So why can't talent just offer WWE a buyout? They offer like $500,000 to get out of their contract? As least the company gets money back and then releasing them. I think the British Bulldog was the only wrestler to ever do that. He paid the company $150,000 in December 1997 to let him out of a contract that had years left on it so he could go to WCW.

Why are Goldberg and Lesnar even on there? They didn't walk out, Goldberg's contract ran out and Lesnar asked for his release then they both did their last match as agreed on. Sure, they phoned it in but that's besides the point.

Apparently, SRS has just recently reported that the match was marked in red with no producer himself (there are a number of people quote tweeting this saying that SRS corroborates this statement with a report)? I don’t have Fightful Select and I haven’t seen any of the content today, but if this is true, WWE is just looking worse and worse with that statement. SRS re-confirmed with several talent and officials that they left after the show started.

I don't have any sympathy for WWE after all these years but I get why they would want to disincentivize this behavior in the future. But surely there are ways to do that in private. When you take this road, you're just burying talent that in all likelihood is going to end up back on your TV. When you buried Austin, he was never going to come back at the same level. It just doesn't make sense to me. It's one thing to hurt their pocketbook or whatever but there's no need to try to win this PR battle. And when you try, you usually look worse anyway so it's not even worth the effort.

I've just ever got the whole holding hostage thing WWE loves to do. Them putting these two on blast makes it even dumber since they likely aren't going to release either of them meaning they are still going to be part of their show. If they don't want to be there and you are so pissed off then just release them. WWE is always going to be around and they are making money hand over fist no matter how crap their product is. There have been plenty of wrestlers who were bigger stars then both Naomi and Sasha who they've part ways with over the years and yet the machine kept rolling on. It's not like are they really going to be in danger of going under if either or both go to AEW.

Like it's less about benefitting the company, or anyone in particular, rather than punishing the two for now kowtowing the line. It's just very telling how gung-ho they are to cut 20 guys at a time for "budget cuts," yet other talent who actually want out, are kept around doing nothing, while they add months to their contracts. It's completely f***ed, and there's no way it's simply a business decision when you consider their budget based strategy to retain earnings each quarter.

Not saying he’s seen it, but if Vince saw what Sasha has been up to recently. That’d likely get on her nerves even more.

There’s a good documentary on character actors called ‘The Guy in that Thing’ or something like that. They’re all people you recognize because you’ve seen them so many times but pretty much likely don’t know their names. Their lives are somewhat feast or famine. Get a few roles, make some good money — then maybe go months without a role. For the East Coasters (in this time period), all the Law & Order shows were huge, for the West Coasters it was the Star Trek series … with either if you did a good job they’d probably bring you back for various spots on the other shows or even the same one after a time. You kind of got on their Rolodex and you’d get calls pretty regularly. But the big thing was to get a recurring role on a series (these aren’t series lead types; more like play a neighbor in a sitcom who pops up most episodes or a co-worker on a cop or hospital drama). Then you knew you were getting a steady paycheck for a season (or several). One guy bought his first car when he finally got a recurring role. It’s an interesting movie if you haven’t seen it. I can attest to that from my own experience too. I was paid $3000 for about six hours of work; I've also been paid in granola bars. Extra work actually pays quite well, but only if you're in the union or win the union lottery (basically they're required to hire a certain percentage of union extras, but if not enough are available they pay some of the non-union extras the rate instead, which iirc boosted it from $9/hour to $23/hour).

I still can't get over the way the WWE seem to have spun their unhappiness at being screamed at by a producer as considering their colleagues unsafe to work with in an attempt to divide and conquer. CM Punk is a quitter and Bret screwed Bret all over again.

CM Punk is a quitter and Bret screwed Bret all over again. Have we had the screamed at by a producer confirmed anywhere? I know I saw it from that one twitter account, but the same account also (apparently) falsely said that they left the building at 5, not 8.

Like, I get it. All the time that and promotion WWE put into Sasha and they don't want her taking it and using it to make AEW money.
But by talking shit on air, they're just making her a martyr which will make her an ever BIGGER DEAL when she inevitably shows up there.
WWE wants to be vindictive, but they're not even any good at it.
