If he’s been training since August but is a little shy about having an actual match, I wonder if he will be down for a segment that is in essence a 5-10 minute street fight where it’s not an actual match but he essentially works a match in street clothes? Rather than the typical kick wham stunner, beer bash. I believe there's a slim chance we get Austin to do more than just a stunner, like he did with Alex Riley on RAW that time. It certainly won't be a match but maybe you might even see a Lou thesz press. Hope he wears black boots and not dad trainers lol I don’t know, you wouldn’t have a ring sent to you 8 months before the show just to do a stunner, unless he was just extremely unhappy about how he looked/felt in the ring.

Could they do Rollins and Owens vs. Stone Cold and a partner? Not going to lie, totally read the last bit as "stone cold and a panther" and was a bit confused but not surprised if vince thought it would be a good idea You can't tell me people wouldn't buy/attend Mania just for Rollins v a panther

I have negative love for Austin the in-ring talent, the less of him the better. Interesting, what didn’t you like about his in-ring? He was a tremendous worker pre-neck injury and then became a top-notch brawler and storyteller after. It was all the character. I despised the character so much it bled into me not liking anything about him, including whenever he wrestled.

I'd missed this rumour at the time, looking at it now I'd figure punches and a Stunner would pretty much be the spot.
Can't see him doing any kind of match outside of a thirty second deal. Wondering if the discussion was picked up and the source got carried away in rushing to suggest match rather than appearance/altercation.

That move's associated with Veer now.

I love how fiercely protective Austin is of his wrestling legacy. He doesn't want to do a Flair, a HBK etc and spoil the ending.

Did I catch that right last night that the announcers were talking as if we haven't seen Stone Cold in a WWE ring in over 19 years? Or did I misinterpret their colossal bullshit.

I guess they meant actually competing in a match. Yeah, that's the impression I've seen and...this isn't a match? Because he was in a ring during the pandemic and a few years before that at WrestleMania with Micheals and Foley. Like, it could still be a match (odds seem less likely, though) but at least say it was his first time in Texas for a while or something.

It feels like they decided against doing the match but have not changed anything else in the script to reflect that.

More carny bullshit.

Wasn’t it announced as being the KO Show? That’s not that vague.

If it's a talk show segment, why even mention that?

I assume they’ll want you to forget the other in-ring Mania segments he’s had at Mania since then, like the Piper’s Pit at 21 and the three on three beat down of the League several years ago.

Austin has appeared at 7 WrestleMania's since he retired. If WWE truly expects anyone to forget every single one of those appearances then they have even less respect for their fans' intelligence than I thought.

Either that or Corey Graves saying the 19 years line went rogue.
