When you realise a 53 year old slapped a 57 year old just doing his job at the behest of a 50 year old.
What the actual f***?

So if I understand this, according to Netflix; Make a bunch of transphobic comments and make up a story about a trans woman who committed suicide, be able to produce specials. Slap someone on stage at the Oscars, potentially stop production on a movie. Good to know. Not an overreaction at all.

They didn’t cancel the movie because of the Oscars incident EDIT: If anything be mad at the director for quitting last week

Stand by the first half, though. Actually, I misread things. It kinda lands in the middle. The director quit just before the Oscar’s incident, not in response to it like I thought I read, and Netflix has decided they’re in no rush to replace the director and produce this film

I mean, it sounds more complicated than that but I’ll take it as my stances reclarified!

The Academy are apparently debating whether or not to revoke Will Smith's Oscar. Bear in mind Roman Polanski and Harvey Weinstein still have their Oscars.

The bottom line is this; if Smith's Oscar gets revoked and they don't right away go on a streak of revoking Oscars from those who have done much, much worse to people, it's hypocritical and will be seen as racist. There's no two ways about it.

Which is why they won't bother revoking his Oscar, I think it's a non-story. And would be an overreaction and open up a box of worms they don't want to bother with.
I think the debate basically goes "Should we...?" "No, Jim."

Jesus, I was actually joking when I said they'd be braindead enough to consider that.
