Over the years there have been a whack of movies based on TV shows. Some that are very different.
Some that come to mind are Pee Wee's Big adventure and Big top Pee Wee were nothing like Pee Wee's Playhouse.
I also kind of remember a Gilligan's island movie where they get off the island and live in the city.

There's a clerks TV show? yeah not sure if it got out of the pilot stage, but it starred Jim Bruer. Kevin Smith had nothing to do with it.

The various Batman movies since 1989 have been quite different from the old 1960s TV show. (Well, except for the two Schumacher films. Those were pretty spot on.)
On the flip side, the nearly-forgotten Legends of the Superheroes TV movies from 1979, which reunited Adam West and Burt Ward as Batman and Robin, make the old Batman show look like the Snyder Cut. (Check 'em out on Tubi if you're interested, but be warned. They're Star Wars Holiday Special levels of cornball.)

Snowpiercer the TV show kind of uses the bones of the original as a jumping off point for it's own story.

What We Do In The Shadows. Same premise, different casts. Same universe, though, which is cool.

The Ferris Bueller TV show literally opened with the TV Ferris cutting a standee of Matthew Broderick with a chainsaw

Bewitched was a cute sitcom about a witch trying to fit in to a 60’s suburban lifestyle.
Bewitched was an awful comedy movie about a tool of an actor who unknowingly hired a witch to be in a sitcom.

I still need to see the episode this is referenced in. First season episode with the Vampiric council. Aha. Do any of the characters actually make an appearance? Or is it just a fleeting reference?

There's a conspiracy behind the murder of Richard Kimble's wife in "The Fugitive" film that does not exist in the TV series.

First season episode with the Vampiric council. Aha. Do any of the characters actually make an appearance? Or is it just a fleeting reference? the main cast of the movie are members the Vampiric Council, they then pop up in every season for 1 or 2 episodes. Viago during the first appearances addresses the film crew and kind of notes its the same film crew following these vampires now. and speaking of Vampires, the movie version of Dark Shadows was way more gory and changed up the Barnabas story a bit, and then the Tim Burton film was also really different from the Dark Shadows tv show.
