Chris Jericho just said on Instagram that the top of the cage swing was one of the most terrifying spots in his entire career. Considering how storied his career is, that's really saying something.

That felt something out of the Predator movie lol...
I said something similar to my daughter. “I’ve seen this scene in a horror film I’m sure” I also had no idea how the heck he got out at first And I was also having heart palpitations at the top of cage swing I really enjoyed it but didn’t have constant PiP interruptions which most likely helped I think

So we are finally watching Dynamite and had to rewind it as we caught Eddie saying:
"i dont know what happened but i cant get up. my back. but i am alright though" to Claudio on top of the cage immediately following the fist bump. He then could not stand on his own accord very well at all.
That was pretty scary. Great show but some of the spots were a bit one at a time to wait-around then execute.

I'm even more impressed with the match knowing how much they had to improvise given when at least two things went wrong. The fact they managed to keep the match as entertaining and riveting as it was really speaks volumes.

The use of the tables with a big cover over them for Sammy to fall onto was done way better than the weird crash mat from last year.

The amount of trust he put in Claudio for that spot is insane. I know that you have to trust your opponent for literally every move, but this one was on another level.

I laughed when Tazz said Ruby Riott.

Multiple torn ligaments off of just planting his foot wrong while doing a safe move. It's crazy how you can take an insane bump but someone standard can put you on the shelf for a year.

Yep, looked like a very slight hesitation, and that was it This is why when people say "They need to hold a meeting about their styles" like... no they don't. This is how a lot of injuries happen, missteps on the most common of moves. For all the people who got torn apart in that match, it was a lot of superficial damage... Santana does a move he does in every single match, and... disaster. It sucks, given how bad of a year Santana had personally, I hope the dude's ok.

The top of the cage swing was the scariest thing I've seen in ages.

Kinda makes me happy we've entered a more enlightened era than, "torn quads are the funniest thing ever, har har har", and that people seem to realize this shit just... happens sometimes.

Also I thought heard Eddie asking if "they were on break" aka commercial, when they first got on top of the cage and Sammy was 'pushing' Eddie's head into the cage. Seemed like he was asking Sammy and Chris if they were on commercial

Btw, hope this ends the "does Eddie really hate Claudio" post. Seemed they got along fine especially at the end

I just want to chime in and say that I found that particular spot to be one of my favorite in the history of pro wrestling...and it speaks volumes about what a trusted pro Claudio is that Jericho even agreed to it. Just so many ways that could have gone wrong, but in a match where Sammy Guevara took the closest thing possible to a Foley bump in modern wrestling, I think that the Jericho in the swing is going to be the most enduring memory of that match I have.

More often than not, it's the basic and most simplest moves that anyone can perform that winds up doing the most damage

Am I the only one who thought this match was boring? Yeah, it had the swing on top and Sammy's fall, and a ton of blood, among other spots, but it was boring for most of the beginning. JAS in my opinion got destroyed even with the advantage. The prime example was when the 4th member was entering, Moxley, Claudio and Wheeler were toying with him because the 3 other members of JAS were out cold. That's what most of the match: a semi-competitive spot fest squash until Jericho came in. In my opinion, a match like this needs to be more back and forth. I haven't seen the other Blood and Guts, my only experience with this match is the last few from nXt.

I have a big gripe with the end of the match. When it was just Kingston and Jericho up there, it only focused on them. Everyone else just later around down below, so the camera just stayed on Kingston and Jericho stalling.
