I know they were heels. I remember them being good heels. I remember really liking them as heels. Yet, the only memories I have of them as heels are Kofi's reaction to them winning the Tag Titles at SummerSlam 2015, and the terrible version of Twin Magic.
Help!

It's weird, because so much of the face New Day schtick ever since is because of the year or so in 2015-2016 where they were heels. It's why Xavier Woods still has a trombone.

I thought it was when they were at their best. An entertaining heel act who live audiences really didn't like. Proof that you can be good and don't have to be boring to get genuine heat. Once they turned back face I stopped caring about them and have pretty much continued to feel that way the last six years.

I remember the save the tables campaign that they ran. It led to "save the Gable" chants in NXT, they should come back.

I remember them making Seth Rollins their "Captain" and they had fun interactions together.

I remember they did a funky dance that Wade Barrett joined in on. That turned into one of my favorite MS Paint recreations.

Does anyone besides me remember pre-new day SRS Xavier Woods in a suit randomly coming to the ring to scout talent Yup, and I remember the first inkling of the trio having a much more militant vibe, Xavier in the suit and some kind of chant about taking what they deserved. Then they disappeared to house shows for like two months while trying to get Vince to put them on TV.

Does anyone besides me remember pre-new day SRS Xavier Woods in a suit randomly coming to the ring to scout talent Here's the whole arc in three videos... ...Kingston and Big E are in a rut, I mean, they lost to RybAxel for f***s sake. So was Woods. Dude randomly shows up in a suit (I don't think he magically appears like the editing here) and tells them "WE GOTTA GET OUR SHIT TOGETHER". Next night, on Main Event when they still kinda cared about it... ...Kingston and Big E give Slater Gator the business. OK, maybe this might be a good idea. Next RAW... ...They scout WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos (the more things change, hm?) while they're in a six man tag. Looks like something could be building. And then they disappear off TV for five months while they re-tool the gimmick into the weird original motivational preacher version of The New Day.

Remember when for no reason Raw ended with New Day randomly getting pissed and beating down Cena and the Dudleys and it felt like it was a dramatic shift to making them more SRS?

I think part of why it's not remembered by some is that a lot of their heel stuff wasn't really *that* different from their act as faces, they just had less merch to push.
I do remember them cheating more, I guess, or stuff like a pack of cards getting thrown at someone while Xavier (I think?) declared that they "have his card!" Just them being obnoxious to someone who was getting a beat down.

There was one RAW when they were on the fast rise as Heels where they completely dominated the show, and everyone on it, and ended it standing tall with Xavier playing the Trombone... and everyone f***ing LOVED it lmfao.
It is the literal anti-thesis of heel faction domination heat, they were just so over at that time, even as heels, even the crowd was into them kicking everybody's ass, it was amazing.

Their heel run was them going so overboard on their Babyface preacher act that crowds started booing them. They knew it would work, while Vince thought the Babyface preacher gimmick was money. They were over the top babyfaces to the point it made them heels. This militant New Day was around for a week or two if I remember correctly.

New Day was proof of concept that a heel John Cena would have had a lot of legs, and probably made him more overall popular in the long run.

They got to interrupt that Rock promo in Miami where Rock was either really excited or really coked up. A great segment.

"WHY ARE YOU BOOING?! WE'RE WINNING! " I think Xavier was probably the MVP of heel New Day even though it seemed like he was wrestling very little during that period and seemed to be almost kind of a manager for the other two. It seemed like he was usually the one making me laugh the most (although Big E. definitely had his moments too like "Randy only not does Seth Rollins have your number but he has it on speed dial") Another gem of Xavier I remember is him grabbing a headlock or a reverse chinlock on Roman Reigns and shouting "I'M GOING TO BEAT ROMAN REIGNS!". He sound so confident too when saying it.

Member when New Day was a stereotypical Church Choir Member? I remember Dave Scherer regularly calling them "Blue Day" since they kept wearing those blue outfits for quite a long time in the beginning.
