Fun match, but hampered by Santana injury and IT HAVING COMMERCIALS. We miss a bunch of spots just based crowd reactions well the camera was on the wrong people.
The timing with commercials was pretty bad too, but that's been an issue I've see for a few weeks now.
I know shit when sideways when Santana got hurt, but way to much down time in ring at the end imo. 4 people on the roof and 6 man not shown in ring for the last maybe 10 minutes of the match was f***ing stupid too.
Finally I'm going to assume it was going to be a flaming table spot , but wtf was up with the rubbing alcohol being brought in by Eddie only for the bottle to some how get outside where Tay would tried to push it through the chain and it basically leaking everywhere well Jericho was trying to pull on it and it was never seen again. Just weird

Just weird Looked like it somehow got knocked out of the cage. Not sure how the hell that happened and Jericho and Tay looked confused as well.

First match had higher highs, this one was more consistently good and had a better finish.
But I think I'd be less interested in rewatching it than in reading an account by the wrestlers of everything that went wrong.

On a side note, if we get a Ruby vs. Tay feud out of this. That’d be great.

I know they set it up in the video package but that random two second Ruby Soho cameo was still really weird. It's been subtle but she's shown to be someone who gives a damn about him. I remember she was the first one to get to him after the fireball for example. Ruby and Bryce are the only people presented as actually being concerned about his physical & mental wellbeing.

Just weird With it leaking like that, smart decision by them to not attempt a fire spot. One ember lands on a spot where it leaked, and there's a problem.

I enjoyed it. One problem I had with it is that the advantage really didn't come into play as much as it should've and as a result the match didn't have the ebb and flow that works in these matches. Like the faces would still be kicking the heels asses even after the heels were outnumbering them. And then there was times where the heels would start beating the faces down when the sides were even.
Glad I'm not the only one who had no clue how the heck the one 2.0 guy got outside the cage and was hanging upside down. So strange.
Felt bad for Santana. Seemed so pumped and then he gets injured in like ten seconds.
Liked the Claudio and Hager callback. Always love when they do continuity stuff like that.
Got a kick out of Regal on commentary.
Loled at JR flubbing up after the match and saying Cesaro.

A match like this works best under PPV where there's no commercial breaks to interrupt the flow

I legit just realized that there were 5 Chikara roster members in the main event. Should have just called it Cibernetico

I feel like this match also shows why video packages can work really well. And giving the post match time to Breathe instead of rushing to the next thing, can be good as well.

Last year's match was better for the first 3/4 of the match than this years, but this years ending blew away last years.
I really enjoyed the match, so my comments probably come off as more negative than they actually are... I thought the opening sequence with Claudio and Sammy was really weird and clunky.... The extra deathmatch plunder was unnecessary. It was already supposed to be violent and bloody... The Claudio/Hager call back was fun. The bottle spot will end up being a funny thing on Botchamania. ... The Santana injury was unfortunate....
The single worst part of both matches continue to be the camera work and directing. Like not knowing what camera to be focusing on and missing spots. Random shit coming out of nowhere because it wasn't shown (Angelo Parker just hanging outside the cage). Purposely showing Jericho and Tay trying to get that bottle back in the cage.
Overall, the show was like one of those specialty milkshakes at a fancy ice cream shop with brownies and cupcakes and twizzlers and gummy bears and hot fudge all on top of the mason jar its served in. Very good, but just sooo much to take in all at once.

I felt like the commercials and PIP really ruined a lot of the match for me. But the stuff I saw I enjoyed. Im just wondering how can they top this one. They did a lot of big spots that I dont can be replicated. And boy Santana going down with a possible knee injury is the worse. Who summoned Papa Shango to curse AEW?

I think this was the first wrestling match I’ve watched since Night 1 of Mania. It has the general War Games vibe of “There’s way too much going on but it’s generally a fun brawl.”
Something I really liked: Eddie Kingston’s expression of pure glee after throwing Sammy off the cage. I’m tired of the “thousand yard stare of intense intensity” when someone tries to murder someone else, glad to see Eddie enjoying it.
Something I really didn’t like: Jim Ross should have retired a long time ago and his performance really showed that fact.

I really enjoyed it lots of good moments. The swing on top of the cage was insane, Sammy put in an excellent performance, Mox with the glass and tubes, Kingston’s reaction to throwing Sammy off the cage, Garcia’s reaction to getting busted open, Angelo hanging from the cage, the Real Americans call back. Loved the finish too.
I honestly thought Jericho was going to beat Mox at one point they had me good. Assume Jericho is going away for a while (I know he has an Inside The Ropes U.K. tour coming up).

Damn this match is cursed, it was cool but like others said the teased fire not happening and injuries stopped it being a classic. Plus the camera missing a couple of big spots and the skewers not getting embedded. Looked like Jericho failed to get something out of his pocket on the top too.
The resulting downtime at the end was really awkward but the swing saved it, Claudio is a mad man, followed that up by running about up there while the others tiptoed.
