Saw some clips of the Logan Paul match on the Twitter and while Logan is rightfully getting praised for doin well, it takes two to tango and Miz is the guy that company goes to make others look good. He's also one of the dudes they know they can send out to media stuff, won't embarrass himself in any fashion and is just savvy to all things required of wrestling.
It's quietly been a really impressive career since his beginnings & it's clear he's a made man with all they can lay on his shoulders.
Good on him.

Yes he is, and he has been for a lot longer than people want to admit. His resume is fantastic. He's kayfabe accomplished everything short of a Rumble win. He's their go-to with Celebrity involvement. The Miz is as slam dunk an HOF candidate as you can ever find. Think about how crazy that would have seemed 10-15 years ago.

I think he's a good personality for sure but he's not a good worker in my view. I liked his match with Logan Paul and he's had some good matches throughout his career but for every match like that, there are matches like his one with Cody or his series of matches with Bryan which were all just there.

The Miz is one of those guys who may not have five star matches on his resume. But he's a very safe and reliable worker that you can trust with a whole breadth of talent.

He is great at his character but is and to me has always been average at best in the ring.

Miz is excellent at what he does. He's never going to be the star of the show or the guy that steals it, and he's never going to be a 5* MOTY factory either, but as far as WWE superstars that do everything that they need to, he's excellent. You want a solid but not spectacular guy to fit in a space somewhere? Miz won't let you down.

Miz is the type of dude a big wrestling company requires in order to be considered "big". He's a stable personality that is easy to work with behind the scenes and in public, very comfortable being thrown out to the wolves on TV shows and press related things, and he's an ultra safe worker. This type of wrestler can't normally be a "Number 1 Dude" because they will be gone from TV too often with their behind the scenes work with celebs and the like. Dude got mocked forever for his reality TV background and it's likely his #1 asset.
Not everybody has to be physical workhorses. Miz is a mental workhorse. Dude is probably in the Top 5 most important wrestlers for the WWE in the last decade. And don't confuse Popularity with Most Important. Two very different things. Miz helps bring in the eyeballs from the "outside the pro wrestling crowd" public. Without that, the WWE is just another fading company.

King of Safe Style. (And that's not a bad thing. Someone has to be.) Yeah, guys like Miz and Corbin are probably never going to deliver a Bryan Danielson/Kenta Kobashi ***** classic in the Tokyo Dome match, but they are guys that fit the old-school definition of a worker. They're safe as houses and still have decent matches.

He may not be great in the same way like a Ric Flair or Bryan Danielson is considered great but he’s absolutely great at what they ask of him. As others have said, you need guys like Miz to really balance out a roster. He’s not a “Mount Rushmore” guy but he’s definitely carved out a place for himself in WWE history.

"Getting people to cheer Logan Paul as a serious babyface" is a remarkable accomplishment as a wrestler. Not many could do that.

As far as him being a face goes, him as a face I think only works like once and a while (maybe him being a face for a year between two long heel runs) unless you count his reality show.

Miz has made me a fan ever since that Talking Smack promo, that made me think, “Oh yeah, he that guy.”
He isn’t amazing 5* classics MotY/MotN in the ring, but he has the potential for 4* matches with the right dance partner and he can drag lesser people to 2.5*/3* matches which is especially a needed quality when you have him as the guy going against the celebrities.
Edit: Also I think something about him having the IC title unlocks his higher potential because sure he’s capable of good stuff at any time, but he’s at his best when he’s in the IC title picture and especially when he is holding it.

As usual, it is not the performer, but the writers that is the problem.
