Dave on WOR about the match last night:
He said that WWE is incredibly high on Raquel right now. I guess they think she has mainstream crossover star potential. He also mentioned that Triple H wanted to book a surprise ending last night just for the sake of it. And that they knew that people wanted to see Sky/Kai vs Sasha/Naomi, and that its the money match. But WWE isn't super interested in it apparently. They are more focused on getting Raquel over, and Aliyah is along for the ride.

I barely watch wwe anymore but I've been checking out bits and pieces since Hunter took over and I do like a decent amount of what I see but this result left me kind of perplexed since IYO and Dakota are the new faction.
I do get them wanting to push Raquel though. She has something but this character is not it. Bring back NXT ass kicker Raquel. Loved her work with Rhea.

Isn't it usually the faces that get screwed out of winning titles and then get the rematch, much to the delight of the crowd? Why are the heels the ones justifiably angry at being the ones screwed over? Isn't this all backwards...

Because now you have heels who are rightfully pissed off. And in the case of Raquel and Aliyah, now they have a giant asterisk next to their name in the record books, and their reign is already illegitimate/tainted.

Although the match last night really wasn't great, and yes, Aliyah is green as grass and yes, Triple H is high on Raquel but honestly, Damage CTRL doesn't need the belts. They already are involved in a high profile match in England, had a fantastic return at Summerslam and have already proved they are top notch talent over how many years. Raquel needs the build more, and Aliyah needs more seasoning, hell, any seasoning. I'm fine with the decision.

I think saying she's green as grass is still being super nice to her. She's just absolutely terrible at this point, and if she hasn't improved in almost 7-8 years, she's never going to. Also Damage CTRL kinda need the belts if their whole goal is to...you know, actually control the division. Also after tonight, I'm incredibly wary about them even winning at Clash. Because it would be peak WWE to have Bayley, Iyo, and Dakota lose to Bianca, Alexa, and Asuka. Like...we are at the point where Damage CTRL's credibility is already almost in the toilet. And unless BIANCA eats a clean pin from Iyo or Dakota at the event, their momentum is going to continue to suffer greatly. WWE has literally no choice but to acknowledge the botched call next week on RAW. And at this point, Damage CTRL are the sympathetic faces who are getting screwed over by those in power in the eyes of watchers at home.

I understand Kai/Sky should have the belts, but I guess I look at it from the standpoint that they are getting a lot of TV time and really don't need to be elevated with the belts, but I see your point. Bianca definitely does need to take the pin on Saturday, but honestly, I can see Bayley getting the win, which no, she doesn't need.

Champion should not be eating a pin in a 6 man match If they want to set up a woman as a threat to Bianca or establish them, its kinda necessary at this point. She has faced zero actual adversity since being called up basically. She almost never loses. And it's getting insane. There's no benefit to feuding with her because at the end of the day, she's going to beat you, and never look in any danger at any point. Meanwhile Damage CTRL are just there to apparently look bad. Which it's hard to argue against the fact that WWE needs to salvage the group because right now they are approaching the point of no return. And the best way to salvage the group would be to have one of the newer members get a clean pin on Bianca, the "golden child" of the current company. If Damage CTRL are meant to be disruptors, then that would be the best message to send. But at this point I wouldn't be shocked if they have Damage CTRL lose at Clash because their credibility is basically shot to pieces already through a ton of questionable booking decisions. Red flags were already being raised when they struggled to put away Dana Brooke and Tamina.

Champion should not be eating a pin in a 6 man match It's probably because I've watched a lot of New Japan and it's fine to me. It's an easy way to create an immediate title challenger.

It’s a waste to have her take an L in a 6 man match. It you want the wins against her to mean something hold that until she stops the title

Folks are reading too much into how they've been booked in the last two weeks. They're clearly an important stable to the company or they wouldn't have debuted them as they did at SummerSlam. We're in month two of the story. Bianca shouldn't lose to Damage Control right now. Not unless it's for the world title. Let them beat Asuka or Alexa. It's fine. A win is a win.

I can live without any team coming along, winning indefinitely until it's felt a worthy challenger comes along. It's obvious and boring.
Not that this was neccesarily the best way to go, but wrestling has to find a middle ground where you can be accepted as a legit threat, but aren't required to never lose. Hysterical fans online don't help that either.

The tag titles have been treated like crap for a long time going from one random makeshift team to the next. So, I can see the pessimism, as this feels like more of the same crap that bogged down the titles in the first place. And while DAmage Ctrl May not need the tag titles since they get so much TV time, the tag titles absolutely needs to be on them, as I doubt the tag titles are going to be elevated with Raquel/Aliyah.

And let’s not act like Alexa and Asuka are bums either. Outside of Bianca the area the most decorated champions behind the 4HW. Way I see it is, they are trying to get 4 women over instead of 2. If Aliyah fumbles the bag you still have Raquel but Aliyah does have a little fan base growing

Atleast they’re actually trying to establish more in the division. If Kai and Sky won, then what? They aren’t losing to anyone except Sasha and Naomi and then you have a grand total of two credible teams.
Not that this was a total success but atleast it’s an attempt to give other people some shine.
But it’s really funny to see some people now starting with the “oh you know Triple H didn’t give Dakota a womens title run in NXT. He didn’t do this, he didn’t do that. Maybe he’s not perfect.” Oh brooooother. Weeks of improved shows and story, one decision you don’t like and it’s to the trash can with you.
All I hear is that the Bloodline is boring, too dominant, holding up all the belts. But then same breath we want similar booking for Bayley and the Gang
