name didn't ring a bell to me... but the puppets in the thumbnail definitely are familiar.

Definitely more of a show Canadian audiences remember more, even if it got a long run on Disney Channel and some other countries. Also, references to Friendly Giant and Edison Twins. Never has a video felt so catered to me.

Never has a video felt so catered to me. And Telefrancais. And that annoying f***ing pineapple. But, I absolutely loved Under the Umbrella Tree as a kid. It was definitely one of my favourites

Gloria = Muffy Mouse with a spray tan.
And has Defunctland done The Raccoons? Speaking of TDC and Canadians.

Gloria Gopher is one of those characters I am sure if I googled them, I'd find a bunch of shrines. Like this is just the sort of character some people develop obsessions with.

I've been waiting for him to get to this show. I distinctly remember watching this on the Disney Channel as a kid. It's one of those show that not many people seem to remember, so I'm thrilled to see it get some love here.

This literally was one of my favorite shows as a little kid. My grandma used to tape bunch of episodes off of Disney Channel on VHS. And I watched them constantly. That show is pure childhood.

Well this takes me back: there were a couple years in grade school where I'd watch Adventures in Wonderland and Under the Umbrella Tree on Disney Channel before I had to get ready for the day...or might've been I'd watch one while I was in bed, the other while we were getting ready to go, whichever.
Defunctland's interest in puppet media strikes the nostalgia bells again.

Having seen a few episodes since this, I want to say:
1. It's pretty good. Like, as far as this kind of show goes, I came away thinking it was better than a lot of them, so I am not shocked it resonated with people.
2. Seeing a blue jay interacting a lot with what looks a lot like if Rigby from Regular Show got hormone replacement therapy is a touch jarring.

I don't have as much nostalgia for the show as others (probably glimpsed it one time or another on early UK Disney Channel) but the fact they did a 2020 special about mask wearing and hand washing genuinely touched me. Just because it's just nice for nostalgia like that to be used for good.

Just because it's just nice for nostalgia like that to be used for good. It's also nice to see the original puppeteers are still all friends with one another and still have a passion for their creation. It's always nice to hear about happy stuff like this, like hearing how Ron and Natalie Daise are still out and about and still happily together after the end of Gullah Gullah Island. You get so many of these defunct stories where everything went to hell, but it's always great to hear when things are still going great.

That was the other thing, it wasn't like "Oh, Noreen lost all the rights in a dispute with CBC and it all went terribly wrong". She still does stuff and that's just...nice. There aren't enough stories of those.
