can someone explain the Page 54 thing to me? send it in a PM because for some reason I'm not getting quote/like notifications There in lay the rub….page 54 is a reference to nobody’s notifications working properly. Last night during All Out clicking your notifications took you to Page 54 of the NXT show thread from yesterday. Specifically a post by tower52 That’s pretty much it in a nutshell. |

It was hard enough for people to read through this thread and understand the 54 reference. What's going to happen when everyone outside the AEW section notices all your screennames and have no clue what's happening? Right now, I'm thinking about anyone that had to work this morning and has to catch up on everything thats happened within the past 12+ hours |

You all can enjoy the 54, but who was around 10-15 years ago during the moon incident? If I recall correctly, it happened during the Rumble or Wrestlemania and some streaming service glitched and kept showing images of the moon. That and Superman's chest.... Man back around Superman Returns.. |

A part of me still sees this as work/heel turn. Based on many of the visual cues in the media scrum. * Punk's uncharacteristic arrogance. We know he's an extremely arrogant person, but his on-screen character (as a face) was never anything like what we saw last night. * The way he bossed Tony around was almost cartoonish. TK has the reputation as someone who tries too hard to be one of the boys but I feel like the interaction between him and Punk last night was a precursor to him being an on-screen character/manager for a heel Punk. * Punk eating sweets during the scrum. He was communicating to the audience that he can have his cake and eat it too. * The timing of his title win. He wore white last night. It's normally a Labor Day tradition to not wear white after the holiday, but it's also symbolic in that he's no longer the hero and has gone 'dark'. The media scrum occurred after midnight (US Eastern time) * Another thing I noticed is that the major summer angles that occur are hailed as the Summer of Punk. Of course, he was injured over the Summer and is only now resuming the summer angle after Labor Day (normally the unofficial start of Autumn). The Summer of Punk has now turned into The Fall of Punk. I still kind of agree that there's parts of this that feel like a work to me (Tony didn't know about any of this because his phone was off? 'k), but the bolded part? On a side note: You guys ever see the movie The Founder? It’s about a couple of brothers from southern California who started a little business, and business was good. Then some guy from Illinois got wind of it and forced his way in the door. But then it turned out the guy from Illinois was an asshole and took the business over. It’s interesting. Feels like you might like it. I mean, it was a little more than that. Kroc did some scummy things, but the McDonald brothers reneged on some of their promises too. When it came down to it with the franchising, Kroc absolutely took all the risk. After they made the deal to sell, the brothers never said or maintained they were cheated out of the business. As far as the royalty, Kroc backed out of that once the McDonald brothers attempted to illegally maintain their restaurant after Kroc bought them out. I love the movie, but it definitely had it's bias. No one involved was without doing shady things. |
