Sheamus vs. GUNTHER is gonna slap hard. I get wanting Zayn to win because the crowd was so goddamn hot for him in his home city, but it would’ve been too hard to throw aside a deadset meat bumper match that we’ve been wanting for a while now, on a PPV in Europe, for a belt that Sheamus has been gunning for to complete the Grand Slam, for that reason. Yeah I wanted Sami to win with the crowd and everything but you can't pass up Sheamus vs. Gunther for this show.

So the question is now. Does GUNTHER get a strong win over a former WWE champion and the reign continues?
Or does Sheamus finally get the Intercontinental title?
You can go either way here and it would work.
Personally I say keep it on GUNTHER because I want LASHLEY vs. GUNTHER at Survivor Series.

I've NEVER been so satisfied to add a match graphic to the original post as I have for GUNTHER vs. SHEAMUS for the IC title!

Gunther vs Sheamus (and Drew winning the title) is the sort of card that sorely tempts you to get the Network for that weekend, even though you blatantly can't afford it... It's that good of a IC title match on paper.

I'm so glad the IC title is back on a premium event at THIS show too. First time since Wrestlemania 37 the title is defended. That stat is incredible. It's shameful the way they've booked the midcard titles in recent years. Hopefully they're on their way back up. Lashley is putting on banger US title defences every week and they made the Gunther/Nakamura IC title match seem like a big deal. Gunther/Sheamus should be great too.

The US title is quite often defended on a premium event if memory serves me right. The IC just tends to be ignored. In fact, I'd say about 80% of the time since the US title was brought back in 2003, it has overshadowed the IC title in a big way.

In terms of an epic event feeling I think it would be very difficult to beat night one of Wrestlemania (Becky/Bianca, Cody's return, Austin) but for overall in-ring quality this could be their best PPV of the year.
Roman/Drew, Gunther/Sheamus and Rollins/Riddle could all be incredible and they're guaranteed to have super hot crowds. The 6 woman tag should be good too. If it's Edge/Balor hopefully it's the Edge who showed up to the Rollins matches and not the one from the average Styles ones.

Lashley and the Usos still need dance partners. I'm sure they will book something out of the ordinary for this show.

Huh. Surprising, but cool. You'd figure of all the possible shows they could charge people to watch (other than WrestleMania), this one would be way up there. Wonder what prompted them to do that.

BT Sport has shown WWE more respect than Sky Sports ever did.

Very happy we are getting Sheamus v WALTER for this show. My one criticism is I wish it would have got more build up than 2 weeks but there you go.

Probably in exchange for no more NXT UK for a while. Contracts between WWE and the UK broadcasters have always ended in December, so it's in exchange for at least three months of NXT UK.

I think Big Red is just as excited as we are.
