Interesting that Sapp says he doesn’t know who booked the flight, whether it was MJF or AEW.

So in the likelihood this was legit, hopefully, this means cooler heads prevailed and the match goes as planned. That said, there needs to be some sort of consequence on ditching the meet and greet because that's pretty shitty. If this entire thing was an elaborate work (which I personally doubt), that's some WCW 2000 shit right there. I’ve seen it said that Jericho blew off an AEW meet and greet at some point in the past. I don’t really remember it but it has come up. If he wasn’t fined/punished, I don’t see how they could do it with MJF.

SRS sent an update on Fightful Select stating that those he talked to say that MJF was not on the plane that left. Sapp just said on stream that MJF wasn’t on the plane. "I got off the plane."

If this somehow, in some f***ing miracle way, turned out to be a work, then keeping some people up till 3 AM to see if MJF would or wouldn't get on a plane, knowing that DoN might be a 4-5 hour PPV tomorrow night, would be one of the biggest heel moves you'd ever see

Well this is a hell of a thing to wake up to. I defended Sasha and Naomi walking out on Raw so I'd be a massive hypocrite if I didn't also support MJF. If you're not happy in your job and you can, then quit.
But damn my boy Wardlow got f***ed.

I support the idea that if you're not happy, you shouldn't put yourself through mental anguish, but yeah MJF not only screwed fans out of a meet and greet but might f*** up someone's career if this isn't remedied, it's a bit higher on the totem pole. I just hope there's still an olive branch that can be reached here if it's legit.

"Dave missed an Eagles show because of this" the f***ing eagles man. He basically laughed at the WWE for having to move MITB from a stadium to an arena and for being dumb enough to try to run a stadium show in Vegas against UFC during International Fight Week. WWE can be petty assholes. They’re not that much of petty assholes. If they wanted to hurt them over something, there were dozens more legit reasons in a business sense and I honestly don’t think Vince would care about a tweet like that. yeah, there are things they could do that don't potentially end up in court over Contract tampering.

And if there’s a case that could blow the independent contractor thing wide open, it’d be something like that and nobody who hires ICs would want that.

It's probably because I'm sleep deprived from the other night but I'm having a giggle fit over the MJG typo.

So 20 pages worth of engagement in 12 hours on one message board is bullshit You don't get this many pages in this few hours on a message board by telling a captivating story. The "CM Punk is back in AEW" thread ended on page 20 and that was massive. Discussing the merits of walking a contract and speculation on if it's a work are not good engagement. Actually, honestly, if there's a large contingent of people going 'I wonder if this is real" then you've honestly failed at telling a story. Even an immersive one. If people are getting pulled out of your story and starting to make judgments about the real life people behind them then that absolutely is not good engagement, that's a problem, and if people who dont want to get jerked around with line-blurring worked shoots find out they got jerked around with line-blurring worked shoots, it's going to further put distance between them and the product, not enrich the experience further. And call me a traditionalist, but the story you tlel should aim to make consuming your product more enjoyable or interesting in some way, not push people away. and again LITERALLY WHAT DOES THIS ADD TO THE STORY BEING TOLD. MJF is an asshole that has been jerking Wardlow around for like 300 years... or so... and then MJF decides to ditch a meet and greet that he was advertised something he has never done before... and usually uses them to get over his smarmy asshole schtick... and then may not pay off the angle that's taken this far? How... how does that make it better? MJF has basically been openly wanting the match too... sure he hid behind a bunch of trials... but that's what he's done for all of his big matches... but he's never fully cowered away from actually competing... he hasn't really been shown to be "afraid" of Wardlow... except the few times he couldn't get the upper hand on him. So no... this doesn't fit the MJF character or the story being told...
