It's amazing how many people Punk screwed over with this.
- The Elite obviously.
- MJF , by pretty much no selling him at the scrum. Even with the shoulder injury, Punk could still have been on screen non-wrestling wise for two weeks to have a transitional period before the tournament (instead of an abrupt announcement)
- Mox. Again, Punk being on screen for like two weeks would have meant Mox wouldn't have to pop up on screen to do damage control with his promo or even be in the tournament(since they needed guys on short notice). He could have just set off on his vacation.
- Everybody involved in BTE. It's not just the Elite that use the show to get over. Guys like Dark Order and Nemeth use it to build their audience.
- Everybody in AEW trying to make a living. Making the company look bad effects their ability to put food on the table.
This pretty much sums up the situation:

My favorite questionable CM Punk story is when he said he threw a dude through a bar window. I think of this way too often. That coward actually JUMPED out the window himself to get away from Punk

My favorite questionable CM Punk story is when he said he threw a dude through a bar window. I think of this way too often. Punk’s latest dick move is just claiming parts of Charles Barkley’s life as his own. Dude tells people he was on the Dream Team and went one on one with Godzilla.

That coward actually JUMPED out the window himself to get away from Punk I actually don't remember hearing this story, but I do remember back in his ROH days a story he told about knocking out a very drunk guy by headbutting him for hitting on his girlfriend (?)/friend(?). Of course Punk being Punk complained about his head hurting afterward. The window story came from the Punk & Joe ROH shoot during the part when they were discussing how they had parallel lives at times. It’s an entertaining shoot and was on YouTube in full a few weeks back.

A contract is a contract, but I think Florida is a so-called "right to work" state. Does that have any bearing on things or does it not apply to independent contractors? Right to work has to do with labor unions and means you can’t have employment affected because of your decision to join or not join a union. It’s not the opposite of at-will employment. Florida is both an at-will employment state and a right to work state. That being said, Punk is an independent contractor most likely. Plus he has a contract and the terms of the contract would govern, and we have no idea what that contract looks like.

Wonder what title/job they gave him in the company to make him an employee. Anyway, that shouldn’t complicate the investigation too much. The investigation is to find out what exactly happened fact-wise. Then Tony has to be the one to make the decision on discipline/termination. How he can get out of the contract with Punk just really depends on what’s in the contract itself. If Punk is only able to be fired for cause, then “for cause” is likely defined within the contract. Unfortunately, many times these definitions are still vague and leave a lot open to interpretation. In which case, if they do fire him, their could be a legal battle over whether they met that burden in the contract (similar to the Vince-Luck XFL lawsuit).

Well, we all know that Cornette and Last would never have an axe to grind with Kenny Omega. Occam's razor points to the guy who's a very well-known asshole on the best of days, not the guys who wouldn't stop jobbing until Tony Khan made them cut it out. Also, it's truly a miracle that Punk didn't get severely injured in his MMA stint, because I have a good suspicion that his chin is made of wet sand.

I almost feel that Jim Cornette should be a banned source when it comes to Kenny And the Bucks.

There hasn't been much said by other AEW wrestlers about this incident, but all of the sneaky, hinted-at tweets and social media posts have certainly seemed to be on the side of the Elite. Miro, Chuck Taylor, Hangman etc have all seemed to post stuff pointed at Punk. I don't recall seeing anything from any current AEW wrestlers that's pointed at the Elite. That's telling on how the locker room thinks.

I find hard to believe Punk would be an employee. But then again TK could have done it since he really wanted it.
Also yeh Cornette has lied about Omega before, he would lie again

The "Punk is an employee" rumor seems more like speculation based on him saying he's trying to run a business.
