Hernandez (in the last match of his run in ROH), and Slyk Wagner Brown and April Hunter faced The Outcast Killaz. - 2014: ROH continued their tour with Preston City Wrestling with a "SuperShow of Honor" double header in Preston, England. In the main event of the afternoon show, The Briscoes challenged reDRagon for the ROH World Tag Team Championship. Cedric Alexander took on PCW's Martin Kirby, Adam Cole faced Noam Dar, and ACH wrestled Joey Hayes. Michael Elgin won a non-title match over former WWE star and reigning PCW Champion Chris Masters. Roderick Strong squared off with Paul London. Uhaa Nation won a Four-Way match over BJ Whitmer, El Ligero and Tommaso Ciampa. And in a strictly PCW bout, PCW Cruiserweight Champion Bubblegum teamed with PCW Tag Team Champions Team Single in a Six-Man Tag Team match against Dave Mastiff, Dave Rayne and Mad Man Manson. On the evening show, having failed at winning the ROH World Tag Team Championship, The Briscoes turned their attention to the PCW Tag Team Championship, challenging Team Single. Meanwhile ROH World Tag Team Champion Kyle O'Reilly challenged Bubblegum for the PCW Cruiserweight Championship in a Three-Way match involving Adam Cole, while his partner Bobby Fish competed in a Six-Way match with ACH, Cedric Alexander, Martin Kirby, Noam Dar and Roderick Strong. Delirious and Paul London teamed up to represent Ring of Honor in a tag team match against PCW's Dave Rayne and Mad Man Manson. Tommaso Ciampa took on El Ligero, while in a strictly ROH match Michael Elgin faced off with BJ Whitmer. PCW's Joey Hayes squared off with the legendary Lance Storm. And in a strictly PCW main event, Uhaa Nation won a Three-Way Elimination match over Chris Masters and Dave Mastiff to become the new PCW Champion. - 2015: ROH ended their time in PCW with the final show of "SuperShow of Honor #2" in Preston, England. In the main event, ROH World Champion Jay Lethal and ROH World Television Champion Roderick Strong faced off in their last singles match ever against each other. Adam Cole made another successful defense of the PCW Cruiserweight Championship, retaining against Bubblegum. The match was Bubblegum's second of the night, as earlier he team with PCW Tag Team Champion T-Bone and Iestyn Rees to win a Six-Man Tag Team match over ROH's Delirious and reDRagon. T-Bone would also pull double duty, later teaming with Roy Knight against War Machine. In strictly ROH matches, Dalton Castle and Silas Young carried on their feud in a singles match, while Cedric Alexander took on Kenny King. And in strictly PCW matches, Lionheart squared off with Noam Dar, and Martin Kirby and Joey Hayes faced Ashton Smith and Charlie Garrett.

Today in Ring of Honor History: November 30 - 2007: Ring of Honor held "Reckless Abandon" in Dayton, OH. The on-going faction warfare was to be put on full display that weekend, kicking things off with the main event that night seeing Jack Evans and Ruckus of The Vulture Squad come out on top in a non-title Tag Team Scramble match against ROH World Tag Team Champions The Briscoes, Jimmy Jacobs and Tyler Black of The Age of the Fall, and Brent Albright and BJ Whitmer of The Hangmen 3 (as such, the match marked the first time Jacobs and Whitmer had been in the ring together since their brutal Steel Cage match at "Supercard of Honor II" [3/31/07]). The Briscoes pulled double duty on the show, also defending the Tag titles against Davey Richards and Rocky Romero of the No Remorse Corps in a match taped for the "Undeniable" pay-per-view [10/6/07]. Likewise Richards also pulled double duty, later competing in a Three-Way match against West Coast wrestler Human Tornado and Erick Stevens, who was back in ROH despite still having five days left on his 60 day suspension ["Undeniable"]. Still nursing his bicep tear, ROH World Champion Nigel McGuinness was in non-title action, taking on Silas Young. Austin Aries ended his feud with his former tag team partner Roderick Strong, defeating the No Remorse Corps leader in a 30-minute Iron Man match. Delirious continued his feud against Hangmen 3 leader Adam Pearce by facing him in a Falls Count Anywhere match. Bryan Danielson squared off with The Age of the Fall's Necro Butcher in a "Relaxed Rules" match, Chris Hero of Sweet n' Sour, Inc. took on Jigsaw of The Vulture Squad, and Claudio Castagnoli faced former WWE development wrestler Seth Skyfire. Fans who were not able attend the live show could still get their ROH fix that night with the debut of "Man Up" [taped 9/15/07] on pay-per-view. The show was headlined by The Briscoes defending the ROH World Tag Team Championship against Kevin Steen and El Generico in Ring of Honor's first Ladder War. - 2014: ROH's first tour with Preston City Wrestling came a close with the last night of "SuperShow of Honor" in Preston, England. Michael Elgin challenged Uhaa Nation for his newly won PCW Championship, while in the main event Tommaso Ciampa challenged Jay Briscoe for the ROH World Championship. ROH World Tag Team Champions reDRagon squared off with PCW Tag Team Champions Team Single in a No Disqualification match. Delirious and Paul London wrestled their only match ever against each other. Adam Cole faced former WWE star Chris Masters, Roderick Strong took on Mark Briscoe, and ACH and Cedric Alexander met in a "No Loud Noises" match. - 2021: On Week by Week, Chris Dickinson squared off with Taylor Rust.

Today in Ring of Honor History: December 1 - 2007: Ring of Honor held what would be "Unscripted III" in Chicago Ridge, IL. Following the recent formations of The Hangmen 3 ["Caged Rage" - 8/24/07], The Vulture Squad ["Manhattan Mayhem II" - 8/25/07], and The Age of the Fall ["Man Up" - 9/15/07], the show was originally going to see the climax of the ongoing faction warfare with the 2007 Trios Tournament. Unfortunately weather conditions caused delays for several of the wrestlers driving to the show from Dayton, OH, where the previous night's event was held. While most merely arrived late (with several showing up while the show was in progress), the car carrying Jack Evans, Ruckus, Necro Butcher and Human Tornado crashed, with Evans suffering a concussion while the others were relatively unharmed. As a result, ROH was forced to throw out the entire scheduled card and rebook the show on the fly. The original trios focus of the show was kept for the main event, with ROH World Tag Team Champions The Briscoes teaming up with Erick Stevens to take on the No Remorse Corps in a Six-Man Tag Team match. Bryan Danielson squared off with Age of the Fall leader Jimmy Jacobs, while Austin Aries and Tyler Black faced each other for the first time in ROH. Aries and Black would go on to have a long rivalry in Ring of Honor, with the two facing each other in 35 matches over the next three years. Former tag team partners Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli wrestled their third singles match in three months, this time Two out of Three Falls, with Castagnoli picking up the win yet again. Delirious continued his feud with The Hangmen 3 by taking on BJ Whitmer in a No Disqualification match. The match would see The Hangmen 3 live up to their name, with Adam Pearce and Brent Albright interfering to wrap a steel chain around Delirious' neck and hanging him from the ring. For their part on the show, Pearce teamed with Shane Hagadorn against Top of the Class Trophy holder Ernie Osiris and Alex Payne, while Brent Albright took on Jigsaw, the only member of The Vulture Squad to arrive at the show. SHIMMER Champion Sara Del Rey took on Lacey in non-title match. And the debuting Dingo won a Six Man Mayhem match over Dan Lawrence, Danny Daniels, Seth Skyfire, Silas Young and Trik Davis. Ultimately Ring of Honor would never conduct a makeup Trios Tournament, with faction warfare limping along for the next few months before the stables started to disappear. - 2021: On Women's Division Wednesday, Trish Adora wrestled what is to date her last match in Ring of Honor, taking on Janai Kai.

Today in Ring of Honor History: December 2 - 2016: Ring of Honor held their last major show of the year, "Final Battle 2016", in New York, NY. The show saw ROH abandon Terminal 5 and return to the Hammerstein Ballroom, their first show in the venue since the original "War of the Worlds" [5/17/14]. After years of fighting and feuding, the war between former tag team partners Adam Cole and Kye O'Reilly finally reached its climax, with O'Reilly defeating Cole in a No Disqualification match to become the new ROH World Champion. The Young Bucks defended the ROH World Tag Team Championship against their longtime rivals The Briscoes (and received a challenge from one Matt Hardy), while new ROH World Television Champion Marty Scurll made his first title defense, taking on Dragon Lee and Will Ospreay. The tournament for the newly created ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship came to an end, with The Kingdom besting KUSHIDA, Jay White and Lio Rush (a replacement for ACH) to become the inaugural champions. Former WWE star Cody made his debut and quickly turned heel, cheating to win a singles match against Jay Lethal before antagonizing The Addiction and picking a fight with commentator Steve Corino. Dalton Castle took on Colt Cabana in a grudge match. Silas Young squared off with the legendary Jushin "Thunder" Liger. And Caprice Coleman and The All-Night Express, now rebranded The Rebellion, picked up a win in a Six-Man Tag Team match over the Motor City Machine Guns and Donovan Dijak.

I remember the build up to Final Battle 2016 and myself being very hyped for Kyle to become the new face of ROH. I didn't know any of the backstage stuff. So when I read that Kyle almost immediately lost the title right back to Cole, that really bummed me out.
