I'm not understanding the pearl clutching over TK making a joke that's not even insulting to Vince. It is an absurdly petty joke that I laughed hard at. Peak wrestling Yeah, I think TK is an ass but that was meant to be a joke. He’s def a clown but in this instance it was fine

I’ve been watching this crazy sport for over thirty years and all because of this man. Thank you for the endless hours of entertainment and the even more endless hours of gossiping, criticising and praising that entertainment online.

He'll still be booking the product. Megalomaniacs never retire. According to multiple reports he's stepping away from everything. I hope that's the truth.

So... Will we actually see this thing called long term storytelling and be able to watch without getting whiplash from the amount of camera cuts?

Someone sent the memo Vince sent to the talent to WrestlingINC To all WWE Superstars: as I approach 77 years old (OMG am I really that old?), I feel it’s time for me to retire. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my passion, wisdom, and love of the business with you. No longer will you see the smiling, docile, level-headed, calm presence at Gorilla every week. Your dedication to WWE will ensure that our company will continue to grow and prosper. Our organization is nothing without you. You are WWE’s only natural resource, chosen to perform in front of a global audience. You are all WWE Global Ambassadors. Carry the WWE flag wherever you go. Wave it high and proud. And bust your ass to be all you can be as a persn and as a performer. One other thing — I won’t be with you, but I’ll be watching. Remember to keep your hands up, grab hold, and sell. Btw, SmackDown airs live tonight at 8pm Eastern/7pm Central on FOX. Vince Was he worried they forgot what channel SmackDown was on? Everything makes sense until the line about SmackDown... He knew it would get leaked. Get the promo in there. Carny to the end.

Honestly thought Vince would die on the job before he retired.
Obviously he is a pretty scummy human being and he is getting his comeuppance. However at the same time he is the reason I am a wrestling fan in general and this crazy ass industry is a huge part of my life. For that I will be grateful.
Having said that, karma does work in mysterious ways.

He'll still be booking the product. Megalomaniacs never retire. This is sort of what I assume, until we actually hear about Vince in a rocking chair somewhere far away I'll just assume he's hiding somewhere booking

Was he worried they forgot what channel SmackDown was on? Everything makes sense until the line about SmackDown... yeah I just noticed that myself. Hmmm Nah, investors were notified about this happening, and actual mainstream business outlets are picking it up as well, along with big name investor firms. He'll still be booking the product. Megalomaniacs never retire. This is sort of what I assume, until we actually hear about Vince in a rocking chair somewhere far away I'll just assume he's hiding somewhere booking Nah, he's completely gone according to several credible outlets. I would expect a full creative reset after Summerslam.

I also don't see how Kevin Dunn sticks around with Vince gone, I'm honestly shocked he outlasted Lesnar apparently lmfao

Whatever WSJ must have found either scared the shit out of him or this is a work. I'm leaning towards work. Even if they got some serious dirt, he's going down with this ship.

This is sort of what I assume, until we actually hear about Vince in a rocking chair somewhere far away I'll just assume he's hiding somewhere booking Unless Dunn and Bruce go too, they could book a Vince show without Vince being there. It'll take a while before we know anything more about how the show is going to be run, but it certainly seems from the leaked talent statement that he wont be there every week, even if he will make calls etc.

How big a deal is this if he's still WWE's largest shareholder? Internet says he owns 37.6% of the company's total shares and 81% of the voting units. Great that they're getting him out of there so he's not abusing his employees but how much of the product will change itself when he's got the power that counts and WWE is recording record profits? It's been confirmed that he's completely out of creative. That alone is a massive change. We've had 25 years of "Vince tore up the script and started re-writing Raw hours before it went on air" so maybe writers will actually get a better version of their vision on-screen without all of that stuff constantly going on.

You don't push that stuff out on the corporate website and inform investors you are stepping down just to come back up. That would likely get Vince in even deeper trouble, this time with the SEC.

As long as Vince is still alive, you ain't gonna see the likes of Dunn or Prichard go anywhere, unless they do so voluntarily. Remember how when Vince bought the company, his dad ensured that Arnold Skaaland, Pat Patterson and Gorilla Monsoon would always have a job as long as they wanted it? I would think Vince would do the same for his people, too.
