It's that time of year again, my annual NFL prognostications post. Last season, I was inept in my predictions, expecting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to repeat as Super Bowl champions, besting the Cleveland Browns. Since I started my NFL season predictions post back in 2010, I've accurately projected a Super Bowl champion three times (Green Bay in 2010, New England in 2014 and 2016). Do I break my five-year hex this season?
AFC NORTH Cincinnati Bengals (12-5) Baltimore Ravens (10-7) Cleveland Browns (8-9) Pittsburgh Steelers (8-9)
AFC SOUTH Indianapolis Colts (10-7) Tennessee Titans (10-7) Jacksonville Jaguars (5-12) Houston Texans (3-14)
AFC EAST Buffalo Bills (14-3) Miami Dolphins (8-9) New England Patriots (8-9) New York Jets (5-12)
AFC WEST Kansas City Chiefs (12-5) Los Angeles Chargers (12-5)* Las Vegas Raiders (11-6)* Denver Broncos (10-7)*
WILD CARD ROUND (2) Cincinnati Bengals over (7) Denver Broncos (3) Kansas City Chiefs over (6) Las Vegas Raiders (5) Los Angeles Chargers over (4) Indianapolis Colts
DIVISIONAL ROUND (1) Buffalo Bills over (5) Los Angeles Chargers (3) Kansas City Chiefs over (2) Cincinnati Bengals
CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME (1) Buffalo Bills over (3) Kansas City Chiefs
NFC NORTH Green Bay Packers (12-5) Minnesota Vikings (11-6)* Detroit Lions (7-10) Chicago Bears (5-12)
NFC SOUTH Tampa Bay Buccaneers (12-5) New Orleans Saints (8-9) Carolina Panthers (5-12) Atlanta Falcons (3-14)
NFC EAST Dallas Cowboys (11-6) Philadelphia Eagles (9-8)* Washington Commanders (5-12) New York Giants (4-13)
NFC WEST Los Angeles Rams (13-4) San Francisco 49ers (10-7)* Arizona Cardinals (8-9) Seattle Seahawks (3-14)
WILD CARD ROUND (2) Green Bay Packers over (7) Philadelphia Eagles (6) San Francisco 49ers over (3) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5) Minnesota Vikings over (4) Dallas Cowboys
DIVISIONAL ROUND (1) Los Angeles Rams over (6) San Francisco 49ers (5) Minnesota Vikings over (2) Green Bay Packers
CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP (5) Minnesota Vikings over (1) Los Angeles Rams
SUPER BOWL LVII BUFFALO BILLS over MINNESOTA VIKINGS
MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Deebo Samuel, San Francisco 49ers DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Aaron Donald, Los Angeles Rams OFFENSIVE ROOKIE OF THE YEAR: Breece Hall, New York Jets DEFENSIVE ROOKIE OF THE YEAR: Aidan Hutchinson, Detroit Lions COMEBACK PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Christian McCaffrey, Carolina Panthers COACH OF THE YEAR: Kevin O'Connell, Minnesota Vikings

Bills/Vikings Superbowl would be something special. Both fanbases are so similar and I don't think there would be any hard feelings from the loss. More like "I wish we won but I'm happy to see a fellow brother get their day. Our day will come... maybe. Either way we shall drink!"

Kirk Cousins is never going to take a team to the bowl.

The Eagles released Tartt… the Niners have safety issues. The familiarity is there.., but I don’t want that INT dropping / Super Bowl costing jerk on this team again.

Kirk Cousins is never going to take a team to the bowl. Kirk Cousins is so much better than he gets any credit for. In his four seasons with the Vikings, his ratings have been 99.7 (9th in the NFL), 107.4 (7th), 105.0 (5th), and 103.1 (4th). The only other quarterbacks to have four consecutive top-10 finishes in quarterback rating over the past four seasons have been Patrick Mahomes and Russell Wilson. His interception percentages since coming to Minnesota have been 1.7% (8th in the NFL), 1.4% (9th), 2.5% (26th), and 1.2% (2nd). His touchdown pass totals have been 30 (10th in the NFL), 26 (9th), 35 (7th), and 33 (9th). And all of this has been with Mike Zimmer, a defense-first head coach, and FOUR different offensive coordinators (John DeFilippo, Kevin Stefanski, Gary Kubiak, and Klint Kubiak). Cousins now has an offensive-minded head coach in Kevin O'Connell, who studied at the University of McVay and guided the high-powered Rams offense to a Super Bowl victory, and who brought along the Rams' former pass game coordinator Wes Phillips to be his offensive coordinator in the Twin Cities. There's no reason to think that Kirk Cousins - a talented, arguably top-10 quarterback in the NFL, who now has a settled offensive-minded gameplan - can't lead the Vikings on a deep playoff run.

Don’t think Deebo gets OPY. New gameplan and healthy running backs (for now at least) will have him a little less used. Don’t think they’ll break out the wideback set unless it’s hyper important scenarios. I think Aiyuk will have a breakout season (for real this time) because he has a QB that can utilize his skills.
Honestly with Deebo I think a regression might happen. Dude was terrible two years ago. Showed up to camp fat and injured the first two years of his career. Hopefully he isn’t a case of settling once he got the money.

It seems to me that they’re cutting off their nose to spite their face simply because they messed up his evaluation. He seemed passable as a guard and simply isn’t suited for play as a tackle. Try to develop him as a guard. You need those as well. I mean he hasn't been in trouble as far as I know so that is a plus in itself So no point in not keeping him unless he is an outright bum He was never going to be a LT. But he has potential as a RT. Wouldn't be surprised to see a team with a good track record on the OL to pick him up on the cheap.

Eagerly awaiting the “49ers have released Jimmy Garoppolo” news break. Come on, team! They’ll keep him for two reasons: 1) To spite the Seahawks (though a season of flip-flopping between Smith and Lock means the Seahawks would be in a much better position to draft a real QB that the 49ers will spend years dealing with), 2) They’re holding out hope a contender has an injury and they swing a trade out of desperation (though unless you desperately need a replacement starter for a full season you’d probably do better to trade a conditional 6th to the Steelers for Mason Rudolph, who while not a legitimate starter is a decent spot starter - he has a winning record as a starter, which most backups can’t claim, and at least one of his losses came when he got injured and his backup lost the game for him.)

No chance. They aren’t going to pay him 25 million to just sit at home. Dude hasn’t been given a playbook. Dude hasn’t been invited to team/QB meetings. Dude hasn’t been flown to games or joint practices. He’s as good as gone.

Gonna be awkward as heck for the 49ers this year May as well fxxxing start him again. This is going to be a dark ass cloud hanging over Trey and the second he has a bad game the rumbles will begin. His mental fortitude is about to be tested far more than it needs to be.

I don’t think I’ve been this livid with a team I support since Marvin Bagley happened 4 years ago.
