I mean it was mentioned previously but the past few months haven't looked good for AEW no matter how you slice it. Ever since Cody left, the wheels have been falling off fairly quickly. You have MJF walking out (which is bad no matter how you cut it), Warner Discovery in full on cost cutting mode (with AEW under an intense spotlight right now), Tony's constant childish (and sometimes borderline unhinged) tweets, the whole situation with Big Swole, and Emi talking about AEW's mistreatment of the joshi, and the development of the big AEW game being...less than ideal. At this point, Tony needs to hire on some actual executives and a PR firm to get everything back on track instead of trying to do everything himself. This situation isn't really on AEW if MJF, himself, decided to just skip the meet and greet, and walk out, and also chose to blow them off when they WANTED to sit down and dicsuss any contractual issues. Like I think it's being way blown out of proportion that AEW's wheels are falling off, they've grown way bigger than they ever thought in damn near record time, they need to sure some things up, but this MJF situation seems very much on MJF, regardless of the money situation it may entail. Though we might learn more on that later who knows, but that doesn't seem like AEW having issues that's MJF better or worse making his own decision. And Cody was an amicable split, Warner-Discovery seems to really like AEW as a whole and seems very pleased with them, and Khan's tweets aren't "unhinged" at all, the Swole one was the worst, otherwise, they're trollish at worst.

I can stomach contract talk in-universe because wrestling is supposed to be a sport and in real sports playuers raise up stinks about their deals and shit. Fine. Sure. But it's a line you got to walk careful and you've got to use it sparingly. And not in the way WWE does it where everything is about contracts in a way that feels so corporate and alienating and not at all what the kids they want to watch their show could ever care about.

Meltzer posted audio where him, Alvarez, and Zarian all agree that no showing the signing gives WWE no pause on MJF. They still want him full stop.

Interesting Vegas to Newark vs two other airports in the area that are closer to LI...

Yeah, there’s a difference between “hottest free agent” talk and “Tonight, we’re going to have a lawyer talk about pending lawsuits and say a bunch of legal jargon to keep our 35-57 rich asshole demographic”.

Man if he's really taking a red-eye flight to NEWARK he must really want out. Newark is pretty terrible.

Well that'll be fun as he gets to try to be released. MJF right now isn’t “working” in the classic sense of what’s real and what is not. What MJF did tonight, and has done recently speaking out against AEW, is working in the sense of getting out of his current deal (however it happens) will lead to the WWE pay day he wants.

If they desperately want to turn Sammy back to face, they can fill time by having him cut a one sentence promo before his match: "I've always hated MJF."
**Five minute chorus of violent boos.**

Also tweaked the title to take out Samoa Joe since, as said earlier, seems like a non-story.

Random question, IF..IF can be a work. Can MJF actually get on a flight out of Vegas to Newark and then get on a flight back to Vegas in time for the ppv?

I don't get the people who are saying this is a work. There's being a heel and then there's screwing fans out of their money they paid to meet you at a meet and greet. The irony is a lot of people loved MJF acting this way even when he was insulting people, all because "it's part of wrestling." Now however there's backlash. I keep my same stance on it as I had when MJF was doing it, I don't like that "lemme always be a heel even in person" shit. Not even Corbin of all people is like that anymore.

LAS-EWR go out at 10:20, 11:10, and 11:59. I wouldn't read all that much into flying into Newark rather than other airports, it may have just been the cheapest refundable option fir a last minute ticket
