This is exactly how he should be booked. Credible, upper midcard who can hang with almost anyone but his brief Impact reign was probably the end of him winning world titles or headlining PPVs.
I've enjoyed his AEW run way more than Matt Hardy's. On paper what he's trying to do doesn't seem like a bad idea but in practice it hasn't worked. The feud with Sammy was a disaster and after a year of being associated with him Private Party are less over now than they were during that brief 2019 push they got. And he just straight up can't go in the ring anymore while Christian is still capable of great matches.

But yes, WWE would be using him better and absolutely wouldn't be jobbing him or using him as heat fodder for a heel feuding with Edge. It is incredible comedy that someone looked at Edge destroy his hall of fame credentials in the wwf while Christian has stabilized his critical acclaim and go "the wwf totally wouldn't bottle christian like they have done [literally everything else]"

"If he was still in WWE a reunion with Edge would be obvious money, but then an actual long term feud with Christian, at this point in their careers with the history and legacy of the two - that’s Wrestlemania worthy."
Welp, someone in WWE thought that wasnt money last year..............

He’s done more than enough good. Had great matches, especially with Kenny Omega, one of which he beat him for a title. He’s being used a veteran should be. He will probably feud with Jungle Boy someday, have more great matches with him and put him over, as he should. Heck, Edge should be putting over young talent as well, but WWE loves their nostalgia way too much.

His mic work and ring work have been the best of his career.

He’s been put in the background a little too much for someone that seems to have a lot more left in the tank than a guy like Matt Hardy or even Jericho really. He should’ve remained in the thick of things like he was during the brief Omega feud.

Teasing him as this ultra big signing I still think did a little more harm than good as opposed to if he just came out to a surprise pop
But I am fine with way they are using him. If he was still in WWE it be the same thing outside of most likely a tag title run with Edge and a WM feud. I think what he is doing now is good and he will probably get more mileage once the heel turn comes

Christian had a great match against Matt Hardy at Fyter Fest 2021.
It was good to see them prove a lot of naysayers wrong.

Vince McMahon has never and will never see CHristian as a star of any note nor a veteran who has a strong place and presence on his show. For all they've given Edge on this run, that's Edge. Edge is the second most decorated WWE wrestler of all time behind R-Truth (whose count is dubious) and has eleven world title runs under his belt. Them treating Edge like he's a star is the most 'no shit' thing imaginable. Christian? Christian doesn't have that value. He's the rat-faced guy Vince wanted to put a blue dot over. He wouldn't be taking a promising act under his wing and helping him behind the scenes, he wouldn't be lending his star to them, and he sure as shit wouldn't get wins over someone on Kenny Omega's level. I think the only way AEW Christian seems like a waste is if you literally forgot how WWE Christian gets booked.

I'm really not seeing kayfabe accomplishments as THE argument wether someone is booked to their full potential or not. It should be a much more abstract judgment than that: We know Christian is able to be entertaining in every aspect of wrestling - now, was he booked accordingly? Did they squeeze out every bit of entertainment value Christian has to offer so far? I have no answer to that. He still wrestles great, talks great, looks mature, not old. I was looking forward to him turning on Jungle Boy, as I remember them teasing.

That he may be booked worse in WWE, and he could be booked better in AEW.

I'm just talking about the idea of a big money E&C run and a Wrestlemania worthy match; that got a laugh out of me. Though I personally think he's been booked fine and seems fulfilled on this run in the role he's in.

In a span of 8 months, he competed on a WWE, TNA, and AEW pay-per-view... and not just any ppv event, these are the main ones of the companies in marquee spots. This is when we didn't expect him to ever return to in-ring action.
He's not going to be a mainstay in the main event. He wants to give the rub to Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus. He's a big name and he embraces his role.
I wouldn't say he's been a waste.

The Omega feud is bigger than anything he would’ve done anywhere else. I think he’s been used just fine.

I don't think he's been wasted but I'm absolutely dying for him to turn heel. Christian's one of my fav evil dudes of all time I can't take any more of him being a good person.

Everything up to and including the Omega PPV match was great.
He's cooled off since then but it's obvious there'll be a program with Jungle Boy eventually and that should be great.
