In 2002 Vince hires Eric Bischoff to serve as the GM of Raw, Easy E of course having been the brains behind WCW's peak and nearly putting the fed out of business. Bischoff has often stated he joined the Fed purely as on-screen talent rather then a behind the scenes role. What was your opinion on Bischoff in the role? Was he effective as a heel boss and how does it compare to WCW where he had much more input into his on-screen persona.

Like a lot of talents, it was a good run, but there was so much wasted potential for big money angles.

Eric is so much better as an onscreen character than a creative. He was completely willing to do whatever they asked and he turned some stuff that shouldn't have worked into absolute gold

Eric's biggest achievement in wrestling is his portrayal of authority figure. Vince has nothing on him. Nothing. Vince is a cartoon caricature of evil boss but Bischoff is the real deal, something you might find in your own cubicle office. He is slimy, he is backstabbing, he is brutal and sadistic ego centric yet he is a real coward. Hands down the best authority figure in wrestling. Ever.
When it comes to his WWF run like anything they touched from WCW it's super lackluster. They should have done way too many things with him but then he would be competing with Vince head to head. Russo had much better idea how to introduce Eric to WWF.

He was legitimately a great fit and performer during his time.
When he was taken off Raw, it was legitimately the first steps in a downward decline in my enjoyment of the show.

I thought he had a great run and enjoyed his time as the Raw GM.

Tremendous success. The *only* thing I wish they'd went with longer was post head shave when he was more of a neutral, no nonsense GM.

Interesting character, albeit a tad overrated at times. Still, that's really only a tad, and he was usually pretty effective at what they needed him for.
Also, he made out with Stephanie once and to this day, I don't know what the f*** that was about.

Wearing a mask of her dad just before to make it even weirder

He had his ups and downs. First he was a tweener leaning heel obsessed with beating Stephanie to be the top brand. Then he became the standard heel GM doing whatever H and Evo wanted. After he got his head shaved he went the tweener route again. Then back to generic heel GM to try and recreate McMahon/Austin with Cena.
I really liked him when he went the tweener route. He was good as a heel, even when the writing failed him, but it was a waste.

He was good. After a while his heel work got old with the same old babyface handicap matches that was over done but thats on the writing. He played the role itself very well.

He came back and was better than ever. Also taught us the valuable lesson that all precious things in life can be gone in 3 minutes.

I didn't know who Bischoff was when he debuted. I thought he was fantastic in his role. Great of the mic, an absolutely great heel. TNA Bischoff sucked and modern Bischoff is another gimmick podcaster, but he was great then
