Has anyone learned from the tragic return of Shawn Michaels in 2018? After that embarrassing match, Shawn is seen saying "We're too old for this". Or from Undertaker? Who, less than a year later, had an even more embarrassing match with Goldberg. Stay retired, Steve. No amount of money or spotlight is worth embarrassing yourself like that. What if it’s a f*** load of money?

Ya Owens could have an entertaining match but he's just not a big enough star for a Steve Austin return. It's not his fault but he hasn't been pushed at that level. He might not be but considering, as I said before, Austin would sort of have to win...there isn't anyone who'd make sense to do it with. You ain't having him beat Brock, Roman or even an Orton and you sure as f*** aren't putting him in there with Goldberg.

For having a match that he goes over in and will be entertaining, Owens is a very good choice. Rollins is another choice that would be right up there. Reigns is a bigger star but I don’t think he’s the type of wrestler to get the best out of an aging star. Ya Owens could have an entertaining match but he's just not a big enough star for a Steve Austin return. It's not his fault but he hasn't been pushed at that level. He’s not on Austin’s level clearly, but he’s in that tier below top star as a consistent main eventer/upper mid carder. Sort of like Jericho. Works well for a legends return. I can see it being a segment instead of a match though for that reason.

He’s the sort of heel that can get his heat back easily by ragging on the Cowboys the night after WrestleMania. It’d be an easy target but still.

If they do want to do an actual match, you should have someone in there who can help get a decent one out of Austin, or at least have a chance to. And who really would not lose much if they lose to Austin (because no way Austin would lose here, even if he would want to).
Owens fits both of those bills.

Not really a fan of Austin coming back for a match at mania as I got the impression he’d made his peace with being retired and seemed in a really place in life. I suppose Kevin owens would be a safe bet to not drop Austin on his head and potentially have a really unpleasant moment and thankfully KO is a safe worker and probably why he’s picked.
I mean Goldberg vs reigns could go wrong if Goldberg tries anything too technical.

I think he was but maybe he's changed his mind and gotten the itch again. When he's been asked about it in the past couple of years he's seemed way more open to it and didn't completely rule it out like he usually did 10-15 years ago when he would flat out say no, I'm done. Maybe seeing the likes of Daniel Bryan/Edge/Sting come back from serious injuries and seemingly permanent retirements and managing to perform well made him think that he could safely do another match or two. There was an episode of his reality show a year or so ago too which showed a full sized wrestling ring in a gym/warehouse at his ranch. That seems strange for someone who has been retired for near 20 years and isn't a trainer/instructor. Maybe he's been training for this comeback longer than we realize. I know when Edge told Vince he was thinking of making a comeback he had a ring sent down to him to work out in.

Well during the tough enough reboot with booker t and Trish and the other person who’s name escapes me he gets in the ring with one of the contestants and while not a long match, he looked really really good. He took flat back bumps and all that.

Is this still gonna happen? It seems like Seth and ko are gunning for the tag titles

Is this still gonna happen? It seems like Seth and ko are gunning for the tag titles They have a tag title match in 11 days so there’s still a month of build left after that if they lose. It’s definitely not confirmed that Austin is having a match, though.

A month of build up for the return of Stone Cold Steve Austin just sounds crazy.
This should have built up for months and months surely? The return of maybe the most popular WWE wrestler of all time.
I'm still leaning towards it just being some talkshow segment that ends with Austin hitting the stunner on Owens.

So, I guess Austin said hell nah cause we getting kinda late to promote a match with dude But if it fell through, I think that would have leaked too. There’s still plenty of time to hype it, if we are here in mid-March with no announcement, then yeah, it’s not happening.

I get the feeling it will just be a promo segment with Austin and Owens.

If it’s Steve appearing as a guest on the KO Show with Kevin antagonizing him, I will be ok with that except if it makes Kevin look bad that he got beat up by a 57 year old.
Kinda reminds me of WN21 where Piper interviewed Austin on Pipers Pit. That was kind of a dream match so to speak.

Owens keeps throwing digs at Texas on Twitter so maybe it’s still on.
Or KO is working us into a shoot. Nothing would surprise me.
