If I'm Kevin Feige, I'm absolutely snatching up anybody f***ed over by the new regime. Raid that motherf***er's fridge. again the directors directed Ms. Marvel. Two episodes. I'm talking about giving these guys a movie. Their Ms Marvel episodes were well-received, Bad Boys For Life was surprisingly decent, so give them a shot at vindication.

My statement was more general, because Batgirl is clearly just an opening salvo. If anything, I should amend it to not just Feige and Marvel Studios; Warner is about to start leaving a lot of money on the table in the name of "brand restoration".

And John Oliver just took a shot at Discovery canceling Batgirl, and "joked" he thinks Discovery is burning down HBO for the insurance money.

Literally strike him down and he will become more powerful than you can possibly imagine. Really the only major media company who wouldn't have any interest in Oliver would be Fox, for very obvious reasons.

Either he keeps his show and all the freedoms that he's enjoyed thus far, or he goes somewhere else with a huge payrise and all the freedoms he's enjoyed thus far.

I’m really, really *not* the biggest John Oliver fan, but he’s massively popular and I doubt his show’s in any danger.

Like, let’s not drift too far from the topic because obviously there’s a HBO Max thread and an actual merger thread for this stuff but I’d say Oliver’s show is cheap enough to stick around.

Shit like this is just spiteful, and for no good reason at that. I know jobs are tough to come by, but I'd do everything in my power to avoid WB if I were in the tv/movie industry

as I said in the HBO Max thread... it sounds like they f***ing deleted the footage... that's like unthinkable in this day an age due to how much lost media is out there like classic who and the like... and media preservation has been baked into like all products....
I think any creative types hear this and they are either just flat out not going to work for WB or make their own copies legality be damned.
also supposedly they want to try and lure her back for more movies? I don't see that f***ing happening if this is what you do to her movie...

It sounds like it, but I suspect it's probably more likely all the footage was moved to a secure server the moment word of the cancellation came down to prevent another Snyder situation where copies of the footage end up taken off the studio lot.

The last month of news out of WBD has felt like that on steroids and crack. It is absolutely buckwild how quickly two different corporate overlords have managed to squander a century of goodwill for arguably the biggest name in Hollywood.

I get the feeling it’ll see the light of day, eventually. At the least, scenes from it.

Yeah, this kind of stuff has me actively rooting for this new Warner/Discovery CEO to completely fail. Like not even the type of failure where there's a "complicated legacy" or room for discussion. I want this guy to just outright tank.

Zaslav and company are off the rails. Boy’s getting a nasty documentary about him in the next five or six years, calling it now.

Zaslav is making the last years of Eisner's reign at Disney looking good by comparison.

I was going to say this might have been in response to Snyder's stealing the hard drive. Hopefully it's not actually deleted. But still.
