I know the guy is red hot right now, but I think he’s more in need of a TNT title run. It would be great, not only would it elevate the TNT title as THE midcard belt, but it will give MJF more credibility holding a midcard belt before the world title. I feel like giving him the world title would be like giving Cena the belt in 2004 or Stone Cold the belt in 1997. Like yeah they were over as f*** at the time but it meant so much more when they won the titles when they did because the chase was fun too. Plus, the guy is only like 25

Because no one has patience.
According to this board, almost everyone deserves to be champ, and every old wrestler that wasn't champ deserved a run.

*whispers* I'm not. In fact, he's my least favourite wrestler in the company. And this is a company that has Billy Gunn in it. *stops whispering*

I don't think it needs to happen soon, but he's the best choice to take the belt off Hangman by far.

Me personally? Because he's the most Must Watch part of the show to me almost every week and as a whitemeat babyface hater since I was a child I wanna see him ruin Adam Page's life.

They can give it to a heel Punk (who needs the title and the title needs him to get more established) berating Hangman, he has a much shorter window of time than MJF as well as Moxley who can go heel and Become the first two time champ. Max can wait till 2023

Also they need a world title run to go shorter than the usual 200+ days average, and I say that with Hangman being my #1 guy.

Sometimes you have to strike while the iron is hot, he's been producing the best work of his career lately and gets people invested. He has a higher level of protection than most and you don't want a situation like Seth Rollins first win where he's basically already done a heel title run just without the belt.
Lastly people want a champion that became a star in aew, achieving that will give him something to boast about forever.

Punk would be a great option. Him being the heel straight edge legend talking down on Hangman, giving him doubt and then taking the title from Him. He can then go face for All Out and maybe even then have MJF take the title from him. The can also have the Mox/Bryan stable attack Hangman and have Mox as the leader taking the title from him as well

Because the industry has a long history, especially recent history, of not taking advantage of a talent when they're red hot. Page's title reign hasn't exactly been setting the company on fire and MJF is the hottest thing the companies seen since it started. Give the fans what they want now, not six months to a year down the line when they're already moving on to something else.

MJF is the biggest and best heel in the company. AEW has done an awesome job of getting him to this point while keeping him away from the title (apart from the Mox match) but eventually, they're going to run out of road and will have to go the title route. I imagine the Wardlow angle will keep MJF busy for the next couple of months though.

MJF will be great in a JBL style title run. Looks good, gets the crap beat out of him, cheats, onto the next. To get that to work I think you need like a year long reign. As someone else has said, we can’t having long runs so we need a few shorter world title runs before MJF’s epic saga.
By short runs I mean 2-3 months, not Vince Russo every week switching.

No idea. He's 100% over in his current spot and is about to elevate Wardlow in a major way. He was protected in the loss to Punk and doesn't need a belt at all.

I'm good with MJF looking towards to TNT title. After what happened at the PPV, he should take the title off of either Punk or Wardlow. The latter being well down the line, obviously.

It's all about the kind of story they're trying to tell. No but you need to establish the title's first defense isn't a forgone conclusion. I mean there was the doubt with Brian Danielson vs Page but not that much.

I think he probably does need a title soon to keep his momentum going but it could be the TNT title first, even a brief run.

I want him to take the title off of Hangman and I've said as much. But I never said it had to happen immediately. I think Hangman needs more time as Champion and some solid feuds under his belt, first. If he loses it too soon, all he'll really have is the great build up to the win and some quality bloodbaths with Danielson and Archer, but not much else. I'd personally have Hangman hold it until All Out, then put MJF over, provided they've finished the feud with Wardlow by then. And for the record, Wardlow is who I'd have take it from MJF, so if MJF wins the feud initially, it would be fine.
