Wrestling tropes have become tropes for a reason. If you book spots like that every show, it gets annoying. If you wait 3 years before you even attempt it, it feels fresh and is actually fun. Context is everything.

I'm not sure killing the crowd when you have another thirty minutes live and an hour of Rampage to tape is something AEW wants to do lol |

I'm not really entirely sure of the Cubs-Yankees connection. Wouldn't Cardinals-themed gear be more appropriate? Very well-done false finish. They got me with that one. Nah man Chicago and New York sports is a genuine rivalry, some sports more than others but it's a rivalry even in pizzas  |

Context is everything. Restraint is the key, and AEW does have the tropes it overuses, but it plays in so many matches being relatively straightforward affairs with conventional finishes, so when it goes for something different it feels so much fresher. |
