I'm sure the talent is used to the hierarchy. They know Brock and Ronda are the stars. But the frustrating thing has to be working on this long and complicated match which is part of your craft and having upper management constantly meddling. I can do my job at work no problem. Tell me what to do and I'll gladly do it. But it gets annoying when I start getting micromanaged. The people there know they're capable of more and it sucks when you're not able to reach that level for reasons outside of your control. Yeah people seem to be ignoring the article being about the match being rewritten and just projecting that the morale was low because “part-timers” won.

Vince McMahon's whole method reminds me a lot of 'Bioware magic' and how the studio mythologized the idea that everything could be a dumpster fire but come together last minute (by working obscene amounts of destructive overtime) and be great. Mostly because over time, that method hit diminishing returns and everything was so rotten about the core process behind all of it solely buoyed by the faith that it always works out and their method is solid. But both companies have proven that it was never about the magic of that method and become too drunk on their own accolades to realize that coherent work needs to be put in, and the things they did that succeeded succeeded in spite of that approach, not through it. Vince thinks changing things a million times for his super better idea makes it better only because he gets to live in a bubble of producing his content, and never gets the perspective that shows him the flaws of how he makes everything, leaving him trapped in a cycle that wears down everyone around him emotionally, and now it's reaching one of those points where it's taking a real toll on the product and the people behind it.
Working for Vince McMahon is just headgames and demons.

I think people place way too much emphasis on wrestlers being happy or unhappy because of their place on the card, who they wrestle with, if they're being booked to win. Sure it matters to an extent, but that's all normal. The reason morale is down, and has been down, is how poorly everything is communicated, how poorly the stories are told and written out. The last minute changes, the getting stuck in catering for 7 months because they just dont want to write for you. They understand that a Brock or Rousey will be in the main event, that's all pride stuff. Morale goes down when no one knows whats going on, you dont know whats going on with you week to week, or even hour to hour. It's hard to work under those conditions, and constantly being worried they'll just forget about you. That happens in every company, but it's so magnified in WWE. Disorganization is what they said brought WCW down, and now they're absolutely in the same boat.

The more Vince is involved the worse it is. With his mom dying I don’t think he was in the right frame of mind to book it right. He books like shit on a good day. He should have stayed home if he wasn't up to the task.

Obviously not all of them, no, but many of them enjoyed how clear their roles were, etc, even if the schedule was tough. They at least knew what was expected of them, had programs that built over months, and didn't have a man who changed his mind every nanosecond and threw the script out because he the elves that live in his brain told him to.

Is it possible morale is down because The Mighty Mighty Bosstones broke-up? It'll reform when we see the formation of the Mighty Molly Bosstones Knock on wood

No reason anyone should be down for those reasons. This is not a new occurrence (or a secret from the public) and yet they all still chose to join or resign with the company.

No reason anyone should be down for those reasons. This is not a new occurrence (or a secret from the public) and yet they all still chose to join or resign with the company. A lot of people down on the Rumble probably didn't re-sign with the company recently, they've probably been there for awhile, doesn't mean it was JUST WWE wrestlers either who were down on it, plenty of staff have constantly said they don't like how shit's going but it runs through Vince. "Why are they upset? This isn't new.", with the amount of fans in the arena for the show, you want to put on a good show. This is one of the nights of the year where a ton of lapsed and casuals of WWE come back and see what the product looks like now, and most if not all of them probably went back to alternative wrestling or none at all after that wet fart (Some on FAN who are these fans confirmed as such), so yeah... there's a right to be upset and have low morale about the show not going well, and just being emotionally numb or broken doesn't have to be the default option for folks who work there... It's also very likely a lot of wrestlers on the fence about re-signing were hoping that this show specifically would renew their interest in doing so... or reaffirm their stance about not doing so, so there's that.

It'll reform when we see the formation of the Mighty Molly Bosstones Knock on wood I've never had to. But I know someone who has, which makes me wonder if I should.

Working through the grief is a viable option to take, and fits Vince much more in my opinion. "the Show must go on" mentality at play.

I'm looking forward to the amount of speculation (probably verging on conspiracy theory) that this is going cause.

6 of the participants in the 2021 Men's Rumble are no longer with the company.
I wonder how many will be gone by this time next year.

This guy rebooked it a million times and we still ended up with one of the most unmemorable men's Rumble matches of all time. What a dickhead.

They at least knew what was expected of them, had programs that built over months, and didn't have a man who changed his mind every nanosecond and threw the script out because he the elves that live in his brain told him to. The Hogan era is a great example of that also because a lot of those guys, sort of like the talent are now, did the work to get to the bigger stage. They did the stuff to help rise the places they were in and make the scene better for the people coming in after them (or in the territory era, they helped build their starpower to the point that yeah, of course Vince was going to sign them. Why wouldn’t he?). And back then, if they wanted Hacksaw Jim Duggan to be the guy that helps push Macho King Randy Savage to a future title match, he was going to be that guy and get people to hope in the story they were telling that Jim would stop him. If Hacksaw was in this era, he’d be pulling teeth just for him to get on the show at times even though people do, in fact, love him. Or he’d be waiting in catering for maybe a glance with Vince’s second in command’s representative with the producers to maybe get an idea beyond the ground level. And the fact it’s not even one story but dozens and dozens of these stories pretty much just says the system is broken and has been broken for over a decade now.

I wouldn't look into it too much. He was there with his kids as well to watch the show.

I've worked in an office where the method of working changed every other day. That was horrible. I can't imagine how frustrating and annoying it must have been for the wrestlers to keep having the Rumble plans changed on them. Nothing makes you loose faith in those in charge quicker than them constantly pulling the rug out from underneath you.
