She is absolutely a budget cut waiting to happen… which is unfortunate because I think she’s really trying. It really is sad how Vince has buried her career. I really hope she ends up in AEW, although I kinda hope she doesn't get saddled with Ruby again as I think Ruby has been very underwhelming in her time in AEW so far. She can potentially be a face of any company and like you made a good point she's trying and getting better. Only around 26 and nowhere near her prime. This is a hot take, but Liv had a pretty big push earlier in the year, but the problem is she just...completely whiffed every chance they gave her. Her matches were all pretty sloppy, and her promo skills are completely and utterly abysmal.

If you want to put into perspective the damage WWE has done to its female roster, half the entrants in tonight's Rumble weren't active competitors on Raw or SD (and of course none from NXT). That's how gutted things have gotten. I mean I get your point, but at least the crowd knew all of the entrants for a change. I mean, I'll give them credit for at least keeping it fun (making the Women's Rumble closer to the enjoyable nature of the 2012 Rumble than the 1995 Rumble the men's edition felt like). But still, it's an indictment on WWE's roster decisions and how much they trust their current crop of talent.

Speaking of weird booking shit, why did they have zero interaction between the Mysterios? Why even have Dominik in the match if you're not going to do anything with it? They had numerous opportunities for spots like that...the Mysterios, Naomi and Cameron etc etc and none of them ever were in the ring together, it's like whoever booked this is a total moron with no callback to anything that happened more than 5 minutes ago.

First full WWE show I've watched in about 18 months.
I thought the Womens Rumble was awful.
And then the Mens one was ten times worse and the Womens one doesn't look so bad now.
The lack of star power on this roster across both shows is absolutely f***ing frightening. They only really care for about 7 or 8 people and if you aren't one of them you're going to be booked like shit.
The Mens Rumble was 1995 levels of bad in terms of the roster.

Also man I didn’t know who was coming out half the time. WWE themes really aren’t iconic anymore.

Pretty sure most of the non-active women that went out fast are retired. Ivory’s 60 years old. They were there for a pop, not to work 20 minutes. Speaking of which, is Ivory the oldest Rumble participant? Lita and McCool were in for awhile.....Lita I understand but why is Michelle McCool treated like she is one of the best of all time? Melina is still wrestling no idea why they gave her no time. Michelle is Mrs. Calloway. Other than that, who knows??

Also, all the music changes didn't help. I watch pretty frequently and I have no idea who's coming out by music now at all. All the music sucks and no one stands out..on a big show like that guys not having music you can tell who it is, is very bad.

That doesn't really translate to anything when she isn't particularly good at like any single aspect of the job. You can skate on a lot of charisma so long as you're decent in the ring or decent on the mic but being crap at both you're pretty out of luck.

It has been a long running thing for Rumbles, at least the last few years anyway, where they very rarely have the people who are feuding or teaming actually interact with each other. Hell, at the first women’s Rumble, they had both Trish and Lita in that match but just…never be in the ring at the same time? That just seems really weird, right?

Something that's interesting to me is that the fans really WANT to cheer face Brock but WWE keeps tying their own shoelaces together and tripping on themselves by having him squash over faces. There seemed to be a very "eh, sure?" attitude in the crowd when he won instead of a "OH F*** YEAH"

I think it bears repeating that they brought back Ronda, who did not move the needle in a positive direction, and when she left the company the first time, she just pretty much crapped on the rest of the women in that locker room. And she comes back and immediately gets a main event slot at Wrestlemania.
...Yeah if I were a woman in WWE right now I would start looking elsewhere to wrestle.

It is status quo

Brock deus exxing his way into the match and then winning was just so deflating. I don’t want to hate the WWE. I grew up loving the WWE. I’ve been watching for my entire life.
But this era of all roads leading back to wrestle the same match 4-6 times a year absentee champion Brock is just the absolute, dogshit worst. And we’re going on 8 years of it. There’s just no end in sight to this beyond stale era of WWE, and I think that’s why this Rumble may be my least favorite premium live event ever. Just solidifies that 2022 is going to be another round of the same old Brock-centric shit.

Liv's not Cesaro good enough in the ring to make up for her promos, but I also don't think she's crap. She should at least be in a tag team right now.

Also, Ronda was looking like she was just given the call to appear at the Rumble earlier today. Like she didn't train or anything in preparation for it. Her strikes had like no impact to them at all.

I saw jokes about it online, but Shane's own punches looked better than the stuff Ronda was throwing out. I hope its ring rust as well, but if it isn't, then her current run in WWE is going to get INCREDIBLY ugly, especially when fans start turning on her. Hard.

I thought the women’s Rumble was great. The men’s overall was fun but they stuck all of the midcarders/tag teams with little heat in the middle which made it drag. Also could have used one or two old-time legends to pop the crowd during that time period.
Some of the choices of who was in the Men’s Rumble were odd as well. So many tag teams when Cesaro, Balor, Edge and Miz are on the roster.
