I love from the get-go, they have treated Styles with respect as he's always gotten a high profile match at Wrestlemania. I can see him feuding with Breakker, Steveson or Theory at next year's show to give them a big match themselves.

I think that's a tough title to take from Michaels, but dude has absolutely done his best to earn it.
I think on balance there's less awesome matches here than Michaels had though.

Eh some of those were good matches but I wouldn't go that far. There are generally a lot better matches than not on modern WrestleManias. And some of those disappointed me a little, especially the Nakamura match.

No, not even close imo. The Shane match was fun and Taker was a nice novelty, but other than not, nothing too special.

I don't know if AJ is the heir to HBK's Mr. Wrestlemania title (because yeah that Nak match was so bad) but WWE should think about trying to find SOME equivalents to the WM spots that guys like Michaels had. It doesn't have to be a 1:1 "You're Undertaker Jr. now you can't be beaten at Wrestlemania and have magic powers" but surely they can find some way to build up new similarly exciting things that fill the voids there right now.

That Nakamura match was ASS f***, I remember being in the crowd for that and everyone wanted to love it and then it just sucked I feel like this has been most Nakamura matches since his match with Sami Zayn, and I even say this as a Nakamura fan. I will say that's not all his fault though... he had long ass feuds with Bobby Roode and Jinder Mahal... that helps literally no one.

It's hard to think of anyone who would've taken HBK's title lately. Unfortunately, only guys like Roman have had a strong streak of consistent and prominent singles matches over the past decade and he has a very mixed bag himself. A lot of other guys who came to mind have had years where they barely did anything of note (or they left at some point).

... Except none of the matches were good. Maybe not all-time greats but outside of the tag match I’d say those were very good. Meltzer rated them as follows: vs. Jericho - 3.75 vs. Shane - 4.00 vs. Nakamura - 3.75 vs. Orton - 3.25 And then the Boneyard match was a classic.

The matches with Shane and Undertaker (if you want to call it a match) were the only ones I'd say were great.

Seeing these pictures also makes me wish AJ went back with the New Japan shorter hair look. Change it up.

Which is no insult to Seth, that's almost impossible to replicate. That list to me is a lot of good matches but none that are incredible.

I mean, HBK got tagged with Mr. WrestleMania well before he had more good matches than bad at Mania.

With a 4/7 average? That's assume that the Edge match is fire.
If anything this says that no matter how great AJ is, he can be thwarted by booking constraints.

Nakamura’s entire run has been such a letdown simply because of that opening banger. He hasn’t done a thing close to that Zayn match, and it’s the reason I was so sour on him his entire NXT / Smackdown babyface run. Hell, I was rooting for peak awful babyface Roman to eliminate him that one Royal Rumble. The heel turn (his heel music is better, fight me) made me like him again, but he’s back to simply existing

Nakamura’s entire run has been such a letdown simply because of that opening banger. It's not because of that. He lost to Jinder Mahal twice and has been booked as a choke artist. That alone would have made his run a letdown.
