I almost feel that Jim Cornette should be a banned source when it comes to Kenny And the Bucks. He should be a banned source always. It's akin to using Howard Stern or someone of his ilk as a primary source when you're discussing pop culture events. This is exactly the kind of stuff I was referencing in my earlier post about the sad state of wrestling journalism. "Anonymous AEW source backs up the idea that Punk was in the wrong, but also totally says the Elite are locker room cancer" is an absolute non-story and is irresponsible journalism. That's a completely nebulous statement, and that "source" could be anyone. Now, everywhere you go on wrestling social media, there are going to be completely uncorroborated stories that "the locker room has turned against the Bucks and Kenny Omega." |

I think the Elite being cancer stuff may be wrong but there have been rumblings throughout that the Elite may not be as universally loved as people think.
A lot of heresy for sure but it seems like Punk's heat from everybody is how he handled the PC.
Again not saying Punk is in the right as clearly he isn't but I wouldn't discard that there are talent that aren't big fans of Kenny and the Bucks either

My favorite questionable CM Punk story is when he said he threw a dude through a bar window. I think of this way too often. Punk’s latest dick move is just claiming parts of Charles Barkley’s life as his own. Dude tells people he was on the Dream Team and went one on one with Godzilla. I'm not saying Lanza's report isn't true, but I also don't really care. It's a lot of he said, she said.
It's a wrestling company, it'd be great to see more progress towards 'letting the toxic elements die with an older generation' as Mox put it, but it's not always going to be sunshine and rainbows; there'll always be conflict.
Bottom line is, regardless of who does/does not like them, The Elite did not go full berzerk in a shoot press conference in front of the world. CM Punk did.

Saw it mentioned here, but can't confirm, that Punk derided Moxley for drinking non-alcoholic beer. That's an asshole move. I didn't hear him say it to Mox, but it was toward the end when Punk said that Tony could have one of his seltzers, saying it wasn't "that non-alcoholic shit." Which, also a bad move, talking shit about Athletic Brewing Company since, not only has it helped Moxley stay sober, isn't that also one of AEW's sponsors? |
