Various recordings of plays and musicals have to be something the biggest lost/locked away media for me. Stuff like the numerous on stage adaptations of A Clockwork Orange and Brave New World would be really cool to see, but even tapes that were made of them are rarely ever released publicly. Best bet for those is hit up a convention and see if any dealers still carry "grey market" dvd-rs. That is how I got a decent cam rip of Evil Dead teh Musical and Carrie teh Musical.

YouTube video example: The Flock of Seagulls/Rob Feinstein mashup someone on the DVDVR boards created. Bix made that. It is still around just a bit harder to find.

There was a doc about the history of MTV in like 99/2000 and it was really interesting. It aired on MTV proper and have not seen it since. They only air that one they did with A&E which is fine but I would love to see that original one again!

So white whale was found recently! The three hour cut of George A. Romero's Martin was found. It's in black and white, but I really want to see it.
That said, some other whales:
The lost footage from Tod Browning's Freaks.
Not exactly lost but the censored eleven. All the cartoons are out there though.
The "Sex in the 90s" documentaries MTV would air
The Christine Chubbock footage (I'm fascinated by the woman and her tragedy) saying this, I'm not sure I'd watch it. The audio is out there however.

Having been on a Mythbusters kick recently (and as a big Mythbusters fan based on my ye olde avatar pic), something that I would love to see is the lost footage from the "Breakfast Cereal" myth. Said myth was about the cardboard box from a breakfast cereal having more nutritional value than the cereal itself. There was a whole segment where they tested the theory with lab rats, where one group was fed regular pellets, one group was fed sugary cereal, and the last group was fed cardboard. Said experiment was left to run a few days and over the weekend. When they came back from the weekend, there was a bit of a surprise. The cardboard group, instead of there being three mice, there was one really fat alive mouse and the remains of two dead mice. Adam Savage had shown a rough cut of the footage to a couple colleges (which the students loved) before Discovery told him "Dude, do not show that footage again." I believe Adam still has the footage somewhere and I would like to see it as it sounds morbidly hilarious.

The broadcast version of the Sunbow Transformers cartoon, rather than the animation error packed early print they've used since the Kid Rhino dvd release.
The Voltron pilot episode which used redubbed Daltanious rather than GoLion. Originally the plan for the show was to use Daltanious, but when they asked for more footage of the one with the lion, their Japanese partner sent GoLion instead and they ended up liking that better. Also on that note, if any pilot exists of Albegas dubbed into Voltron, I'd love that too.

I've got a few: -The ADV test dub of Gurren Laggan. I read that several episodes of the series was dubbed by ADV (nowadays more or less reincarnated into Sentai Filmworks), but lost the rights to dub it due to the financial problems that eventually caused ADV's closure, with Bandai & Bang Zoom Productions in L.A. taking over the dub. I know a few minutes of the test dub made it's way online, but I'm kinda interested to see how it sounded compared to the redub done in L.A. -The Phantom Blood movie. I know there have been many videos on YT about the topic, an trailer for an earlier version of the film (which would have included Speedwagon, among other things) was already found, and the first 15 minutes (albeit without audio) had been released on YT, but I'm interested to see why the few people who saw it in theaters gave it negative reviews. -WCW's internet-only audio-only streams. All I know about them is that there were 6 events in total: - WCW Saturday Nitro (6/28/1997) in Inglewood, California
- WCW Battle In Seattle (9/19/1997) in Seattle, Washington
- WCW Boston Brawl (1/31/1998) in Boston, Massachusetts
- WCW Malice At The Palace (no relation) (4/2/1998) in Tampa, Florida
- WCW Profiles in Pain (5/2/1998) in North Charleston, South Carolina
- WCW L.A. Melee (7/10/1998) in Inglewood, California
The only footage I know of in one match between Dean Malenko & Eddie Guerrero at Saturday Nitro. I think those sound pretty good and interesting to know about, but I do not know if WWE has the audio recordings in their vaults. -The last few ECW Hardcore TV episodes. I know the final tapings occurred on December 15, 2000 in New York City's Elk Lodge in Queens, and apparently had enough footage for five episodes, but only two episodes worth of footage aired and there are some that were either half-done or not made at all. -The unaired dubbed episodes of F-Zero GP Legend. Only about 15 of the 51 episodes of the dub aired and the rest weren't, possibly due to low ratings the show had. While I know the finalie of the show was put on YT, I don't know if the rest of the series was, and if the rest of the series was actually dubbed or not.

Closest I can think of of the Voltron examples would be a promo that has Daltanious clips...this is seen in one of the DVD sets, forget which. Oddly, said promo I think has Daltanious AND Golion footage! On the same, someone did a "What If?" intro with Albegas using the Voltron narration and theme.

Kurt Russell's first cut of Tombstone apparently exists, though Russell himself admits they he doesn't know where it is now and would have to reassemble it from scratch using his production notes as guidance should he ever get the chance to officially release it. I'd love to see that. The extended version of the Crow sequel that apparently was on some PPV circuits in the 90s but I can't find anywhere. It's apparently a lot better when it's not a terrible clone of the original. About 20 years ago I was lucky enough to watch both the workprint version of the first movie and the PPV Cut of City of Angels (which I believe is itself a late-stage workprint). The PPV Cut is far superior to the hack job that was ultimately, though doesn't fix a lot of the movie's glaring problems.

Some, but not all, with the fixes being of variable quality or fixes of fixes made by Rhino for their versions. The kid Rhino releases have been the ones used for streaming so it looks like that's going to be it for fixes going forward unless full broadcast tapes turn up somewhere, or Hasbro pour a lot of money into having the whole lot remastered/repaired/reanimated themselves, which is super unlikely at this point.

A complete run of WCW Live (the streaming online WCW audio show hosted by Jeremy Borash and Bob Ryder) pisodes. Just like the Internet Audio Broadcasts mentioned above, I don't know if recordings of any of these exist...

Vince Russo's radio program from the early '90s. All I have of it now was the (since pulled) YouTube audio reel of people prank calling him. Used to have a snippet on a long lost cassette too.

I think the sounds were among what they fixed, but it's been a long time since their release so I may be wrong. Rumour had it they made and broadcast a full pilot episode of Daltanious Voltron in test markets. With Albegas, it's unknown if they ever got that far along given how vehicle voltron tanked but I wouldn't be shocked if dubbed test footage and scripts existed in some form

I think someone confirmed it as a recreation, so perhaps they did not bother to dub any Albegas after said Vehicle tanking (no pun intended). I could be wrong though. It would be amazing to find that a Dalt. Voltron pilot existed.

The original work print of (the original) Child's Play was something like 2 hours (maybe longer?) before they cut it down. I'd love to see all the deleted footage re-inserted back into the movie or at least as a Special Feature on a future release.

The R rated cut of Galaxy Quest. Isn't it literally just slight dubbing of "f***" and a topless shot of Weaver
