SRS basically says they're holding onto Ali because of his perceived value. So they know he's worth more to the competition yet they still won't use him properly. Go figure. I mean, that was their MO with a lot of people for years. And then those same people got released in the first round of cuts so… Right. We shouldn't be surprised if he's gone right around earnings.

Kind of wonder why they let Toni Storm leave when she asked for her release, yet they won’t let Ali go when he asks for a release. If the guy is unhappy, just let go if he doesn’t want to be there. And even if he has years, all they are gonna do is waste him even more. Because they aren’t gonna actually push him, so there really is no point. SRS basically says they're holding onto Ali because of his perceived value. So they know he's worth more to the competition yet they still won't use him properly. Go figure. I think Ali has a lot of value but I also look at some of the talent they've released like Joe and Keith Lee and Braun and think that applies to a bunch of other guys so it's an odd stance to take. Unclear what their brightline is if they have one.

Guess he should open a twitch, cameo, own merch store etc to get released... Won't work. Dakota Kai has been doing Twitch streams lately and GiGi Dolin is also still doing Cameos from her Priscilla Kelly account. Seems like they're more lenient on the NXT people. NXT vs main roster though like you mention.

I wish they would let him go as he is a hell of a talent, but how many talents have been granted their release by asking for it publicly first?

If I had to guess? I figure him tweeting about it set off WWE's big angry control issues like with Brodie and they're gonna make him stick around until they feel like they're the ones making the decision to let him go. Whether that's in a few months or a couple years is unfortunately super up in the air.

If they wanna be petty, be petty back, talk about unions, there are easy ways to push back hard.

Supposedly he asked privately for awhile and got no response, he felt going public was a last resort.

An absolute joke and a pathetic decision after the last 2 years.
There's no justification.
And if anyone is defending this, take a long hard look at yourself.

And then he plays in to the their hands for painting him as awkward and difficult to work with and all the rest. It's a very thin line between letting people know you are frustrated and actually making yourself look like too much baggage for any other company.

Going off what I've seen on his posts, etc. He'd have a lot of people backing him too.

Let's be real here do any other companies in the world think Vince is a standup guy? Like would Tony Khan not hire him because of this?

What wrestling company on earth would look at someone aggressively trying to leave Vince McMahon as a negative?

I don't find Ali special at all, and I really don't think he was a Vince misfire, but that's besides the point here. You fired several people who may have well wanted to stay. But to keep a guy who wants out? That's bad. And I say that as a guy who admittedly think's WWE gets a lot of hate for the sake of it.

Also, like, everyone at this point knows if they say that, it’s bullshit. Even if we were to believe that Charlotte, Keith Lee, Bray Wyatt etc are difficult to work with, these stories have “leaked” so much, you can’t believe any of them.

I wish they would let him go as he is a hell of a talent, but how many talents have been granted their release by asking for it publicly first? Shawn Spears got it this way and same with Dustin Rhodes, but that was before they were really taking the AEW threat seriously.

FTR were the last really outspoken people to be let go from what I remember.
