Looking at the stats he turns out to be an intriguing Plan B. He had 4 punts averaging 40 yds, which while not elite is at least better than some actual professional punters last season. When you consider he’s not an actual kicker and he had no time to get ready to play the position, that’s actually stellar results. Why is it intriguing? Well, if he has to punt the results won’t be absolutely disastrous but opposing special teams have to focus on the very real possibility that every punt is a fake punt. The Bills would have a legitimate QB who has started NFL games who, instead of facing a defense full of NFL starters might have the opportunity to throw against guys from the deep end of the bench who are stuck between defending against the pass and blocking for a punt return. |

Downside to watching preseason games? When the end-of-bench players are on the field the local broadcasters might spend an entire segment talking over the game with an owner instead of calling the game. Jim Irsay may still know what he’s talking about, but age has affected his ability to easily communicate. It’s distracting.

It seems to me that they’re cutting off their nose to spite their face simply because they messed up his evaluation. He seemed passable as a guard and simply isn’t suited for play as a tackle. Try to develop him as a guard. You need those as well. |

So after the eagles final pre season game I’m happy with the offensive starters and offense as a whole because there is depth there. The Oline is great.
It’s the other side of the ball where I’m more concerned about because once you go past the first stringers it’s a bit of a factory of sadness. I really hope the defence stays healthy(I know it won’t happen ) because if the eagles need to rely on the backups on defence for any significant number of games, then teams will score on us early and often.
