Newark's food scene in general is really underrated. Only been to the airport but I assume there’s a pizza joint somewhere in the city where a bunch of old Italian guys sit outside all day. That's more in the suburbs.

Assuming this is all real, how does this change WWE’s interest?
Do they sign him and do what they would have done with him anyway? Do they refuse to touch him since it would be seen as hypocritical to reward that kind of behavior after Sasha? Do they bring him in and immediately job him out to Miz to teach him a lesson?

Why on earth would you bring Goldberg lol
For an 18-month slow build feud with Captain Insano. Why else?

Any way you slice it, this is not a good look.
Somebody screwed over a lot of fan who paid to be at this fan fest. If it’s a work? Then AEW did. If it’s a shoot? Then MJF did.

Meltzer not reporting this, but just throwing this out there: Could this whole situation be the WWE’s retaliation for Tony Khan’s tweet from last night? What did he tweet? Just throwing this out there: there were reports that MJF and Khan got into a shouting match over MJF doing an unauthorized interview (where of course he put WWE over). From a great distance not being there, seems like a fairly minor deal. But in shouting matches, sometimes things are said. Knowing MJF’s ability to say hurtful/insulting things and twist the knife, it’s doubtful that the son of a billionaire has ever had that happen to him … especially from an employee. So MJF could have said something and Tony isn’t over it, or Tony could have said some things and MJF isn’t over it — or just between what they said it’s become an uncomfortable work environment for both of them. Could have been things simmering since then and they’ve come to a boil.

My guess would be WWE doesn't care because they've always been pretty selective about that anyway when it's someone they especially want, like when Alberto returned.

I think that’s the other aspect, like, if it was a media interview then I’d believe it’s a work because that doesn’t harm anyone and gets buzz which would make me go work. But I don’t know how many people paid to see MJF and get his autograph but even one person doesn’t seem worth the harm.

WWE won't be a land of rainbows either, they'll literally take all the things he uses to get over... MJF literally becomes Less Famous Miz by joining him as his new sidekick. Honestly, any way you do it, you sign MJF and you basically have to run a program with him and Miz, makes too much sense not to. But if this is how he’s gonna behave, why wouldn’t you have your company man humble him?

If MJF wants to leave and could convince him to put over Wardlow first at DON, then you could end the drama...

If they don't sign him it's not because they're worried about being hypocritical, it's because Vince clued in long ago, correctly, that wrestlers willing to burn another promoter for him will be willing to burn him for another promoter if the right situation arises. Will they hire MJF anyway? I mean, it's not impossible, but it's hard to think how this has played out won't diminish his value in their eyes.

Yeah I really doubt this is a work. Because this could do actual harm to the reputation of everyone involved if it was. It's not a weird goof like Bryan Danielson did with his leg where you just laugh it off because that's just Bryan being quirky.

WWE can be petty assholes. They’re not that much of petty assholes. If they wanted to hurt them over something, there were dozens more legit reasons in a business sense and I honestly don’t think Vince would care about a tweet like that.

If I was Tony I would just really just fine him or whatever ,then say whatever and release him and say he isn't welcome back.
there is leaving to make a stand and there is calculating screwing over fans and other wrestlers at a crucial point.
Its fine to leave if you believe it's right but this is much more than that

Yeah, if mjf comes to WWE as a hot free agent with no controversy, I think WWE let's him be him albeit more PG. But like this? I doubt Vince would care as much about the whole respecting booked dates thing as AEW is direct competition. But he's damaged goods because there will be that inkling he could just as easily do it to them.
