Thanks to this collection I've been reminded of just how hair pullingly hard SNES Tournament Fighters can be. I kicked ass at that game as Raph. He has a combo you can spam that is unstoppable. I used it when I played in the Blockbuster series that had DKC, Tournament Fighters and NBA Jam. Never got touched once. NBA Jam on the other hand can kiss my ass. Not a single 3-pointer dropped making my Tournament Fighters run a moot point. (As far as the combo…spam Power Drill and throw your opponent over and over and if you get bored nail them with a projectile…rinse, wash, repeat.)

I'm disappointed that we don't get online play for Turtles 3 on the NES and Turtles in Time on the SNES. I contend to this date that the SNES version of Turtles in Time is miles better than the Turtles in Time Arcade game.

The little touches of adding the box art and manuals in were lovely. I think they really took a beat to reflect on how beloved the Turtles were/are and put in the extra effort.

Konami really should work with Digital Eclipse again for any future collections. Getting the Warner Bros Collection (Looney Tunes,Tiny Toons, Animaniacs) and a set with all the Rocket Knight titles would be great to see.

May have to grab this eventually. I remember how broken Kairi was in Tournament Fighters.
I was recently watching a video about how the jumping in TMNT 1 for the NES was coded, pretty fascinating. Any word if this was addressed in the remastering?

Funnily enough, I watched the same vid myself yesterday. The answer to your question is no. For the most part the game mechanics are unchanged across the board.

I remember the DKC tournament thing at the very least. That thing was so frustrating. I practiced so hard at maximizing three pointers for that tournament and when it was go time not a single one fell. Didn’t need much either…I blew through 6-7 fighters in Tournament Fighters with no damage. Right up there with a Sonic 3 tournament I was in for silly shenanigans.

Any word if this was addressed in the remastering? Kinda but not really? The base game is the original version warts and all but in the Enhancement section you can remove flicker and slowdown which can improve some of the mechanics, including certain jumps.

I really liked the M2 collections (Castlevania, Contra), though. I feel like M2's reputation has taken a slight hit working in this era of variable input lag (especially with the PC Engine Mini and Genesis Mini), and also because none of M2's "ShotTriggers" ports come out in the West anymore.

Kind of hope that this leads to a rereleased of the simpsons arcade game.

Kind of hope that this leads to a rereleased of the simpsons arcade game. I'd love to see this lead to some of the more obscure arcade licensed games from Konami, namely Bucky O'Hare and Cowboys of Moo Mesa ![](https://samhainsgrim.files.wordpress.com/2017/06/buckyohare-11.png) ![](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/lIqPFc9zDqs/maxresdefault.jpg)

Kind of hope that this leads to a rereleased of the simpsons arcade game. While most of the games were utter dogshit, I'd be happy with a similar collection of 8-bit and 16-bit Simpsons games, too. The Arcade Game would be the draw, everything else just little bonuses.
