I attended the TV taping in 2018. I did not get the appeal of Punishment Martinez and was glad he lost his match. Some drunk fans catcalled Madison and Kelly at the start of their match (which I believe was edited out of the TV broadcast...the catcalling, not the match as a whole). I was excited to see Facade get a shot in ROH (I was also in attendance for his third ever match many years prior), even though it didn't really pan out for him.
I don't have any other vivid memories of the tapings beyond what's covered in the recap.

Today in Ring of Honor History: April 17 - 2009: Ring of Honor held "The Hunt Begins" in Montreal, QC. The show was the first regular event not released in full on DVD. Part of the show was released as half of "Double Feature II", while the other matches were released as bonus content on subsequent releases. A local feud made its way to ROH, as former WWE wrestler Sylvain Grenier teamed with The American Wolves to face the man he'd been having a war of words with, Kevin Steen, who teamed with El Generico and Bryan Danielson. Tyler Black found renewed focus in his feud with Jimmy Jacobs, vowing to rid ROH of him for good. Colt Cabana and Brent Albright teamed up to face their respective rivals Jimmy Rave and Claudio Castagnoli in a grudge match. Kenny Omega scored what was then the biggest win in his ROH career, beating Austin Aries, Jay Briscoe and Roderick Strong in a Four Corner Survival match. LuFisto wrestled her only match in ROH, taking on Daizee Haze. Chris Hero faced local mainstay Frankie the Mobster, and Delirious and Necro Butcher took on Rhett Titus and Kenny King. Those who couldn't attend the live show were able to watch the debut of "Caged Collision" [1/31/09] on pay-per-view.

Today in Ring of Honor History: April 18 - 2008: Ring of Honor held "Tag Wars 2008" in Detroit, MI. Longtime rivals Alex Shelley and Jimmy Jacobs faced each other one last time when the Motor City Machine Guns returned to face The Age of the Fall. One week after being screwed out of winning the ROH World Championship at "Injustice" [4/12/08], Kevin Steen looked to get his hands on Nigel McGuinness in a tag match. In need of help, McGuinness offered Claudio Castagnoli a shot at the title in exchange for being his partner. Jack Evan and Ruckus of The Vulture Squad took on Sweet n' Sour, Inc., while Jigsaw continued the Squad's often overlooked feud with The Age of the Fall by taking on Joey Matthews. Kota Ibushi's US tour saw him team with Austin Aries to face The Briscoes. Delirious took on Necro Butcher in a Falls Count Anywhere match, Silas Young faced Rhett Titus, and future ROH World Champion Michael Elgin made one of his early appearances, competing in a Six-Man Tag Team match. - 2009: ROH held "Tag Title Classic" in Markham, ON. Like "The Hunt Begins" the night before, half the show was released as "Double Feature II", while the other matches were released as bonus material on subsequent DVD releases. The show was named after the main event, which saw Bryan Danielson and Tyler Black wrestled The American Wolves to a time limit draw for the ROH World Tag Team Championship. Delirious fought Jimmy Jacobs in a Street Fight, while Colt Cabana and Brent Albright switched rivals, with Cabana facing Claudio Castagnoli and Albright taking on Jimmy Rave. Necro Butcher got in the ring with Chris Hero, Roderick Strong faced Jay Briscoe, and Player Dos became "Generico Dos" when he filled in for El Generico in his Six-Man Tag Team match with Kevin Steen and Kenny Omega as they took on Austin Aries, Rhett Titus and Kenny King. - 2014: ROH held the debut "Future of Honor" show in Newville, PA. Much like the later weekly YouTube series, the event was a showcase for younger, upcoming wrestlers, and saw appearances from the likes of Moose, Vinny Marseglia and Will Ferrara, as well as Ethan Page and CHIKARA mainstay Tim Donst. Mandy Leon made her pro wrestling in-ring debut, taking on Jenny Rose. Rounding out the card, ROH World Television Champion Jay Lethal faced Jay Diesel in a Proving Ground match, while Adam Cole defended the ROH World Championship against Delirious.

Today in Ring of Honor History: April 19 - 2008: Ring of Honor held "Return Engagement" in Chicago Ridge, IL. The show's names was in reference to two matches, as The Briscoes faced the Motor City Machine Guns one year after their match of the year candidate at "Good Times, Great Memories" [4/28/07], while in the main event Kevin Steen got a rematch against Nigel McGuinness after being cheated in his match for the ROH World Championship at "Injustice" [4/12/08]. The Vulture Squad continued their feud with The Age of the Fall, competing in a Six-Man Tag Team match. Likewise Sweet n' Sour, Inc. continued their feuds against various enemies, with Chris Hero taking on Delirious, while Adam Pearce and Brent Albright faced Claudio Castagnoli and Pelle Primeau. In the last match of his US tour, Kota Ibushi finally scored a victory when he took on El Generico. And Lacey wrestled her final match in Ring of Honor, facing MsChif, Ashley Lane ( Madison Rayne), and perpetual rival Daizee Haze in a Four Corner Survival match, as most of the show was everyone's favorite soap, "As The Age of the Fall Turns". Austin Aries officially stole Lacey away from Jimmy Jacobs, causing him to go crazy and not only start their months long violent feud, but also resulting in Jacobs nearly killing Mark Briscoe. - 2014: ROH held a television taping in Baltimore, MD. AJ Styles suffered his first loss since returning, losing to Michael Elgin in a match for a shot at the ROH World Championship. The title win setup Elgin's showdown with Adam Cole at "Best in the World 2014" [6/22/14]. Cole, meanwhile, found his hands full in facing Jimmy Jacobs and Mark Briscoe in Defy or Deny III (Matt Taven was originally supposed to be in the match, but was "injured" during the course of the tapings). Jay Lethal defended the ROH World Television Championship against Cheeseburger in an open challenge. Lethal teased a second defense against Matt Taven and Tommaso Ciampa, but it was just a ruse by The House of Truth. As part of his effort to get his "Real ROH World Championship" belt back from Matt Hardy, Jay Briscoe took on Hardy's friend Michael Bennett. ACH continued his feud with The Decade by wrestling Roderick Strong. Meanwhile, Caprice Coleman tried to give some advice to The Decade's young boys Adam Page and Tadarius Thomas. Page teamed with BJ Whitmer to take on War Machine. reDRagon faced Cedric Alexander and Andrew Everett, Silas Young felt disrespected by being made to get in the ring Ethan Page, and Moose, Vinny Marseglia and J. Diesel wrestled a "Future of Honor" Showcase match against Team Benchmark and Zizou Middoux. And Eddie Kingston wrestled his final match for ROH, as Outlaw, Inc. finished up their run in a Street Fight against Kevin Steen and Cliff Compton.

Today in Ring of Honor History: April 22
- 2006: Ring of Honor's "Milestone Series" came to a close when they held "The 100th Show" in Philadelphia, PA. After months of build, ROH and CZW finally faced off properly when Samoa Joe, Adam Pearce and BJ Whitmer took on Chris Hero, Necro Butcher and Super Dragon in a wild Six Man War. The match ended in shocking fashion when Claudio Castagnoli, who earlier in the night became the first person Christopher Daniels respectfully shook hands with in ROH, betrayed Ring of Honor and sided with Combat Zone Wrestling. Claudio's betrayal was not the only shocking moment of the night, as Colt Cabana, after months of hard-fought violent matches, lost in just five minutes in his ROH World Championship match against Bryan Danielson. Danielson would end up making a second defense that night against Delirious in a star making performance. The dual victories would start months-long rivalries between Danielson and both wrestlers over the title. Danielson would also add another iconic trait to his persona, leading the fans in the first "You're gonna get your f***ing head kicked in" chant. Delirious, meanwhile, was also pulling double duty that night, having competed earlier in the evening in the "Battle of the Jimmys", a Four Corner Survival match against Jimmy Jacobs, Jimmy Rave and Jimmy Yang. The failed Generation Next/ Rottweilers feud came to a quiet end when Homicide and Ricky Reyes challenged Austin Aries and Roderick Strong for the ROH Tag Team Championship, while Generation Next's feud with The Briscoes continued as Matt Sydal teamed with AJ Styles to face them. And as part of the ROH/CZW feud, fans saw something that no one would probably have ever predicted they see: Jim Cornette debating pro wrestling with Zandig.

Today in Ring of Honor History: April 23 - 2004: Ring of Honor held "Reborn: Stage One" in St. Paul, MN. In the aftermath of the Rob Feinstein Controversy, Total Nonstop Action pulled their contracted talent, most notably Christopher Daniels and ROH Pure Wrestling Champion AJ Styles, from Ring of Honor (the lone exception was CM Punk, who chose ROH over TNA). Combined with stagnant booking and a long delay on home releases, ROH hit the restart button for the first time, revamping old talent, bringing in new talent, and lighting a fire under the promotion…almost literally. In the main event, Homicide challenged Samoa Joe for the ROH World Championship for the second time. After feeling he was cheated out of winning, Homicide turned heel in a shocking moment by throwing a fireball in Joe's face. The ensuing chaos saw a massive brawl featuring most the locker room. The feud between the now leaderless Prophecy and the Second City Saints saw BJ Whitmer have to go it alone against Colt Cabana. CM Punk's issues with Ricky Steamboat continued when he refereed Punk's match against Bryan Danielson (which despite common belief is actually the only time they ever faced each other in Ring of Honor). Back from injury, Alex Shelley displayed a cocky new attitude in a Six Man Mayhem match. The Carnage Crew's search to find out who crapped in their bags ["At Our Best" - 3/13/04] saw them beat the crap out of The Ring Crew Express. Ricky Reyes and Rocky Romero made their debuts, facing the Briscoe Brothers, as did Delirious, Matt Sydal, and his valet Daizee Haze, who continued their rivalry from the Mid-West. John Walters took on Justin Credible, and Matt Stryker wrestled Nigel McGuinness. - 2010: ROH held "Pick Your Poison" in Dayton, OH. The show was named after the feud between Kevin Steen and El Generico, where, in exchange for Steen and Steve Corino agreeing to compete in a Street Fight against Colt Cabana and Generico the next night, Jim Cornette agreed to allow both wrestlers to select each other's opponents for the show. Steen chose Roderick Strong to soften up Generico, while for Steen and Corino, Generico chose the greatest rivals he and Steen had when teaming together, The Briscoes. Kenny King challenged Tyler Black for the ROH World Championship, while Austin Aries and Rhett Titus faced The House of Truth. Pete Williams challenged Chris Hero for the #3 spot in the Pick 6 Rankings. Necro Butcher teamed with Rasche Brown to take on The Embassy in a grudge match. The American Wolves and the Dark City Flight Club met in a rematch from the March 1 episode of ROH on HDNet [taped 1/9/10]. And after nearly a four year absence, Chad Collyer returned to ROH as the Metal Master to face Sami Callihan. - 2016: ROH continued the "Conquest Tour 2016" in San Antonio, TX. After going from young boy to tag team partner to enemy, Adam Page's saga with BJ Whitmer came to a close when they faced off in a Street Fight. ROH World Champion Jay Lethal took part in a packed Proving Ground Six Man Mayhem match against ACH, Jay Briscoe, Kyle O'Reilly, Moose and Roderick Strong. The Motor City Machine Guns took on The Addiction in a straight tag match, while The Young Bucks took on Delirious and Cheeseburger in a comedy tag match, and The Pretty Boys Killers took on Andy Dalton and Ken Phoenix in a squash tag match. Mark Briscoe wrestled Silas Young, Bobby Fish faced Kenny King, and Rhett Titus squared off against Will Ferrara. - 2020: Ring of Honor was scheduled to hold "Battlestarr 2020" in New York, NY, but the show was cancelled due to the COVID pandemic. The show would have featured the quarter finals of a tournament for the newly revived ROH Pure Championship, as well as the Briscoes facing Rush and Dragon Lee of La Facción Ingobernable. - 2021: ROH aired their latest episode of television from Baltimore, MD. Homicide wrestled his first match in Ring of Honor in seven years when VLNCE UNLTD fought La Facción Ingobernable. And Eli Isom and Dak Draper wrestled to a time limit draw, leading to Dalton Castle choosing them to help spice up the show.

So that last post is the exact reason you should give wrestlers a lot of leeway in interviews: I likely wrote the ticket on sale notice for "Battlestarr 2020" in New York and I have *no recollection* of it ever existing.
Like I totally remember that we were going to run Terminal 5 but I had no recollection of when and what it was going to be called!
Granted, *a lot* has happened in two years, but still!

The Reborn 2004 show I believe has Colt Cabana come out to Ricky Steamboat's old music with a baby-bjorn on and a baby doll strapped into it, mocking Steamboat's "Family Man" schtick.
My words aren't doing it justice, but it's incredibly funny stuff. Like, genuinely out loud laughing. Really hope Tony Khan pays Alan Parsons Project licensing to get the music to immortalize that entrance because it's gone largely unseen for way too long.

Today in Ring of Honor History: April 24 - 2004: Ring of Honor held "Reborn: Stage Two" in Chicago Ridge, IL. Their debut show in the Frontier Fieldhouse, the show continued the 2004 reboot, and was headlined by hometown heroes CM Punk and Colt Cabana defeating the Briscoe Brothers to become the new ROH Tag Team Championship. Meanwhile Ace Steel looked to fare better against BJ Whitmer than Cabana did the night before. Proving that not even a burned face would stop him from being a fighting champion, Samoa Joe was back in action defending the ROH World Championship against Matt Stryker, who became the last holder the Number One Contender's Trophy as it was retired after the show. Bryan Danielson and Homicide wrestled their very first singles match against each other. Austin Aries made his main show debut, competing in a Four Corner Survival match against three other future stars: Jimmy Rave, Nigel McGuinness and Rocky Romero. After a loss in a Tag Team Scramble match against the Carnage Crew, The Ring Crew Express, and winners Jack Evans and Matt Sydal, the increasingly cocky Alex Shelley had enough of his tag team partner Jimmy Jacobs, starting their feud. John Walters faced Chad Collyer, Ricky Reyes took on Danny Daniels, and a pre-WWE Shawn Daivari made his ROH debut, teaming with Delirious against the Carnage Crew's Masada and Justin Credible. - 2009: ROH held "A Cut Above" in Dayton, OH. The show's name was in reference to the main event, which saw Roderick Strong put in an outstanding performance challenging Jerry Lynn for the ROH World Championship despite suffering a large, nasty cut above his eye. Tyler Black and Davey Richards met in a rematch from "Proving Ground 2009: Night One" [2/6/09]. Once again without their regular partners, Jay Briscoe and Kevin Steen teamed back up to face the Dark City Fight Club. Bryan Danielson faced Eddie Edwards, Colt Cabana wrestled Chris Hero, and Jimmy Jacobs took on Egotistico Fantastico. And Matt Cross made his final appearance, competing in a Four Corner Survival match against Claudio Castagnoli, Rasche Brown and Silas Young. - 2010: Ring of Honor was back in Chicago Ridge, IL for "Bitter Friends, Stiffer Enemies 2". The show was named after the main event, which was El Generico team with Colt Cabana to face his former friend Kevin Steen with his new buddy Steve Corino. Chris Hero, ranked #3 in the Pick 6, challenged Tyler Black for the ROH World Championship. Meanwhile, #1 ranked Roderick Strong and #4 ranked Davey Richards looked to prove who was more deserving of the next title shot when they faced off against each other. Austin Aries and Kenny King teamed up to take on The Briscoes, while Rhett Titus went solo against Petey Williams. Eddie Edwards wrestled the Metal Master, Rasche Brown took on Sami Callihan, The Embassy faced The House of Truth, and the Dark City Fight Club crushed the Bravado Brothers. - 2020: ROH was scheduled to hold "Quest for the Gold" in Philadelphia, PA, but the show was cancelled due to the COVID pandemic. The show would have featured the opening round matches of a tournament to crown the new ROH Women's World Championship. Scheduled to participate in the tournament: Alex Garcia, Angelina Love, Ashley Vox, Gia Scott, Heather Monroe, Jenny Rose, Katarina, Kellyanne, Lindsay Snow, Mandy Leon, Miranda Alize, Nicole Savoy, Session Moth Martina, Sumie Sakai, and Tasha Steelz. The tournament to crown the new champion was pushed back a year, beginning in the summer of 2021.

Today in Ring of Honor History: April 25 - 2009: Ring of Honor held "The Homecoming II" in Chicago Ridge, IL. His first Chicago show since returning to ROH, the main event saw Colt Cabana challenge Jerry Lynn for the ROH World Championship. Former rivals turned unlikely partners Jay Briscoe and Kevin Steen challenged The American Wolves for the ROH World Tag Team Championship in a Two out of Three Falls match. Despite being part of the same promotion for over a year and a half, Tyler Black and Chris Hero faced each other in what was their first singles match in ROH. Black, meanwhile, continued his feud with Jimmy Jacobs, who won a Three-Way match over Claudio Castagnoli and Roderick Strong. Bryan Danielson's issues with The Embassy came to a close as he faced Jimmy Rave one-on-one. Austin Aries and Rhett Titus took on Alex Payne and Silas Young, Dark City Fight Club squashed the Phoenix Twins, and Egotistico Fantastico scored an upset over Rasche Brown. - 2015: ROH's inaugural "Conquest Tour" came to a close in Hopkins, MN. Kye O'Reilly made history by challenging Jay Lethal for the ROH World Television Championship and Jay Briscoe for the ROH World Championship in back-to-back matches…technically. After Lethal refused to give O'Reilly more time after a time limit draw, Briscoe stepped in to show how a real champion does it, angering the party pooper TV title holder. Jay Briscoe also teamed with his brother Mark Briscoe to finally beat War Machine after their two previous encounters ended in no contests ["Summer Heat Tour: Cincinnati, OH" - 7/18/14 & Ring of Honor Wrestling: Ep. #154 - 8/9/14]. Truth Martini actually stepped into the ring to fight, facing one dirty Briscoe, ODB. ACH wrestled Adam Page in a rematch from the latest round of television tapings [Ep. #188 - 4/4/15]. Roderick Strong took on Silas Young, Michael Elgin faced Caprice Coleman, and Bobby Fish got in the ring with Arya Daivari. And longtime indy staple and Minnesota native Arik Cannon made his only main show appearance in Ring of Honor, wrestling Danny Duggan.

Today in Ring of Honor History: April 26 - 2003: Ring of Honor held "Retribution: Round Robin Challenge II" in West Mifflin, PA. The show was named after The Prophecy, who were looking to redeem their recent string of bad luck which began at the last show in West Mifflin, "Revenge on The Prophecy" [1/11/03]. Christopher Daniels became the only winner of a Round Robin Challenge, beat both The Amazing Red and Paul London. Daniels was a replacement for AJ Styles, as the tournament was build around the London/Styles/Red storyline, but Styles had to pull out of the show due to injury. With Dan Maff now a member of The Prophecy, Da Hit Squad had their last ride (and Monsta Mack's last ROH match) when they faced the Second City Saints. Donovan Morgan returned to ROH, wrestling a Five-Way match against BJ Whitmer, Chad Collyer, Matt Stryker and Michael Shane (who was originally booked to wrestle Daniels in a singles match). Samoa Joe made his first official defense of the ROH Championship, taking on Doug Williams. Homicide faced CM Punk, accompanied by his new valet Lucy (Shannon "Daffney" Spruill - RIP), for the Number One Contender's Trophy. The Carnage Crew fought the Texas Wrestling Academy in a No Disqualification match, and The Ring Crew Express, The SAT, Special K, and EZ Money and the debuting Sterling James Keenan (Corey Graves) wrestled a Tag Team Scramble match.

Today in Ring of Honor History: April 27 - 2002: Ring of Honor held "Night of Appreciation" in Philadelphia, PA. The show was named after Eddie Guerrero, who had recently returned to the World Wrestling Federation, where five days prior he became the new WWF Intercontinental Champion. Guerrero teamed with The Amazing Red to face The S.A.T., then squashed Brian XL as an added bonus. With one farewell, the show saw a number of debuts. AJ Styles took on Low Ki in their first ever singles match against each other. The Carnage Crew murdered Ring Crew Express in their respective debuts. Fellow West Coast wrestler Donovan Morgan took on Christopher Daniels in his first match. And former ECW wrestler Tony Mamaluke made his debut against Jay Briscoe. Spanky beat his fellow Shawn Michaels' Texas Wrestling Academy graduates Bryan Danielson, John Hope, Michael Shane and Paul London in a Gauntlet match to become "The New Heartbreak Kid". The rivalry between Xavier and Scoot Andrews continued with James Maritato thrown in the mix, Divine Storm faced Christopher York and Joey Matthews, and Da Hit Squad continued their tradition of destroying people by squashing both the Christopher Street Connection and Prince Nana and Simply Lucious in a glorified handicap match. - 2007: ROH held "The Battle of St. Paul", which as coincidence would have it, took place in St. Paul, MN. Austin Aries challenged Takeshi Morishima for the ROH World Championship, while Christopher Daniels challenged Roderick Strong for the FIP World Heavyweight Championship. The Briscoes defended the ROH World Tag Team Championship in an Ultimate Endurance match against Pelle Primeau and Mitch Franklin, and debuting CHIKARA wrestlers Mike Quackenbush and Jigsaw, and Hallowicked and Gran Akuma. Colt Cabana kicked off his final weekend by teaming with Homicide to face Adam Pearce and Brent Albright in an "Anything Goes" match. No Remorse Corps member Rocky Romero found himself very unpopular, facing Delirious, Erick Stevens and Jack Evans, all three enemies of the NRC, in a Four Corner Survival match. Following his loss to Jimmy Jacobs in a Steel Cage match at "Supercard of Honor II" [3/31/07], BJ Whitmer returned to action, kicking off his losing streak in earnest in a match against Shingo. And Jimmy Rave returned from injury ["Fifth Year Festival: Finale" - 3/4/07], squashing future ROH World Champion Michael Elgin in his debut match. - 2018: ROH held night one of "Bound by Honor" in West Palm Beach, FL. In what was (to date) their last match against each other, The Briscoes defended the ROH World Tag Team Championship against the Motor City Machine Guns in a rematch from the "16th Anniversary" [3/9/18]. Flip Gordon looked to earn a shot at the ROH World Championship by facing Dalton Castle in a Proving Ground match. The Young Bucks and Adam Page went toe-to-toe with The Kingdom in a Six-Man Tag Team match. Despite both being longtime staples of independent wrestling, Jay Lethal and Scorpio Sky wrestled each other in what was their the very first match together. Coast 2 Coast kicked off an impressive weekend by winning a Four-Way Tag Team match over The Addiction, The Dogs, and Silas Young and Beer City Bruiser. Cody faced Punishment Martinez, Marty Scurll took on Kenny King, and Josh Woods wrestled Shane Taylor. And Deonna Purrazzo won a grudge match over Kelly Klein. - 2019: Ring of Honor partnered with the National Wrestling Alliance to present "The Crockett Cup 2019" in Concord, NC. The first Crockett Cup in thirty-one years saw Villain Enterprises' PCO and Brody become the new NWA World Tag Team Champions after outlasting The Briscoes, The Rock 'n' Roll Express, The War Kings, CMLL's Guerrero Maya, Jr. and Stuka, Jr., New Japan's Satoshi Kojima and Yuji Nagata, ROH's Flip Gordon and Bandido, and the NWA "Wild Card" team of Tom Latimer (a.k.a. TNA's Bram) and Royce Isaacs. Marty Scurll challenged his longtime friend Nick Aldis for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship, Colt Cabana challenged Willie Mack for the NWA National Championship, and Allysin Kay and Santana Garrett wrestled for the vacant NWA World Women's Championship.

Today in Ring of Honor History: April 28 - 2006: Ring of Honor held "Weekend of Champions: Night One" in Dayton, OH. A sequel to "Night of Champions" [3/22/03], the shows were held to see if anyone could dethrone one of the ROH champions, as no titles had changed hand thus far in 2006. Bryan Danielson defended the ROH World Championship against Jimmy Yang, while Nigel McGuinness defended the ROH Pure Championship against Christopher Daniels. With his regular partner gone, Matt Sydal lived up to his "tag whore" reputation by teaming up with Samoa Joe to once again challenge his Generation Next teammates Austin Aries and Roderick Strong for the ROH Tag Team Championship. Meanwhile, Ace Steel joined the fight against CZW, and brought Colt Cabana along to team with Adam Pearce and BJ Whitmer in a Street Fight against Necro Butcher, Super Dragon, Nate Webb and ROH traitor Claudio Castagnoli. Cabana pulled double duty that night, beginning his climb back towards a shot at the ROH World Championship by facing someone he'd have a lot of history with when the year was done, Jimmy Jacobs. Delirious wrestled Jimmy Rave to a time limit draw, and Irish Airborne took on Jay Fury and Spud (Drake Maverick) - 2007: ROH held "Good Times, Great Memories" in Chicago Ridge, IL. The show was named after Colt Cabana, who was wrestling his last match for Ring of Honor before heading to WWE. However, the show ended up being the last appearances of several wrestlers. After wrestling Erick Stevens to a time limit draw, a frustrated Christopher Daniels quit ROH, ending his second run. At the same time, he broke up with his longtime valet Allison Danger, marking the end of her five-year long tenure. Shingo wrestled his last match before returning to Dragon Gate, challenging Takeshi Morishima for the ROH World Championship. Austin Aries continued his feud the No Remorse Corps by facing Rocky Romero in a singles match, while Homicide wrestled Brent Albright, BJ Whitmer and Jimmy Rave in a Four Corner Survival match. TNA's last two contracted wrestlers remaining in ROH, both were pulled from the promotion a little over a week later when Ring of Honor announced their move to pay-per-view (though Aries would soon return to ROH after quitting TNA). Fellow TNA wrestlers the Motor City Machine Guns returned for one night to challenge The Briscoes for the ROH World Tag Team Championship in an instant classic. Jack Evans continued his feud with Roderick Strong, Tank Toland squashed Alex Payne, and fans were treated to a CHIKARA heavy Six Man Mayhem match featuring Delirious, Gran Akuma, Hallowicked, Jigsaw and Mike Quackenbush, as well as ROH's resident underdog Pelle Primeau. - 2012: Ring of Honor and CHIKARA teamed up to present a double shot in Chicago Ridge, IL, with ROH holding "Unity" and CHIKARA holding "Hot Off the Griddle". On ROH's show, CHIKARA's Hallowicked and Jigsaw challenged The Briscoes for the ROH World Tag Team Championship, while The Colony faced Jay Lethal, Adam Cole and TJ Perkins in a Six-Man Tag Team match. Meanwhile, ROH World Champion Davey Richards and Kyle O'Reilly took on Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team. El Generico continued his revived feud with Kevin Steen by teaming up with BJ Whitmer to fight Steen and his ally (and Whitmer's old enemy) Jimmy Jacobs in a No Disqualification match. The All-Night Express faced The House of Truth, The Young Bucks took on the Bravado Brothers, and Mike Bennett wrestled Mike Sydal. On the CHIKARA show, Kevin Steen challenged Eddie Kingston for the CHIKARA Grand Championship, while El Generico faced Sara Del Rey in the main event. The Young Bucks took on Arik Cannon and Darin Corbin. And the Bravado Brothers team with Die Bruderschaft des Kreuzes to wrestle The Spectral Envoy and 3.0 in an Eight-Man Tag Team match. - 2017: ROH held "Unauthorized 2017" in Milwaukee, WI. The Unauthorized concept was a show not sanctioned by the ROH Board of Directors. The main event saw Jay Lethal and Silas Young square off in a grudge match. The Addiction continued their feud with the Bullet Club, facing The Young Bucks. Today in Ring of Honor History: April 29 - 2006: Ring of Honor held "Weekend of Champions: Night Two" in Cleveland, OH. The show saw the kickoff of one of the greatest rivalries, if not the greatest rivalry, in Ring of Honor history, as ROH World Champion Bryan Danielson and ROH Pure Champion Nigel McGuinness met in a Title vs. Title match, their very first singles match against each other. Surprisingly, however, their first ever encounter, with both titles on the line no less, was not the main event of the show. Instead, the main event saw the return of an old rivalry, as Generation Next defended the ROH Tag Team Championship against The Embassy. The ROH/CZW war saw Samoa Joe take on the traitor Claudio Castagnoli, while BJ Whitmer took out Super Dragon, ending his involvement in the feud. Christopher Daniels and Matt Sydal squared off in a rematch from "Dissension" [1/28/06]. Delirious faced Chris Sabin, Colt Cabana continued his climb back up the mountain by teaming with Conrad Kennedy III (ak.a. Krimson) against Irish Airborne, and Jimmy Jacobs won a Six Man Mayhem match. - 2012: ROH held "Rising Above 2012" in Dayton, OH. Adam Cole received his first shot at the ROH World Championship, facing Davey Richards. The match came about due to Cole pinning Richards in the main event of "10th Anniversary: Young Wolves Rising" [3/4/12]. Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team once again challenged The Briscoes for the ROH World Championship, continuing their feud. Following the loss of the ROH World Television Championship at "Showdown in the Sun: Day #2" [3/31/12], Jay Lethal faced the new champion Roderick Strong in a non-title Two out of Three Falls match. One night after their No Disqualification tag team match, BJ Whitmer took on Kevin Steen in singles match. El Generico wrestled Kyle O'Reilly in their only match against each other in ROH. Michael Elgin faced fellow big man Samson Walker, TJ Perkins wrestled Mike Mondo, and The All-Night Express took on Chris Silvo and Mohammad Ali Vaez. - 2017: ROH held the inaugural "Masters of the Craft" in Hopkins, MN. The Addiction continued their feud with the Bullet Club, teaming with Dalton Castle to take on The Young Bucks and Adam Page in a Six-Man Tag Team match. The Briscoes and Motor City Machine Guns once again found themselves facing each other. Bully Ray fought Silas Young in a No Disqualification match. Rivals-turned-friends-turned-rivals again Adam Cole and Matt Taven met in the ring once last time. War Machine took on The Rebellion, Jay White went up against Punishment Martinez, and Jay Lethal battled Beer City Bruiser. And Marty Scurll defended the ROH World Television Championship against Misterrrrrr Ken Anderson…Anderson, in his only Ring of Honor appearance.

Today in Ring of Honor History: April 30 - 2016: Ring of Honor concluded the "Conquest Tour 2016" in West Warwick, RI. As seems customary this time of the year, The Briscoes and the Motor City Machine Guns once again met in the ring, this time in a Three-Way Tag Team match with reDRagon. Jay Lethal decided to give a local underground wrestler a shot at the ROH World Championship, defending the title against a pre-Kingdom Vinny Marseglia. Donovan Dijak continued his feud with his former teammates The House of Truth, facing Joey Daddiego. After finishing up in CMLL, New Japan's Hiromu Takahashi, then known as Kamaitachi, made his ROH debut, taking on ACH. Silas Young had some complaints about the booking when he was made to wrestle Delirious. The Addiction were addicted to being dicks, angering Lio Rush, Moose and The Young Bucks. The Bucks, meanwhile, took on former rivals The All Night-Express. Dalton Castle faced Kongo, Sumie Sakai wrestled Taeler Hendrix, and Jenny Rose, Mandy Leon and Veda Scott met in Three-Way match. - 2021: ROH aired their latest episode of television from Baltimore, MD. The burgeoning rivalry between Violence Unlimited and The Foundation saw VLNCE UNLTD's Tony Deppen defeat Foundation member Tracy Williams to become the new ROH World Television Champion. Bandido tried to fix things with Flamita by settling their issues in a singles match. And The OGK faced their former friend Beer City Bruiser and Ken Dixon in a tag team match, leading to the reunion of The Bouncers.

I watched The Battle of St Paul this week on its 15th anniversary, and that Cabana/Homicide vs Pearce/Albright is really fantastic piece of business. Super fun match that's kind of overshadowed in history but worth going out of your way to see if you haven't.
And the main event, man, I just can't watch Aries matches anymore. I normally skip them but tried this one as it's a Morishima match I hadn't seen, and it just did nothing for me. At all. Probably the Morishima match I've enjoyed the least.
Masters of the Craft I was there in person for, and it was the last time ROH came to Minnesota. Can't believe it's already been five years. I remember the show live being much better than it looks on paper, and the main event being a super crowd pleaser. The single largest crowd ROH had ever drawn in Minnesota - and somehow they never came back.
