Very odd choice.
There are much bigger and more lucrative markets.

Jericho & Omega have wanted to do a show in Winnipeg since AEW started, so this doesn't surprise me one bit.

Very odd choice. There are much bigger and more lucrative markets. Two of their biggest stars are from there so it makes sense. They'll hit Vancouver/Calgary/Montreal eventually.

Okay, so Winnipeg may not be the biggest market they could run in Canada, but here's the important thing:
It's MY home town, so I get to see Kenny Omega live. F*** YES.

I live just outside of Brandon, this is f***ing amazing. It legit brought a tear to my eye when I heard. Also, aside from the Omega/Jericho connection, Winnipeg is generally a super hot wrestling city so this makes total sense. WWE generally packs the house for TV tapings, even when business in general is down.

Winnipeg might not be the biggest market, but it's got a rich wrestling history.

Also let me say this, and I don't mean it as a jab at Winnipeg or any other market. AEW felt unique because they were going to different venues than what WWE did/does. Go to areas that are hungry for wrestling and also have rich histories and I think you're going to see the attendance issues (which are somewhat overblown) diminish and you'll see more crowds like last night where they're insanely hot all night

Raw/SmackDown back to back Monday and Tuesday in 2004, Raw in 2020 right before COVID and SDL in September 2022. It’s a starved television wrestling market. Former WWF and AWA hotbed, hardly ever gets TV. I’d be shocked if this show isn’t incredibly successful, especially with Omega and Jericho on the card. Hell, announce an Elite vs JAS trios match a few weeks in advance or bust out Alpha/Omega III and I’d almost guarantee it sells out. Hell, with the right build, Alpha/Omega III on PPV could probably put 20000-25000 in new Winnipeg Stadium EDIT:Holy crap, “new” Winnipeg Stadium is 9 years old. F*** am I out of touch, even in my home province

Forbidden Door in Canada sounds f***ing INSANE dude, that crowds gonna be batshit
Glad to see all the shows will be represented on the Canada Tour. Have a feeling the crowds will be nuts for all these shows, can't wait!

I misread it as Forbidden Door in Edmonton and thought damn that's a terrible thing to do to the wrestlers

For the Canadians out there, is being part of the Canadian Stampede a big deal?
