She missed by a wiiiiiiiiild margin. Yeah, it was the point. Long match, struggling to try and win, Nyla in a weird position for her finisher. She went for it all and couldn't get it, unfortunate but it happens And this is also ignoring that Ruby won the match if it wasnt for Vickie to get to the point she had to dig that deep to try it

That Brandi Rhodes segment was awful. She’s just a Stephanie McMahon ripoff.

Happy you enjoyed it

And I thought it made her look like a total idiot to whiff THAT BAD on her finisher.
But again, I’m not trying to convince you that I’m right - I’m saying what I think of it

Color me confused about the disappointment about the Wardlow turn not happening tonight. I think it was the right move for MJF to win, and I think a lot of people would agree. And if he was going to win . . . Wardlow was not going to turn on him on the same night. MJF just beat CM Punk in his first loss in the company. You don’t then end the show with Wardlow standing over MJF after that. Punk/MJF is a feud that can have more than one match in it. And if it’s going to have more than one match, Punk isn’t winning the first one. And logically, you’re only going to see Wardlow turn on MJF in a match where MJF loses. People are acting like AEW just booked a WCW 2000 finish but it makes perfect sense to me all around. For me, the (inevitable) Wardlow turn on MJF needs to be at a point where MJF can be at his "pinnacle of success," a point where he's within grasp of his greatest accomplishment with the company, when he thinks he's a 'sure thing' because he's outsmarted everyone and covered all his bases including with his backup...only for it to not be there. They really can only blow the lid off this particular turn once with Wardlow, so it has to count. Putting it on a no-stakes match (aside from pride) compared to on PPV just doesn't ring as true as it could. I still believe we will see that turn sometime this year, but I'd be surprised if we see it before Double or Nothing.

Just got back home. Fun time, though that hell of a main event between Punk and MJF left me and, I’d wager, much of the rest of the live crowd really burned out just before the Rampage tapings (the latter for which I won’t spoil anything here). One thing I will say: I’ve seen CM Punk wrestle live in Chicago twice. Both times, he’s lost. (The last time was in WWE when he was World Heavyweight Champion in 2008. At the RAW I went to, he got pinned clean as a sheet by Chris Jericho in a non-title match).

Don’t get me wrong, some good matches, but like I said, I personally was too burned out by the events of Dynamite to get invested.

So since almost everyone hated Lambert/Brandi, how did it come across in the arena?

During Tony’s speech at the end to close out the show, we got a quick appearance by Hook, who fans had been chanting for in the main event of Rampage (Starks vs Lethal).

Copying what I said in the Codyverse thread-
Wrestling fans cheering a "I don't like this woman so I'll call her a whore lol" in 2022 made me sad. I was enjoying Dan's promo up until that point.
