I'm really curious how this will change the product in 2022 now. I've heard talk about them pushing the envelope. But we've seen them push it pretty far on NXT in terms of sexuality. We've seen them use foul language. We've seen them discuss things like death ("I wish you died in the womb") or dead wrestlers (the time Reid Flair was brought up). They've done a lot of stuff that certainly isn't kid friendly and certainly pushes the bounds of PG. Maybe it's just blood and a little more T&A? I'm sure they'd be willing to bring back blood but it would still be hilarious given how they've described AEW as recently as 7 months ago. But Vince has always been a hypocrite when it came to that stuff anyway. It's going to be interesting though. I've heard folks here and elsewhere say they like AEW but prefer WWE because it's something they feel like their kids can watch. I wonder if that will still be the case six months from now. Blood was not part of going PG. The 80's were considered PG and how often did like Hogan bleed? Mattel played a huge part in the modern no blood thing. Blood was apparently a big no-no for them and they signed their first big deal with WWE in February 2008. By that summer they were PG and there was no more (intentional) blood. Even if they ever brought it back, I think it would be like blood capsules and not blading. Obviously if a Brock or Roman decide they want to blade for a big match they'll do it and receive little or no punishment but the official company policy will probably be no blading allowed. It's kind of crazy it's even a thing in modern times. Like as relatively safe as it is most of the time I don't think any insurance agency would allow like Henry Cavill to intentionally cut his head open for real with a blade for a movie scene but in wrestling it's seen as fairly normal.

I'm not saying I want everyone doing horrifying Daddy Magic bladejobs that look like a crime scene *but* What's the point if you're not there to drink it?

Blade jobs on movies and TV would be extremely dangerous. Wrestling only gets away with it because it's one single take with matches only lasting a few minutes on average. Imagine needing to make your forehead bleed for multiple takes on a shooting day that lasts hours on end? SAG would have a field day with that.

Will be interesting to see what the sex content is, because they’ve made it abundantly clear that Vince is still in charge of creative and if weirdo sex angles show up while Vince has these allegations swirling around it’s not a great look. Not interesting enough for me to actually watch the show, but interesting.

I'm intrigued to see if it changes anything. Really given how badly it's been booked in recent years, I fear what adding more unfiltered shit to the shows is going to do, especially given they give no creative freedom to like... anyone
I think we may see more hardcore style matches, maybe make the 24/7 belt an ACTUAL hardcore title (Or just bring the Hardcore title back), and obviously the big thing is bringing blood back, which I assume may be one of the most major things that comes with this. Cody Rhodes is probably vibrating in place at his home lmfao
I also wish this meant we'd hear Thorn in Your Eye again, and the guitar riff interludes between promos and matches and such, I miss that type of atmosphere, I've really hated the last few RAW openings. It'd honestly be a really good time for a set/atmosphere change, but I doubt we get that straight away if at all.

Awesome, now I can breathe easy knowing that nobody will ever blame WWE's poor quality on the PG rating again.
Oh who am I kidding, plenty of people still will.

Yeah especially with how any blood born diseases out there. Blading seems really dumb.

Now instead of insulting the intelligence of children, they’ll insult the intelligence of 14 year olds.
I guess being able to say bitch and ass on TV may lead to a boom period but I doubt it.

There is something ironic about them not even following through on a rating change

So it seems this is at least a planned change. I would love to be at the creative meeting where the strategy to improve the product is "let's add swearing and tits".
