That's why you suspend him 4 games for each offense. That way you are settling down towards 1 year and you technically have every leg to stand on if you treat each thing as a separate incident worthy of punishment. But the NFLPA is going to say that is unprecedented and a gross misuse of power and cause a big stink about it. Big Ben got 6 games and that was cut to 4. The NFLPA is most like throwing it out there already that they are fine with 6-8 games and will let it rock but anything more and they going to fight it just cause they have to Let them fight. The truth is that Ben's suspension was over a single incident. That's why I said treat each offense as a separate, punishable offense. I don't expect him to get 4-6 games per offense, but 1 game each is almost palatable. Either that or suspend him for the 8 games based on the things you have investigated SO FAR (they have not gotten involved in any of the cases that are still pending), and warn that the punishment for any offenses you learn of after that suspension is handed down will be stiffer. Now that Watson has settled many of his lawsuits you can assume other accusers will be less reluctant to come forward, enticed by an increased opportunity to get paid themselves. Each new accusation gets an increased punishment. That, or Watson takes a stiff penalty for all incidents to date and no longer has to worry about league sanctions based on PAST actions. He clearly has a problem that likely will manifest again, so I would be shocked if he keeps his nose clean moving forward. |

It was for a conditional 5th that could be a 4th, plus the Browns pay for over $10M of his salary. Baker is younger and is probably better than Wentz, but the Colts swapped 2nds (moving up), got a 3rd and a conditional 3rd that can become a 2nd without having to contribute to his salary moving forward. That looks like an utter fleecing of the Commanders, even more so today. |
