Okay so for some reason I have been on a Ghostwriter binge with I'm A Pop Sensation and I just found out that there is a kind of Reboot Series going on. I haven't seen anything from the new one but the synopsis doesn't sound like I would enjoy it if I saw it. I have found memories of the original version and I even watched it with my daughter when she was growing up but I was wondering if anyone has seen or heard of anything about this new series and if it's better than the original?

I absolutely adored this show when I was a kid. I remember almost nothing about it, but I definitely remember it was kind of dark for a kid's show at times. The fact that Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? came on right before it definitely helped.
Unfortunately by the mid 90's, PBS decided to be almost exclusive to the Under Age 7 crowd when it came to youthful programming, at least in my area. Arthur, Wishbone and The Magic School Bus were okay, but everything else was too youthful.

Is Hoodman involved?
Because if he's not I don't want any parts of it

This is what wikipedia's post on the premise of this Reboot Version:
I don't really know how to perceive this as I am totally an Original Fan. Now please know that my assumptions on who the characters in the new version represent are purely based on the Original's Possible Counterparts and have no actual certainty if these new people are the new versions of the old characters

I remember loving the original version as a kid, but in hindsight I don't remember a damn thing about it beyond the premise.
So a couple months ago I became genuinely curious if Kristin Kreuk had been in anything since she left Smallville (besides Legend of Chun-Li). Looking up her filmography on Wikipedia I discovered she guest starred in a couple episodes of the reboot version. That is the first I ever heard of the new series.

Plus with the original I loved how it kind of digged deep into the villains psyche and why they did what they did and what they were thinking to make them do what they did. Yeah it's more toned down for both kids and older audiences but it did alot for it's time

I loved the 90's version of the show- such a great concept! I haven't seen the new one. Now I want to re-watch the old one...

The Slime Monster was the greatest thing to ever be made as a horror character for a kids show. Now I want to see The Slime Monster vs Chucky at All Out or Wrestlemania

There was a new ghostwriter?!
Damn, I had that Apple TV subscription I didn’t use for 11 months before I started Ted Lasso. Who knew there was another show I’d actually want to watch

I loved Ghostwriter growing up and it still remains one of my favorite shows ever. I always find myself going back to it often. Also, I don't know if anyone has ever made this theory, but I firmly believe that Luther from The Warriors is Double T from Ghostwriter. Okay so let's think about it. Double T (aka Thomas Norburt/Tommy Truborn) was a Vietnam Veteran. The Vietnam War ended on April 30, 1975. The Warriors takes place in New York in 1979. July 12, 1979, to be precise. So, Luther could very well be the same guy in Ghostwriter, but he and the rest of The Rouges were supposedly killed by The Riffs at the end of the movie but what if Luther was left alive or left for dead but survived and basically decided to be homeless. It would explain why he shot Cyrus for no reason but him being in Vietnam would give him mental issues which pretty much made it easy for him to shoot Cyrus without regrets. Ghostwriter takes place in 1992 and so on so he could very well have been the same guy but with no gang behind him and being homeless and changed his name to Double T so he couldn't be found out by The Riffs over the years.

I absolutely loved the original series growing up. When I was in third grade, the teachers would have all the classes get together in the afternoon to watch episodes taped off of PBS the previous Sunday. I specifically remember us watching the episode where Rob and Double T's daughter were looking for him.
It was one of those shows I could never get enough of. My Grammy even put a small TV on her porch for me to watch it one night when we were visiting. I remember for one of the pledge drives, they aired the entire contaminated garden arc in prime time, along with a preview of season 2. Got the first season on DVD, I wish the rest of the series was also available, because season 2 had most of my favorite stories: Galaxy Girl, the team fighting, What's Up With Alex, Ghostwriter traveling in Time, Max Mouse...
(I actually thought the last season was the weakest the show did and in my head, it ended with season 2 lol)
