Wardlow isn't going to turn until MJF is free and clear to have the angle with him. MJF isn't done with Punk yet, so it's just going to be teased. I hope they pull the trigger on that after the Punk stuff is done, although I do love Wardlow and Spears as a double act.

The issue with the Wardlow thing for some is that it feels like the story has not progressed enough to justify how long it’s been?
Like they were teasing dissension back during the MJF vs. Cody feud, and it doesn’t feel like the story has progressed that much since then.
I feel like it’s been stretch out long enough, he needs to turn SOON!!

Didn't watch but given some of the responses here yeah, glad I didn't. I'll peep it this weekend probably. Just glad to know that my expectations have been lowered. I never like that "hey guys this is hype hype amazing omg" stuff anyway so this is good for me. Dont go by opinions here for how you judge something tbh. Like I loved the match and the finish, but I dont think people being weird about it should lower your bar or your experience, hope you like it anyway

Wardlow ain't turning until MJF wins the belts...I'm convinced. If they're going to keep dragging it out just go full boar!

Honestly, MJF winning with the ring AGAIN is kind of lame after such a fresh, interesting match. I see where you'd think that, but MJF's whole shtick is pissing off the audience. What better way than to win the same old shit, after Punk got about twenty hope spots? Sure, that's fair, it just felt like a special match like this deserved a better ending than "MJF punches opponent with ring behind the ref's back and gets the win" for like the sixth or seventh time in the past twelve months. Honestly, I kinda wished they'd reversed the spots and done the much more clever choke-out spot as the real finish.

MJF constantly digging him, Spears stuff, the Punk match where MJF openly cost him a huge win, it's all clearly slowly been growing and simmering for Wardlow as a whole.

Too little too f***ing late! .it’s really not though If it doesn’t happen at Revolution, then it’s gone past when it should. But the turn happening at the PPV is the perfect place.

The ring is MJF's final out, and it's gonna backfire and when it does, I think it will be a big moment, for Wardlow and MJF alike. I like that MJF needed everything to beat Punk, and it almost wasnt enough

It's also a huge mix of what people like, some people really dig old school 80s style where angles are drawn out and turns are hinted at for a long period of time before they happen..other people dig stuff like attitude where dude has an issue and turns within a show or 2.

I don’t see it, not enough for it to be dragged out for YEARS now. It feels like a story being dragged out for the sake of dragging it out, not because it NEEDS to be.

At the end of the day though it's still a TV match, as good as it was and they want people to buy their ppvs.

The other thing about the Wardlow stuff, besides being provoked all the time, was that last week, he wasn’t exactly happy about powerbombing Punk after the beat down, nor was he exactly sprinting down to face Punk and hurling the ring at him this week. Commentary even mentioned the contract.
Like, I get people thinking it’s gone too long (I disagree but anyway) but it’s not even subtext. It’s the actual bonafied text of the story.

I’m not going to sit here and tell people their opinions are wrong, but sometimes it feels like we’re all watching different shows. Wardlow’s slow burn face turn is still very much happening. He didn’t seem especially thrilled at having to help MJF cheat to win that match. It’s mystifying to me that some people watched that and were like “yeah, Wardlow’s back to just being a heel lackey.” I don’t see any reason to rush the build, because when the payoff finally happens it’s going to be star making. I'm sick of waiting. This slow burn shit just pisses me off. All I can say is this is why CrashTV was a thing in the Russo Era, and I was no fan of that. Difference of opinion, I guess.

I mean... when AEW constantly delivers really good to great matches, it's easy to overhype it *shrug* but this was a classic in my eyes, one of the best TV matches they ever did, dont think the hype is out of whack for this one but you'll see for yourself
