I have nothing against Pat McAfee but this is the kinda stuff that is wrong with today's WWE.

LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I love the dude, but with as active he is in all his endeavors the thought of him deciding to move onto newer things had been on the back of my mind recently.
Glad he’s sticking around!

It's not just about McAfee, it's about how they've spent money on Bad Bunny, Tyson Fury, Logan Paul etc etc etc. They are pumping out big contracts for celebs while cutting the base roster to bare bones and doing "budget cuts" Tell me this sounds like a recipe for long term success.

He's said that most weeks he breaks even to be able to get to the show from wherever else he is that week. Dude's doing this purely for love of the game

I have nothing against Pat McAfee but this is the kinda stuff that is wrong with today's WWE. I'm not the biggest fan of McAfee (although I've come around in about the last year or so), but I fail to see why this is bad situation. The guy LOVES the product and it shows with his performances behind the mic and in the ring. He also has a platform (his podcast) that can help promote WWE. I see zero wrong with this for WWE.

But it still doesn't change that they are dropping big time coin for celebrities pretty frequently while then turning around and saying they don't have funds for good wrestlers. A company that is based around part timers and celebrities..sounds like a path another company went down not that long ago.

My guess is their "people" have determined they make more money having Pat McAfee, Bad Bunny, Logan Paul, etc. than some of the people they released. I know in some cases I disagree with these part time celebrities taking spots from the guys/ladies that are there week in and week out.... but in the case of McAfee, he's there every week so...

But all of those people want to actually learn and come in and do something. They aren't just taking a pay cheque and standing in a corner or doing a single bad punch. And they do draw eyes in, those eyes then hopefully find others on the roster they want to watch when the celebs arent there. Does it work? Not a clue, because ratings can't tell us jack anymore when the average person under 30 consumes almost everything on demand rather than watching live. But it seems to be doing good from a business point of view in that they are making money hand over fist, and is also pretty good for the industry, as while they focus on this, other companies can pick up great talent and provide an alternative for those that prefer a more wrestling heavy programme.

I was worried for a sec when I saw his photo pop up on my Instagram feed. Awesome news! Love Pat & his passion for the business. Along with Cody, the best signing for years!! Can’t believe I am saying this but he has actually made Michael Cole bearable on commentary 😀👏

They're company is literally built on Part Timers and Celebs at this point while they don't have money for a guy like Claudio, that sounds kinda ridiculous to me. And I'll retract what I said if McAfee isn't making like 500k for this, he's on every week and likes the product, that's great, I don't really put him in the same spot as say Logan Paul or Johnny Knoxville.

Cole’s first actual tweet in like 3 years,
(There’s one from last year that just says “as” to a random conversation that feels like a pocket tweet)

But why does it matter? If that doesnt interest you, you can move on to watch a programme that features the people WWE either had and let go, or never had cos they feel similar and didnt want to go there. Because WWE is doing this, and now letting that talent get out there rather than hoarding, people can pick and choose, or just find things to enjoy about it all. And let's face it, from celebs in the Rock and Wrestling era, to Pamela Anderson and Mike Tyson through to Floyd Mayweather and now this lot, WWE has always loved themselves a celebrity attraction. It's not new, and again, at leas this recent crop want to actually DO IT. They arent just there for pay day. Some of them may even stick around, like McAfee has.

I'm happy. Initially I didn't like him, but he's grown on me.
Dude's living his best life, loves the business, is there to learn and contribute, and is well liked by Brock, Vince and more.
More power to him.

I find it kinda funny they are largely becoming what they ripped WCW for...but hey to each their own.

When they have someone who doesnt bother to learn a move win their world title, then we can have that conversation. Until then, bit of hyperbole maybe?

Haven’t you heard, Logan Paul is totally winning the title at some point soon!
