For your ears: The original by Evanescence - youtu.be/5dIAqlqaCzs?t=9Christian Cage's - www.youtube.com/watch?v=GnHJ2SXCvqcCan you think of any other themes that are blatantly a rip-off of a known song? I remember for a minute Alicia Fox had a song that sounded like Hot in Here by Nelly, and Carmella had an Iggy Azelea vibe to her Fabulous theme.

This was the same theme Christian used in TNA/IMPACT as well, I guess AEW thought that it recognizable enough and worked well for him that they didn't bother to give Cage anything else.

Every other wrestler in WCW for starters.
Rob Conway's theme seemed like a bad ripoff of the Toy Story theme of all things.

Toni Storm's "Barracuda" knock-off is probably the next most blatant on the AEW roster. The Varsity Blondes' "Welcome to the Jungle" knock-off isn't quite a blatant and has some other sources, but it's clear what it's supposed to sound like.
Leyla Hirsch's theme is both a subtler rip-off and a more obscure song, "Miss the Misery" by Halestorm - dunno how many people would catch that at all if it weren't her indy theme for easy comparison.

Honestly, most of his cheapy covers ruled lol. Especially Christian's.

Kevin Nash coming out to a Still D.R.E. knockoff that sounded like it was made in 2 minutes is one of those TNA things that remains forever embedded in my brain.

Honestly, most of his cheapy covers ruled lol. Especially Christian's. I really loved James Storm's "Electric Rodeo" ripoff, personally. Shocker's ripoff of "Whatever" was also awesome. But, yeah, in WCW, and TNA especially it's almost harder to name the 100% original themes than the ripoffs.

Isn't it just a ripoff of the original Close Your Eyes song by Waterproof Blond he used when he left for TNA?

Isn't it just a ripoff of the original Close Your Eyes song by Waterproof Blond he used when he left for TNA? It’s the same same exact riff though. There’s zero variation to it. Close your eyes may have sounded similar but it wasn’t a copy

I'm glad he kept this theme. I absolutely love it.
TNA was full of these. Monty Browns ripoff of "Down with the Sickness" is a favorite.
WCW had several. Raven's theme is just Come As You Are by Nirvana. Rick Steiners "Dog Pound" is a SHOCKING ripoff of "Welcome to the Jungle." The riff is the exact same.

Tomko's TNA theme was a pretty obvious rip of "Vicarious" by Tool.
I remember Daffney's (and, by extension, Crowbar's and David Flair's) WCW theme being a shockingly blatant knockoff version of "Burn" by Nine Inch Nails.

I mean, welcome to November 2005, I guess. Thank you for your contribution! He's not wrong, though; it's the same theme he's had since he went to TNA, basically an instrumental of "My Last Breath" or whichever one it is. Ah, 2005, the end of the "frosted tips aren't so bad, actually" era. ...wait, that's terrible.

Chris Sabin had the one-winged angel "SA-BIN SA-BIN" theme, right?

Carmella's "Fancy" ripoff was one of the more blatant ones.

Ah, 2005, the end of the "frosted tips aren't so bad, actually" era. ...wait, that's terrible. It's just funny how the first post presents it as some shocking revelation when it's like "... Yeah we've known this for 17 years give or take." Dale Oliver made Jimmy Hart look like he composed nothing but originals lol.
