So the closest theater showing it is apparently in f***ing Staten Island. I'm guessing since this isn't one of the big four shows, less theaters are carrying. But between tolls, food, etc. it probably costs more to do that than just ordering the PPV at home. So, unfortunately going to have to pass because $50 for a PPV is a pretty tough deal for me now. There’s a Cinemark in Wayne, NJ showing it if you want to avoid the bridge toll

Sigh. Iono. The build’s been piss-poor but the event itself will probably be fun. That’s how I thought DON would turn out and apparently it was meh.
75% probably not. 25% maybe on the day if I’m in a good mood and/or bored.

Was gonna go to a theater to see it but the closest one is 45 miles away and by the time I pay for food and gas and the like I’ve already spent more than the ppv costs itself. Plus my wife has no clue about NJPW so she doesn’t feel like sitting through this ppv at all.

I will be ordering it as I was always hyped for it the moment it was announced, but I am very much in the “disappointed in the build” camp.
They have had some rotten luck with injuries which is not on them, but I think like many posters here that they had to do more to build the importance of both NJPW and it’s stars to viewers who had never seen them. Literally all they did for four weeks was “look here is this guy from NJPW!” and that was supposed to be enough to get people who had either barely (or indeed never) heard of them invested. They have made it feel too niche for a lot of people when it should have been a home run and had people salivating to see these guys more.
I also cannot fathom why they didn’t build more heavily around Okada either, implying right until the last minute the biggest star in the promotion wasn’t even going to be there. He now feels tacked on in the four way. I would love to know why Tetsuya Naito isn’t involved too as I thought him interacting with Sammy for stealing his pose every week was an open goal.
The language barrier is an issue in some cases for promos etc but they could have even asked to show an historic NJPW match or two each week on Dynamite since they announced Forbidden Door. They had to make this feel like a much more epic must see event, and as another poster said it would be a crying shame to me if this PPV does a poor buy rate (which it looks like it might) and AEW does nothing further with NJPW because of it.
It’s a wonderful opportunity moving forward for both the talent in NJPW to be seen by more people in the west (which they so deserve to be) and for AEW to create classic dream match ups for some time to come. Let’s hope the PPV can still be the platform for that.

I ordered it. I had to sell one of my kidneys but the PPV is worth it.

My days of ordering $50 PPVs are over. Hopefully one day AEW has a network, even if it's just $10 a month for PPVs.

I want AEW to have a network so badly lol. "A Day in the Life of Abadon" Abadon: ''Home visit'' series Luchasaurus special featuring a tour around his ''home'' which ''happens'' to be a jungle full of Dinosaurs whilst he talks about his education. Britt Baker giving a tour of her Dentist's office as she pulls a patient's tooth out. Ruby Soho on a Rock Night Out. And MORE for for just $9.99 a month along with Dynamite, Rampage, Dark, Evolution and ALL the PPVS!

I would also do a Season Pass sort of deal for PPVs. The thing is, I don't know how many they usually have a year. 4? 5? If it were $100-120 (ie $20-30 a PPV) that is about the upper limit of my price point, but one I would be willing to pay for once a year.

I want to do badly but after Dish and BR f***ed up the last show for me, I just can't. Oh why can't they get a good streaming service?! I'm really jealous of international fans who get FITE. While that app has issues it isn't as buggy as BR
