Is Lio working STRONG or actually going to Japan? He’s scheduled to work the Seattle show (New Beginning, I think) and also the Battle of Los Angeles. I haven’t heard anything about him working Japan. To my knowledge Japan hasn't been opened up to foreigners yet. But I could be wrong, so if you hear NJPW, I'd probably assume NJPW USA

Japan was open briefly, but I think they closed down last month again because of Omicron.

Yeah the attendance last night and crowd reactions wasn't as big as it normally was because I think to man shows in the same market. The show itself setup a lot of stuff. The format is a little questionable. To many heel out to legit hurt someone angles. Wasn't the best show, but wasn't the worst. Some good action. It was very close to 5K last night which is in line with what they've been doing generally (a few shows like Newark are higher and a few like Jacksonville are lower). It just was in a larger building than they usually run so it looked more like a RAW crowd because of it. But it's a healthy number, especially given the shows they've had in the market.

A lot of great storylines being advanced but everything felt samey to me and I'm just not a fan of the run ins no matter what logic you try to bring to me. I just can't stand the matches being interrupted like that constantly We only had like... one actual match run in on this show. A lot of the run ins or interruptions were all after a match ended with different people or during promo segments. They're completely different things. The only match that had a run in actually factor into it was Dante/Hobbs when Lethal stopped Starks interference, and that was to stop a heel from being a shithead.

I knew you'd be responding haha yeah I dont agree with what you said. I really just dislike the samey feel the segments got plus I didnt like the Brody King debut segment it felt a little clunky and sloppy. But to each their own

AEW likes doing them yes, but the fact there was only one actual match run in and it was a face this week I thought was pretty refreshing myself.

Personal highlights were Punk/Wardlow and Deeb/Shida for me. Overall I went with an 8.

Way too much talking. Felt dangerously close to a WWE show. It wasn't awful, but I'm going to need less promos and more in-ring time. Three successive matches of dominant heel offense, a whole lot of promos many of them back-to-back too, random tag match, a main event for a meaningless title that finishes with the focus on two people not in the match. Yep very raw like Sadly a few acts, fueds and tropes are getting stale but it seems like ajustments are about to me made. A few others just need to get some momentum back after injury, covid, randomly disappearing etc. I know some moan about the chaotic multi-man matches but really could have done with them injecting some energy. Botches/slopiness aren't as bad in those either. That said it was essentially logical and most segments were fine taken in isolation. 5/10

I guess a 6.5. Nothing great match wise but some good story development.
