They're cap situation is crap and they have no picks. Saints have shown that cap nightmares are not a real impediment. They're also a team in a bad spot with a pretty bleak future.

With coaching vacancies abound in the NFL, as I like to do every year, I'll take a swing at who I believe will land these gigs. Last year, I went 1-for-8 (only accurately predicting Mike McDaniel to Miami). There are presently five head coaching vacancies in the NFL, and here are how I expect them to be filled in the coming days and weeks.
Arizona Cardinals: Ken Dorsey (current position: Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator) - With the amount of money the franchise has invested in Kyler Murray, this has to be an offensive-minded head coach, even though the Cardinals had one of the very worst defenses in the NFL in 2022. I think Arizona looks at the success Dorsey has had with Josh Allen and hopes he can replicate it with Kyler, and vice-versa.
Carolina Panthers: Steve Wilks (current position: Carolina Panthers interim head coach) - People keep saying this is one of the more attractive destinations of the off-season. The benefits are there: you have an owner who is willing to spend and a division that is ripe for the taking. However, you also have a roster that is not very good and a market that has never really been viewed as a destination in free agency. Wilks got the most out of this team when they could have packed it in, and I think that could, and should, be rewarded with a full-time head coaching opportunity.
Denver Broncos: Jim Harbaugh (current position: University of Michigan head coach) - With a new ownership group in town and a team that has invested significant capital into Russell Wilson, the Broncos won't go out and hire some retread or no-name. The Walton-Penner group is going to look to make a splash with their first move as owners, and what bigger splash than to lure Jim Harbaugh back into the pro ranks after successfully turning Michigan back into a national powerhouse?
Houston Texans: DeMeco Ryans (current position: San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator) - As I said a few days ago, this will be the Texans' fifth head coach in four seasons. This has to be the coach that stands at the helm of the ship for at least the next half-decade, guiding Houston through what is sure to be some rough waters. But with two of the top 12 picks in this year's NFL Draft, and a lackluster division, Ryans, at 38, will have time to turn this team around, and could do so starting on the defensive side of the ball, where he's excelled in the Bay Area.
Indianapolis Colts: Shane Steichen (current position: Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator) - This could be the toughest turnaround. There's no quarterback, the roster is woefully thin, and you have a meddlesome owner who is ready to cut out your knees at the first sign of trouble. I do not envy Steichen, if he's hired for this job. But he's got the resume, with a track record of success coordinating offenses led by the likes of Justin Herbert and Jalen Hurts.

Colts may as well keep Saturday. lol. That’s almost a no win situation and I can’t see an established coach or a coordinator with a lot of buzz taking that gig. My guess is that they get someone off the radar. Maybe it works, maybe not.

Even though Ryans had a very good career with the Texans, I would hope a name as well-regarded as him would pass on the Texans job and go to a franchise that isn't incompetent. And I fully expect your prediction to come true that Eric Bieniemy gets passed over again.

Saints have shown that cap nightmares are not a real impediment. Yes and no. You can kick the can down the road, but only for so long True, but nearly every team suffers that stumble eventually. Some even faceplant. The point is that you can work around cap issues, even if eventually your solution is to trade away all veterans and have 12-14 draft picks and play a lot of UDFAs for a season dedicated to eating 70% of your cap to dead money. Somehow the Saints have done that without totally eating dirt. Honestly, I am shocked that Cam Jordan has not been traded away for picks. I thought for sure it was coming.

Jim Harbaugh will absolutely be looking to get back into the pros. I wouldn't have said that before since it looked like he had a good thing going at Michigan. But now it feels like the Wolverines have peaked (seriously, just imagine Jimmy H watching the National Title Game and saying 'That team beat us...') and with all the enticing landing spots, seems like the perfect time to bounce. I'm sure several teams would want him, but I bet Jim would really want either the Cardinals or Rams to invite him back into that division.

I don't think that loss is so much the issue as the potential punishment for buying some recruits a hamburger is.

Mike LaFleur and the Jets are mutually parting ways. Apparently teams were reaching out about the availability of MLF and he wanted to explore those options.
Saleh needs to hit a home run on a hire for OC, this team will never win anything if they can't field a competent offense. Just to give an example about how inept the Jets have been at offense. Brian Schottenheimer was the last OC to last more than 2 seasons his last season with the organization was back in 2011. And you know it would be ok if you know other teams were poaching our OCs to be head coaches but nope they just keep getting fired.

Derek Carr announced he will no longer be returning to the Raiders. The writing was on the walls with this but it's now official.

On MLF leaving I think it officially shuts the door on Jimmy G to the Jets because honestly if you were gonna bring in Jimmy you might as well have kept the Shanahan offense he's familiar with

That's not exactly a recipe for success Sure but my problem with Carr is that as soon as there is pressure on him to succeed he folds. Like Carr has shown he can put up numbers be a winning QB but he just isn't consistent in that ability to do it week to week season to season. And sure you can blame the coaching carousel for some of that but great QBs can still find success with lack luster coaching or skill players and Carr just isn't going elevate himself when he needs to

Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes Mahomes received 49 of 50 first team All Pro votes.
This virtually guarantees that Mahomes is in line for his second NFL MVP award.
14 of the last 15 NFL MVPs have been the first team All Pro quarterback pick.
