I hope it’s back to faces vs heels. I didn’t like the brand warfare concept that they reintroduced (remember SSeries 2005) in 2016 (especially at first) but it has grown on me a bit. It made the event extra special but there are these things:
- Stars who were just drafted all of a sudden are loyal to their new brand despite them being drafted only a month prior. But, to be fair, I think Fox made the decision to have the draft in October.
- Stars all of a sudden hate the opposite brand.
- Having faces and heels be on the same teams for every match is not as appealing as having faces vs heels. Maybe do one match where faces and heels are on the same team and the rest are traditional.

WWE vs. NXT would be interesting.
Give the kids a chance against the main roster.

I would use SS to lay the groundwork for the Rumble. Team Captains would be chosen to assemble teams for traditional SS matches. The winning teams would get favorable numbers in the Rumble while losing team members might not even be in the Rumble.
Of course something like this would require planning in advance. I am honestly surprised that the Rumble has not been moved to a few weeks before Mania so Vince doesnt have to commit to a plan for any length of time.

The brand split is dead? I've heard rumors of them possibly ending but nothing official.
When it comes to Survivor Series though I agree that they need to end the brand warfare and go back to heels vs. faces for elimination matches. It was cool the first year but it's really run it's course at this point. Having the draft in October a month before it makes it even more dumb. It's far fetched as it is to buy that the wrestlers care about the brand they are on but even more so when the brand they are opposing is the one the one they were on for a year.

I'm sure the brand split will be in full force by the time SS comes around. The networks will want draft shows.

Can't wait for them doing the same stupid crap they do every year with all the wrestlers in red and blue shirts having pep rallies and invading the opposing show while we're supposed to believe the likes of Seth Rollins or Kevin Owens really give a crap what show they are on. All the while the announcers hype it as the one time of year stars from Raw and Smackdown fight each other despite it not being true at all.

I've completely fell away from watching but do they not have separate titles etc so in effect the split is still there?

Even when the original draft was dead, SS was still "Raw vs Smackdown" even though it made no sense.

wwe vs other sports. wwe vs celebrities. traditional heel team vs traditional face team with the heel winners vs face winners ( the 80's nostalgia will kick in for Vince soon.) wwe vs random other company ( wwe wins lol.) McMahon family faction war, four teams each headed up by a McMahon captain. Vince McMahon: this is your (positively edited.) life ppv tribute show due to him finally retiring (for three weeks before he takes over again to fix the company).
wwe brings in former stars who hit big in Hollywood for a buy rate bump but forgets to actually book the stars and has to quickly edit together video messages from all of them.

Sadly no. One other positive thing about the brand warfare is that as far as singles and tag matches, we got matches that we very rarely see. Like two tag champs meeting each other, wrestler x meeting wrestler y etc.
