Luke’s version of Fast Car charting higher than Tracy’s ever did makes me want to bang my head against a wall. As Todd said... different times and it was harder back then

he's been doing less to actually obscure it... hell at least once his face has been posted on social media. >_> He appears fully face out in Lindsay Ellis’s latest video on Nebula I think it’s nice that they’re still friends

That first Aqua album gave my brother's high school best friend the courage to come out. He was a totally different different person after he bought that CD. It allowed him to be himself.

I'm surprised that “If I Could Turn Back Time” was not a hit in the United States. Todd mentions it was not released as a single in America... Which also surprise me since it was a tie in to the movie Sliding Doors (which the music video featured clips of) which was promoted heavily at the time. I think that movie also ended with the Dido song “Thank You” that Enimen later sampled for Stan.

Surprised Todd did an actual review of it, though from the second I heard of it I assumed it'd be his #1 worst for the year.

I legit had no idea any of those country sounds were hits. I’d only even heard of the Aldean song. I avoid pop music and stick to rock and alt rock.
So this is what is a hit instead of Extreme’s newer songs, some of which are really good?

At first I thought Anthony Oliver was another douchebag riding the country MAGA gravy train and I wasn't interested.
Then I heard him ask the GOP to quit using his song while explicitly stating that it wasn't endorsing them, it was ABOUT them and other people of all stripes looking out for number one while ignoring the less fortunate.
Then I heard he performed with Shinedown at Blue Ridge Rock Festival, and that Tommy Vext is going to be on a remix of the song.
Now I'm not sure what to think.

To me he comes off as someone who's wildly ideologically inconsistent and not self-aware enough to take a step back and recognize it.

Here's the thing: completely divorced from whatever politics you or I think he has (which I won't discuss here anyway), it's still a bad song simply because the man can't sing. He's completely out of his depth. If he tried and failed that miserably to hit that high note on America's Got Talent, he'd get every X simultaneously, if he even made it to that first high note.
Like, I know all music has it's ups and downs (can't remember the last time I had an optimistic conversation about hip-hop), but if this is what the future of country looks like, with two back to back hits pushed up the chart by astroturfing and spite purchases, maybe we need to give bro country a second bite of the apple. All is forgiven, Florida Georgia Line, at least you aren't literally painful to listen to.

It's deeply unpleasant hearing this man scream over barely there music.

I actually quite like the song until it gets to the second verse
But I also love country. It is really nothing to write home about as a country song even without punching down at people on welfare. Which is what the song is doing regardless of his personal views are

New Trainwreckords on Patreon for Nickelback: No Fixed Address I am still expecting him to tackle "Man of the Woods" sometime for Justin Timberlake, but I wonder if the holdup is him waiting for Justin to even attempt a follow up instead of just falling off the face of the earth by his relative standards. Still, even if it's been 5 years since it released, it was also 5 years between that and the 20/20 Experience, so it's not unheard of for him.
