I can however say that I believe Dave Meltzer's ratings are inflated for some matches that had no heat or really anything other than "wrestle man wrestles good" and the prime example of that for me is Dustin vs. Punk unfortunately as I love both I just knew Dustin had no chance whatsoever so I tuned out. I could see that for Jungle Boy/Kyle but the crowd was pretty damn loud for the Punk/Dustin match to the point where they bit on a Dustin nearfall. To each their own but I think most people felt like it was a pretty damn good match. Four stars seemed pretty reasonable.

After decades of swerves and spite booking, consistently getting the 'right' result fron a major american promotion is a breath of fresh air.

There’s a balance that can be reached.
Upsets happen in real sports. There hasn’t been an undefeated NFL team since 1972 and there have been plenty of dominant ones — heck, even the perceived best team doesn’t make the Super Bowl quite often. Mike Tyson lost to Buster Douglas in his prime. I could go on and on.
But in kayfabe, the AEW (or WWE) roster consists of a good portion of the best wrestlers in the world and thus an upper midcarder should sometimes upset a main enter. And when two midcarders are competing against each other, it should be closer to 50/50.
I don’t want an AEW where the ‘underdog’ wins every time, but I also shouldn’t be able to accurately predict pretty much every TV and PPV match almost every time (with the exception of some multi-team tag mayhem). In fact, long-term storytelling that AEW prides itself on shouldn’t always go for the logical payoff — a guy who works his way through a story arc to make it to the championship … sometimes should fall short the first time and have to dust himself off and get back on his (cowboy shit) horse and climb his way back again — that’s also a long-term story.
I think pretty much every time the major titles have changed hands, we’ve all known the outcome before the first bell. And that shouldn’t be, because the champion shouldn’t be counted out before every built-up challenge where we’re expecting the payoff … because the payoff can be even bigger if we have to wait a little longer and the story is well told.
(A WWE example — I know some people who are adamant that ‘Daniel Bryan’ should have won the title before WM30 and I understand where they’re coming from … but I think the payoff was much bigger with him having to go through all the obstacles he went through to make his biggest moment on the biggest stage — however we got there as far as what WWE had earlier planned.)

I don’t even know what my stance on AEW’s predictability is tbh lol.
I’m able to predict more accurately what’ll happen than WWE, but, I’d say it’s a good thing.
I’m not too big of a fan of the drawn-out angles for the conquering face. Yea, it’s warranted and delivers in the end but, eh, I like my unpredictability in wrestling. With Hangman, I didn’t mind. With Rosa, shit could have happened earlier than it did.
I think every show, every match, every PPV in wrestling should ideally be completely unpredictable. That’s what keeps me hooked. The “anything can happen” factor. AEW has this in some aspects but doesn’t in others. Same with WWE. WWE definitely has a WTF-factor that keeps me invested even if it teeters on schadenfreude/a train wreck mentality.

It is just hard for me to get invested if I know 110% that there is no way the other party will win and it's supposed to be framed as a competitive match and not just a squash match. I also am not a fan of random face vs. face for no reason matches but that is just personal preference.

I don't think anyone thought Jungle Boy was losing.. Hell I thought Kyle beating JB was a forgone conclusion because it made more sense for Kyle winning the match. That or this is the "I'm right once a month" prediction. Lol

I didn’t think they’d have him job twice to JB in the same week, not when they’re trying to build him up.

I feel like AEW is due for a surprise title win from someone.
However, I would rather have predictable and fun to watch than baffling swerves for the sake of it.

Jungle Boy would have been great in the tournament, but I figured he would be busy with being the Tag champ,
